I understand what you mean about not wanting to give the impression you can be given the run-around. I bet lots of people out there think we're paid by the hour and employed by Avon so it's okay to do several attempts at collection/delivery.
It's one thing to keep dropping books to people who don't order, but return books, but quite another to carry on with houses where you know you're posting the book never to see it again. Your SL's thinking must be that eventually this approach will lead to more orders (and more commission for them), but in reality it's unlikely to and you're only going to end up spending more of your earnings than you need to or even making a loss. And then that leads you to be more likely to quit.
People who don't return the book the first time deserve a second or third chance during those first few campaigns of canvassing. I've had 7 people who didn't return their first books turn into customers, which I wasn't expecting at all.
Were you given a customer list when you started, or just that figure of 30? If it was just the figure 30 then it sounds an awful lot like it's just come off the stats showing on SMA. I saw the stats for my streets when I asked for a list of allocated roads to be e-mailed to me. The number of potential customers always worked out to be 1/3 of the total number of houses (unless there were only 1 or 2 in the postcode). It didn't look like any research had gone into working out the figures since it was the same success-rate on every street. 1 in 3 houses ordering (even if it's not often) seems so unrealistic to me. I'm currently looking at 12% being customers and 60% saying "no more". Some of the rest are empty and the others are still being sifted through.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

As for the customers i was told that the last 2 reps, Had the same sales % each month & that it was the same buyers, But no names or address given.
I had a basic customer list of the 6 who was forever ordering of Avon (Only 3 of them made under £10 orders*)
As for the posters / Notes mine says:-

Quick question: In the "beat the highstreet" brochure with C9, on page 38 of the clearance there were Assun Sequin Slippers (black ones) in 2 sizes, the biggest was size 7/8, are there bigger sizes available or do Avon stop at 7/8? I have a customer who ordered the 7/8 (they're a size 8) but they found them too tight. She'd love it if I can get a bigger size!
So would I or I may have lost a customer

Mini paper bags - I read on Connects that these are the same size as the small ones, but cheaper. Avon have cottoned on and in HT13 they've got rid of the mini bags altogether and reduced the price (only a little) of the small ones.
I'm in C11 at the moment and have added some mini bags from HT12 (C10) to my order. They're showing in the view subtotal bit so I presume are okay to order. I've ordered 10 packs to stock up!I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Good post on being strict I,Geek. Thats what I need to start doing I think! I am getting really peed off with trudging up streets all the time only to find a book is not out esp when my toddler decides to throw a tantrum in the middle of the street and demands to get out of her pushchair/throws herself on the ground/an ice cream etc!
Oh and my non payer has now paid! she is NOT getting a book again though!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -

I have been out recanvassing some of my streets tonight and got 1 order and 5 people that want more books in the future so that is good news. I haven't recanvassed properly for a couple of years as the streets I have don't have many people moving in or out and if they hadn't ordered after about 5 books last time I didn't bother with them again.
This time I put a note similar to others on here asking them tick yes or no for more books, and most people tonight had filled them in which is much more helpful than those that don't.
On my order forms I put my phone number and email address and say if I miss them they can place an order by contacting me on either of those. I never go back to collect books if people aren't in the first time and if they aren't in and have an order to pay for I put a card through saying I tried to deliver and please can they contact me to arrange another day.
I would say that id you have houses that you don't think you are going to get your books back from on a regular basis, keep them on the previous book then it won't matter if they don't return it as you won't be reusing it anyway.0 -
i entered some returns to return customers goods and customer then changed mind so just left returns as it would balance its self out and anyway after a lot of messing about goods are now going back but because i couldnt get returns form up on new site my time has lapped how can i re claim for these goods again and send them back for good sorry for return dribble but dont want to be stuck with stuff and charged:(
thanks in advance for any help0 -
Bag sizes - the mini ones are taller than a mascara and at a guess I'd say 8cm wide. I used to only buy medium ones but I found several customers were only ordering one/a few make-up items so the mini size was fine.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here.
