  • Excellent idea! :T Have often given customers new products to try for their feedback but never occurred to me to set up a bona fide testing group.

As for the solutions eye vibrations, first one I tried didn't work so have requested a replacement. Did a party on Friday and the ladies were VERY interested..... Hmm... am wondering if Avon have missed a marketing ploy? (Don't think anyone cared about the serum - just loved the idea that it vibrated!:rotfl:) Can't say am overly impressed either but, having done the MM am going to offer them out at £5 for a £10 spend and see how that goes.

Thanks :) It is in fairly early days and I do have a few that are very good at doing their reviews promptly but the others aren't so will be doing a lot of chasing and not giving them more samples until they have done them.
I think it is more the coldness of the applicator rather than the vibrations that wake your eyes up,unless it is just mine that feels so cold first thing in the morning lol.

How did the party go? I would like to start doing some but wasn't sure if I should do themed ones eg skincare, make up etc or just general ones?

Actually being bullied for what your parents do doesn't have to be because your mum made a fortune from Avon... I got picked on because my stepfather was in the Navy and away a lot, unfortunately homeschooling wasn't a possibility for us so I just put up with 8 years of being bullied for various reasons through a total of 8 schools... Kids will bully for the stupidest reasons, most often jealousy! I was probably one of the prettier girls in secondary, certainly had the biggest boobs and a figure to kill for - even our yearbook when we left made references to my ample chest... thanks guys... that's really what I wanted to be remembered for in 20-30 years time when I look at my school yearbook. So even at 17/18 they were horrid and thoughtless...
I frankly hope that if my daughter gets bullied at school I won't have to force her to stay there but instead will have the ability to home school her to stop her going through the trouble I did...
Personally I like Gail - yes I'm biased as she's my SL - but what you see is what you get :) There is no pretence and no fakeness to her... and I respect that :)

  • Hi,

Yes, I went - should've made a point of trying to find you. If it helps, I was near the front (asking a load of questions :rotfl:) and won one of the raffle prizes. :j

Thought Gail was brilliant but not sure about being such an open book.

Shame we didn't meet up - maybe next time.

Ahh, what a shame, would have loved to meet you. I kept pretty quiet so don't know how to help you pick out who I was, (apart from being the only one to put on that lipstick sample they were giving out and keep it on the whole time, then sitting in the foyer of the hotel not realising it made me look more like I was touting for business rather than there on a meeting :rotfl:). If ever your in Exeter again, give me a shout.
Not sure really; maybe it's just me.... I have a problem with FB for the same reason - when I first joined I got messages from all sorts of weirdo's so I've probably made my page too secure now to help me with my Avon business anyway!

Gail has obviously done really well but sometimes when people have done sooooo well it can sort of have the reverse effect rather than inspiring you. "Left school at 15 with no qualifications, single parent with two kids (two different fathers) in early 20's, commission on first order £8, tripled by 2nd order, no confidence, but 9 years later Merc car, six figure earnings, four holidays a year but...... daughter is home-schooled because she was bullied at school", which I find is really sad - I couldn't help but ask (yes, am nosey :o ) - Gail said was due to the publicity/her success re. Avon....

Think, generally, am just a private sort of person really; there are some things I do share, but some things I definitely wouldn't. Each to their own, I guess.

Got to admit though I did pick up a lot of good tips (some of which I've failed to adhere to already.... doh!) Like, before you go to bed, write down your 'To Do List' for the following day and don't be distracted from it..... (I set my To Do List last night, got up this morning raring to go but 3 phone calls and 6 emails later I started doing the first item only then to find myself cleaning the fridge out.... Deffo Noooo hope for me! :rotfl:)

I think Gail is lovely, and boy has she worked hard to get where she is. I love the fact she is so open and honest. Oh sure, I know alot of it is hyped to make us all think we could make it there but if it works!!! Can't see myself door knocking for an hour every morning before work but then if I wanted her kind of success that badly....I would!!! I think Avon should arrange more of these get togethers for Reps and SLs as it was great being surrounded by like minded people.
    Everyone loves a bargain

    Hmmm I'm in a pickle!
A customer of mine has ordered some renewal foaming cleanser (22434) (£8.50) and some renewal serum (32565) (£23.00)
In HT6 I can get the serum+samples+trial size for £11.50 but then her order would just be the cleanser, which she is not entitled to free gift.

Do you think the best thing to do would be to order the HT serum for £11.50 and buy her cleanser on the Avon website, paying the £3.50 postage from the profit I would make? So that she gets her free gift bag? Or is there an easier way around this?
    :)

If you spend over £20 on avonshop and enter the code ATD you get free delivery! Remember the avonshop site has the same 90 day returns policy... so if you were to order something and then happen not like it you can return it for FREE and get a full refund for it ;) But of course you will be keeping the item you bought that you did like which you've got free delivery on ;)

AND if your a member of a cashback website you can get cashback too.. think quidco is about 10%?

number of streets - I got 5 streets when I first signed up = 84 houses, then stopped doing one of those streets because another rep did it (minus 11 houses), then got another 7 streets at the end of my first campaign = 133 houses (206 in total). That was C14 last year, and I started on some more streets in C3. 12 streets = 220 houses (including the street I stopped doing - I think it was mine all along...). So I've got 24 streets in total with 426 houses on them.

I was surprised to get as many as I did when I asked for some more streets at Christmas, but I don't think where I live has many reps at all. There's someone who has the odd customer here and there (I got streets that used to be his) but I checked with everyone else and they don't remember getting a book/never had one. There's a rep around the corner but she scaled back since getting a job and I don't think she did it large-scale anyway. Someone on here once said a rep had been described as "like a spider" reaching out across the village. I think I might be that type of rep :o - although more of a snail really since I'm just in one part of the village. There's plenty left. I thought the ASM would rather do a new sign-up to cover the extra streets I got but there must be so little interest in the area that it was better to have them covered now than hold out for a new rep.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
  • Still catching up....

Am generous to a fault but NOT that generous! If you check out the prices, you'll see in C4 the Anew goodies are quite a lot cheaper than in C5 with the freebies. My thinking was to let them try it at the cheaper price and then if they like it, chances are they'll buy again at the higher price with all the freebies. Time will tell.

It's an eye cream she's bought and it's the same price in both brochures so I'll be ordering and getting the freebies anyway just don't know if I want to part with them :o
  • LOL - When I mentioned it to Ellibee she said "I never realised! It would have made things so much easier if I'd known!" - if you look at your C3 invoice it becomes quite obvious once you've made the connection as the speed dry nailvarnishes and the scales all come right at the end, and of course they were at the back of the brochure. I then checked a few other bits and sure enough, everything falls into its sections, in order as per the brochure! :D

The brain cells obviously skipped a generation :rotfl:

Quick question about the bargain bags in C4 sale book:

Do they have the same contents in every one? Or have I got them confused with the bargain box that appears in HT?

    Thanks

Sorry for my laziness, but does anybody have the links for C5?

    Thanks!
