    Hi all,

I was wondering if i could pick brains??

I was told when joining to try & get more people buying by offering vouchers / discounts & special offers EVERY month. Last time C10> I done, Spend £20 & get 2 free gifts. But, This month i'm stumped. Also, Looking at what my customers have order C11 isn't going to be fruitful for me.

I wondering what specials you all offer to bring the sales home??

Also, for people who don't drive - How do you manage to deliver all your books? I have a good few house's (Over a 100) & I'm finding it a struggle carrying 100 books backwards & forwards?

    Thanks in advance!

I do drive but I only have one customer I drive to; I tend to take about 40 or so books out at a time and stagger my book deliveries and collections across my territories :)

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time

Well this time around i brought items from HT 11, So hopefully my customers liked it & will buy this time around, But i too was a little worried that it would start costing a fortune. The "free" gift's cost me over £14. So i'm kinda banking on the same customers buying again... Wishful thinking really.

What's really getting to me atm, Is getting the books in & out! I'm thinking of getting a basket on wheels like they have in some new stores now, But finding them on the net is proving harder then i first thought??!!

The women who took over my rounds on betterware use's a shopping trolly from tescos LOL...However, I think i might have some issues trying to store on of those in a 1 bedroom house! XD

Well putting out books again to non regulars was a waste of time! BUT I have recanvassed three houses on one road that were unoccupied when I started and two out of three have said they want another book so thats book.

Still having problems with a customer, last camp she kept paying for bits and bobs because she never had enough money. She still didn't have enough money to complete the order. She also ordered this camp and said she would pay for all the stuff.
I went round on friday and she didn't have any money, her daughter wanted to smell the perfume she had ordered and then went off so I went back saturday, the woman said to send the perfume back and to ignore any order with her daughters name written on, she paid for one item and asked if I would come back monday as she didn't have enough money. I went back today and guess what? she had no money, she asked if I could come back in half anhour while her husband went to the cash machine I said no, I had other customers to see. So I said I could come back tomorrow.

I really should have given her a last warning but I'm a bit of a wuss and I don't want aggro. These items she has not paid for are from the previous camp as well!

I am wondering whether to bother going back or not because I am sick of this, she is seriously taking the mick!

I would just cut your losses and stop giving her books, she sounds like she's more hassle than she's worth.

I canvassed the last street of my territory last week, just collected £130 of new customer orders - yay!
I did see someone else's books in a couple of houses so I took her number and sent her a friendly text to find out if it was f&f or if she canvassed my whole street.

    Hi Ladies,

I'm interested in becoming an Avon rep but I don't drive, so the streets I do would need to be the ones around where I live... I've never seen anyone dropping catalogues off where I live but is there a way of seeing if my street is available?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Unfortunately, only ASMs can see what streets are available near you but If you let us know your postcode (or PM me with it) we can see if there are any reps near you. Would that help?

With everything else going on in your life you really don't want this hassle. Cut your losses. Drop her a note to say her order is £...... amount and unless she contacts you by ............ her order will be returned to Avon.

In your situation I certainly wouldn't drop her another book; you might like to add a 'PS:' that you are downsizing your business and are happy to help customers if they can email and collect their orders from you. :)

Am puzzled, 'free gifts' shouldn't cost you anything i.e. creative ordering opportunities usually result in you getting free products, but if you haven't yet built up a 'treasure chest' why not offer:

    * 10% off orders £.....+
    * Supercurlacious mascara's @ £3/4 or free for orders £20/30+ (Buy the loyalty pack so they cost you £2 each)
    * Shower gels in HT12 clearance @ 50p each nett and offer them for orders over £10
    etc., etc., etc.

As for trolley bags, keep an eye out at Lidl - they have them occasionally for a fiver.

But, most of all, do you really need to be buying/dropping all the books you do? Unless you're a PC member then your books are 'precious' and should never be left anywhere they're not wanted. You may think asking and someone saying No is difficult but if pennies matter then think of it in terms of every time 10 people have said No to you, you've saved (not lost) £1-2

  • Another question from me!!!

I ordered some of the Herve Leger MM from HT, but didn't sell them all :( , so I have some to go back - what do I need to send back ? The MM was the perfume, a mascara and sample, but I used the samples obviously.

Go to credits and either put the product number from invoice in or search for the perfume by name then fill in how many you want to return. Do the same for mascaras. Don't worry about samples they are meant to be used. I didn't sell any either but don't remember the perfume being very obvious in the book so customers might not have noticed it :(

I use an old umbrella buggy to deliver my avon books. Can carry about 60-80 books in one go then .

I use a shopping trolley to take my books out and about now after pulling a muscle in my back trying to carry loads :o It was also the day I got drenched to my underwear when it started raining while I was collecting books! I use carrier bags to seperate the different roads (I have my road, 3 closes, then a long road of terraced houses which I split into odd & even houses) and it took me about an hour to put all 100 out the other day rather than the 3 hours that it took me going backwards & forwards when I used bags and did a different route :D Its still only covering less than half my territory, but between the shopping trolley and a new route I'm hoping to cut down the amount of time it takes me to put books out and collect them in, therefore allowing me the chance to cover the rest of my territory ;)

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

So why would another SL then recanvas for new reps in territory already allocated? QUOTE]

A lot of people only want to be friends/family reps, so even if there street is allocated, there could be people living there who want to be a rep themselves. Canvassing for new reps is different from looking for customers, we can't take customers from another reps streets unless its someone we know (friends/family/work etc). New reps just have to be told that they cannot canvass where they like! One of my reps has had her road canvassed by a new rep who didn't realise....the person who signed her up should have made it quite clear!

Sl can only use expired brochures for canvassing, or if we use brochures that can still be ordered from, we most certainly can't put anything about contacting us to place an order, and we definitely can't put an order form in! Contact your asm, explain the situation, give her the SL details and let her deal with it, asm are used to dealing with territory problems, so a quick word from her will hopefully sort it x
