aaagh! am so frustrated - I seem to spend all my time running around after two customers - one who always says she hasn't had time to look at the book (never mind that she has had it for nearly two weeks now!!!) I told her tonight that I could not come back again and that if she wanted to order, she would have to phone or text me. And next time, she is the last person getting a book, that way I can afford not to get it back! I always go back when she has asked me to and then she always says the same thing!
and the other whose "friend" ordered through her and yet I can't get her to take delivery. She has had her own order delivered but just her friend wasn't there and then hadn't brought the money, and now I can't text her as the message is not going through. And its a problem with her phone only as I can text other people!
sorry! just need to vent a bit of frustration! am so fed up running around after these people.....
Hey DON79, I feel for you as I have had a few customers like this on my territory. For the lady who doesn't give the book back I would put her on a back order brochure and just put a note on it asking her to text/phone/email you her order (for the sake of losing one backorder book it saves you making lots of journeys to pick it up when she hasn't looked at it!!). For the second lady who's "friend" hasn't paid yet I would tell them that they need to come and pick the order up from you by x date or you will have to return the products as you have to pay for them yourself otherwise. In both cases you are showing that you are not willing to run around after your customers. Personally I would rather lose a customer who is hard work than constantly run around after them. They will take advantage. Let them know that you have a life too and are not a 24/7 Avon Rep! I know I may sound harsh but I regularly get 50 orders per camp. If I let them all dictate the collection/delivery dates and times I really would be a 24/7 rep. Good luck with getting them trainedEveryone loves a bargain :beer:0 -

Just out of interest how many houses do you have on your territory?
I've got 446 in total. I'm actually doing another 15 houses which aren't allocated, even though I always thought they were otherwise I wouldn't be doing them. As soon as I saw they weren't down as mine I asked them to be allocated - no-one else has done them since fortunately.
My sales figures below also include an average order of £40 from local businesses, and a few friends and family people, and the stuff I need to buy for myself - so my sales from territory are even further away from the £593 expected.
I saw the stats because I asked for my streets to be confirmed and when they're copied and pasted from SMA you can also see the expected customer numbers and sales.
I've just added up the number of customers expected: 147. I actually have 49. Ha!I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Tell her no problem! I've just started out as well and asked a million questions so let her know that nothing is too daft to ask! Good luck!My Debt Free Diary

That is THE most important piece of advice! Always ask, no matter how silly you think you might beOne of us will no doubt have been in the same situation:)

Our ASM is very hot on all territory being covered every campaign and if a rep doesnt and she can tell by number of books ordered and by looking at placed orders, she will just take the territory away and give it to someone who will cover it every campaign.
But it would be impossible to cover all of your territory every campaign.
If people don't want a book why would you keep giving them one and even if you did they would be very cross about it.
I always keep an eye out for people moving and then approach the new people.
I recanvass the whole area two or three times a year.
The number of books ordered isn't a great indicator as they could be used many times in a campaign. I must admit that I have cut back on the number of catalogues I order but am still working the same way I always have but giving some customers the previous campaign.
Really not meaning to sound snarky but would love to know how your ASM thinks that is possible.0
