  • I quite like the new roll on eye cream and haven't found it sticky at all. I probably use less of it than I do my regular eye cream which is a good thing. Did get the mm of it and the first one I tried didn't vibrate but another one did so hope it is just one dodgy one.

I have set up a small tester group amongst my customers to try and get them to try new products and hopefully place more orders. I gave them a questionaire to fill in regarding the type of products they wanted to try and colours etc. Then I give them something to try and they are supposed to write me a small review about it ( good or bad) so that I can either let other customers know if they ask about a product or hopefully when I have more reviews I will be able to email customers all reviews to encourage them to buy.
I give testers 10% of the product they are testing if they buy it so all are happy. Only early days but think it is working :)

Excellent idea! :T Have often given customers new products to try for their feedback but never occurred to me to set up a bona fide testing group.

As for the solutions eye vibrations, first one I tried didn't work so have requested a replacement. Did a party on Friday and the ladies were VERY interested..... Hmm... am wondering if Avon have missed a marketing ploy? (Don't think anyone cared about the serum - just loved the idea that it vibrated!:rotfl:) Can't say am overly impressed either but, having done the MM am going to offer them out at £5 for a £10 spend and see how that goes.

  • Morning!

Just after a bit of advice please from one of you lovely ladies :D

I placed my C4 order on Tuesday. C4 is my 6th campaign, and as I reached HOV on C3, I made sure I reached it again on C4 by ordering a couple of extra bits for myself, so I could get the SmartStart gift of a Vanity case and samples.
However a couple of items are unavailable, which has taken my order value just below the HOV. The fragrance samples are on my invoice, but not the vanity case :( Really disappointed, as it's not my fault the items are currently out of stock...
Is it worth me contacting Avon to query this?

Also, one of my customers ordered the Luxe Lace Manicure Set from the C1 Party Perfection brochure. Avon didn't send it as they said I didn't qualify, however I emailed them and they agreed that actually I did and they would send it within 5-7 days (that was mid December). I allowed time due to the postal issues and snow over Christmas, but still hadn't received it at the start of the year, so emailed them again and on 8th Jan, they said they would order it again and I'd receive it within 5-7 days....well guess what, still not received it. Any suggestions?

Have a few days' posts to catch up on so sorry if someone else has already answered this.... In your position, I'd contact my SL and ask for their help. They get an English (soz - British!) native speaker on their line and, so far, got to say they're much more helpful than the Helpline I used to have to ring when I was a rep.

In my experience, provided the items you ordered did not have a red cross beside them when you ordered them and you still reached HOV nett of any clearance items (pretty sure that's a grey area; one case I won, one I lost ;)) then you should qualify for your Smartstart scheme.

As for the manicure set, deffo follow that one up - it's coming up again shortly but offered to reps at £3.50 Demo price!

  • All you can do is keep on at them, I had the same issue with a necklace, I had to tell them a few times before they really did send it.

As for the vsnity case I wanted that too, so campaign 5 I ordered some extra's, but then I stupidly put some returns through so all they sent me was samples. If I were you I'd email them, like you say it's not you're fault the stock wasn't there for you.

That's a point.... forgot to mention (and no-one ever mentioned it to me so we all learn by our experiences - and MSE of course :)) that any returns you do are taken into account re. your order value. One of my reps was really disappointed that they missed out due to having returned a few items, which they could quite easily have kept (and financed) until they were out of their SmartStart scheme.... :(

  • I've got one of my customers on C4 and I'm on C5 now, she's only ever ordered once from me though, anyway she's ordered an Anew cream, so I'm thinking of being a fantastic rep and giving her the freebies I'll get from ordering in C5 :D Would anyone else do that or is that being over generous?

    Still catching up....

Am generous to a fault but NOT that generous! If you check out the prices, you'll see in C4 the Anew goodies are quite a lot cheaper than in C5 with the freebies. My thinking was to let them try it at the cheaper price and then if they like it, chances are they'll buy again at the higher price with all the freebies. Time will tell.

Hmmmm yes I think this is something that should be mentioned on the leaflet to be honest... If I'd known I'd have tried harder to resell some of the things that I returned for various reasons...

  • Is anyone else on here going to any of the EROS Motivational Team meetings? I have one in Exeter today, hoping for a few freebies and looking forward to meeting some other reps :)

    Hi,

Yes, I went - should've made a point of trying to find you. If it helps, I was near the front (asking a load of questions :rotfl:) and won one of the raffle prizes. :j

Thought Gail was brilliant but not sure about being such an open book.

Shame we didn't meet up - maybe next time.

why's that MC? too open? sharing too much?

I'm sure this has probably been answered before, but when I order Moneymaker products, does the total count towards MOV on that order or when they are delivered?

    Thanks, Ness

MoneyMakers are charged two campaigns later so - neither - is the answer to your query i.e. MM's ordered in C3 will be charged/count re. your C5 order.

Not sure really; maybe it's just me.... I have a problem with FB for the same reason - when I first joined I got messages from all sorts of weirdo's so I've probably made my page too secure now to help me with my Avon business anyway!

Gail has obviously done really well but sometimes when people have done sooooo well it can sort of have the reverse effect rather than inspiring you. "Left school at 15 with no qualifications, single parent with two kids (two different fathers) in early 20's, commission on first order £8, tripled by 2nd order, no confidence, but 9 years later Merc car, six figure earnings, four holidays a year but...... daughter is home-schooled because she was bullied at school", which I find is really sad - I couldn't help but ask (yes, am nosey :o ) - Gail said was due to the publicity/her success re. Avon....

Think, generally, am just a private sort of person really; there are some things I do share, but some things I definitely wouldn't. Each to their own, I guess.

Got to admit though I did pick up a lot of good tips (some of which I've failed to adhere to already.... doh!) Like, before you go to bed, write down your 'To Do List' for the following day and don't be distracted from it..... (I set my To Do List last night, got up this morning raring to go but 3 phone calls and 6 emails later I started doing the first item only then to find myself cleaning the fridge out.... Deffo Noooo hope for me! :rotfl:)

I can write to do lists until I am blue in the face but ALWAYS get distracted from them. Especially at work. My deputy Manager makes my to do lists for me, he is very anal like that, then he asks me when I have completed MY tasks and then crosses them off, yet his own sit there for weeks before they are done. Then I have my own daily to do list, that doesn't always get actioned as I get calls and have other priority things to do.

In theory for me it is a great idea.

That is really sad. Imagine being bullied because of the job your Mum does. If her Mum was Bill Gates or Richard Branson, would she still have been bullied?

4 holidays a year? My MIL and SIL have these, one is on a pension and works part time and the other works part time and has a husband that works full time... I am doing something wrong! I haven't had a holiday for 5 years.
