It's way more expensive so I wouldnt worry! They might buy the odd bit but they certainly won't order everything from there it'd be too expensive!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Body Shop at Home - just did a little research. They have a catalogue, but by the sounds of it it's just the one. You're expected to hold at least 4 parties every 4 weeks  . There was no mention of canvassing or getting lots of copies of brochures. The most you could do would be to give your one catalogue to someone to browse I assume.
It doesn't sound nearly as convenient for customers. Something that concerned me about Avon parties would be the expectation on customers to order. I realise as the host you could make sure you don't do the hard sell, but the customer could feel obliged. It depends whether you're amongst close friends or strangers. Also, you'd be jumping straight into doing parties with people you don't know that well (to hit the 4 parties per month target - unless you have a massive network of friends) - and people might not be that sure about attending. I think it would be a slower start. It relies on ready-made groups of people being available, whereas with Avon we only need to find individuals.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I've had 2 new customers call me. They did a search, I was the only rep who showed (I was really surprised so asked the second person to clarify this, and she really did mean the only one), they could see my phone number, so they rang me direct.
Then I got an e-mail saying someone had attached, but in the same minute they de-attached. I've added them as a friend on Connects to see if they'd still like to get in touch but they haven't added me back yet. Loads of reps have reported getting "attached" so they've tried to get in contact with the customer but they've had no reply.
Even though I found something on Connects (posted by Avon) saying to be eligible you have to sell £300 over 3 campaigns (i.e. £100 per campaign), a rep rang Avon and was told it's £300 per campaign. That makes a lot more sense when trying to work out why I'm the only rep showing on search results when I'm 4 miles away.
The new customers I've got are in a convenient location (even though it's 4 miles away), but any more customers from there, or anywhere else, are going to be impractical to serve. I'll have to find them another rep.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. I get customers adding, and nothing happens. Have tried sending them a message saying thank you for adding me, let me know if I can help in any way kind of thing, but nothing comes back.Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -

Oh well, their loss. Judging from my experience and posts on Connects you may well have found they were too far away to serve.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Hiya, has anyone got any experience of selling Avon on market stalls or car boots?
What would be best to take? Skin so soft? Shower gels/shampoos?
I'm a bit lost as to how much to order and of what!
Any help would be really appreciated!!Or a point in the right direction if this has already been discussed?

I've tried selling avon in the past a car boot - my advice is, only do it if you've got other stuff you want to sell as well. We found it hard to sell enough to make it particularly worthwhile, especially if you need to take into consideration covering your stall fee. we took a bit of everything - shower gels, shampoos, bubble baths (sold v little of them), some make-up (which on the whole sold well), and some other bits that I had in my "stash". Our thinking at the time, was that if I could get some reps and/or some more customers for either us or my team, then it would be worth it.
We got the total of....
no reps and no new customers!
Give it a try - it could work in your area, but round our way it just didn't and we did do quite a few across the summer to give it a good try!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Thanks for your advice. The stall costs £8 and it is a drive away so means not only will I have travel costs to cover but can't really pick up any new customers there either..... hmmm.....will have to see if I have anything else lying around!0
