Does everyone think for stall and things like that it's best to stick to bath and body things, rather than makeup? I can't decide, just trying to take advantage of as many offers as possible...
Hi CP, hope Im not too late in replying, couldn't get on yesterday due to the dreaded annual SCHOOL SHOE SHOP (feel that should have scary music playing in the background!!!!)
I have spent most of this summer doing loads of events, from indoor ladies' days to my most recent this weekend which was a horse show. From my experience, the things which sell are nail polishes, lipglosses and SSS Soft and fresh. I had quite a bit of stock of bubble baths, fully expecting them to sell, but for whatever reasons they did not. One tip I would really recommend is to have a few bottles of whatever you are selling as testers. I've lost count of the number of people who want to 'test' hand cream before they buy it - and I always suggest people 'smell' shower gels etc. I wish you all the best, and hope you raise loads of money for your charity.0 -

Good for you; yes, Ithis thread too - it was in existence long before Avon Connects and it doesn't seem that long since I was a newbie asking lots of questions. You soon go from asking to answering - honest!

Lovely AVON friends, could I please ask you for your views!
I am really ramping up the effort I put into my business at the moment, with a view to only doing AVON from March 2012 when I take my redundancy.
Everything I am doing already is going well, and the next area I want to increase is parties - particularly with the Christmas season fast approaching.
I was contacted on Friday out of the blue by the local community magazine to see if I wanted to do some advertising. Fate sent them my way I think as ther were in my plan!!!
Anyway, I am now looking at placing an ad in the October issue. The costs are quite steep - coming in at £64.80 inc vat - but I reckon it would only take me 2 parties to recoup. My question to you all is, has anyone got any experience of advertising for this purpose, and if so how did it go? I am not going to use it for recruiting, but if that was a side effect great! The area they cover is about 14500 houses and it is free so most people are happy to receive it.
Looking forward to your repsonses.:)0 -
thanks for such a quick reply! i dont know my mail plan, i live in wa10 and will be putting my c13 order in on thursday this week.
i think i need to rejig my customers - i have gradually added small roads to my initial f&f but some of my better customers have ended up on my back order book and most of the first group (not f&f) have requested no more books. hmmm need to have a think about that!
while i'm on here i have another question! i think i was signed up by an asm, though i'm not entirely sure, but recently noticed when i signed into avon connects that in the 3 and a half months since i signed up i have been removed from the group owned by my asm and added to another persons rep group, then removed from that and returned to my asms group and then removed again from that group and added to a third persons reps group, i dont know either of the other people whose groups i've been put into and other than the notifications on the connects site i've had no contact from either the person who signed me up or the other two group owners, anyone got any idea whats been happening?!
thanks
You're v welcome; looks like you could be Mail Plan H then so not too bad - bang in the middle. (The whole country is stepped from A to O.) Hopefully you should be OK then for clearance but yes, a good idea methinks to bring your better customers forward onto your current book.
TBH customers don't tend to even notice the number on the book but you can come a cropper occasionally i.e. if one customer asks why they're on a different book to their friend/relative. At first I got embarrassed about that but then told them I'd done it 'on purpose' as it saved me checking they got the best deal i.e. they could check the offers between them in both books! :rotfl:(I still do Creative Ordering but no longer feel guilty if I profit from an offer they miss.)
As for AC and being in different groups, sorry, no ideas - why not ask them? Maybe it's just a matter of your ASM not being exactly very computer literate so they've asked one of their SLs to set up a Group to help you all keep in touch? If you fancy, search me out (am Christine13) and send me a Friend Request. Come to that, maybe that's a good idea for us all to do?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Good luck, MB; have only ever advertised once and didn't get a single reply but am told it's a 'long term' thing i.e. people only start to contact you after they've seen your advert 'a few times'.
There are actually some suggested wordings for 'approved adverts' on your Avon website (all our adverts supposedly need to be approved by Avon albeit I've just come across one placed by Avon that contradicts their own rules! :rotfl:)
Hope you get some good feedback from someone with experience of doing parties and your 'retirement plans' come to fruition.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Evening all! Haven't been on here very much lately. Trying to catch up with myself now!
MB - What about including a code (with expiry date) in your ad so customers get a discount or a free gift on 'x' spend. this way you will know how much response your getting and it will give them an incentive??
MC - I think this may have been you! Someone on here mentioned they have a kind of sales leader guide that they put together themselves. Can someone please let me know and email it to me? I have decided to jump!!
Lozza - If we are due a new thread please would you include the new starter post on the front page (IGeek's one from the other day) I thought it was fab!
Hope we're all doing well this campaign. My lot like to order at the last minute, but it seems to work pretty well. Soon find out!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Best piece of advice I picked up from this forum is put little notes on order forms
i.e if you don't want to receive a brochure( please put your house number and street on this order form)
then you cross them of your list.
A new thing I am doing for my territory reps is printing of there area from asm with street's so they can organize there territory better with a map of area (google maps)"It is your decisions, and not your conditions, that determine your destiny".0 -
Yes I think well be due a new thread soon - if people want any bits adding to the first post just Let me know, then when I get chance (prob be next week) I'll start the new threadAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0
