They said my order is already invoiced so nothing they can do :( Having a really bad week, just feels like one thing after another. What do I do? To be fair, she was late with it, but I want the custom... What would you do?
I can't do it online either as it doesn't offer the same free gifts....
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

Well are you making MOV/HOV for this campaign? If you are I'd be inclined to ask if she could wait 'till next order 'cause as you say, she WAS late and she doesn't know you can put through additional orders anyway. If she needs it this time around for the sake of a £30 order plus further custom I'd take the hit and put it through as an additional.

Have decided to go down the middle and offer her the option to order with £2.50 postage or put it through next time. I can't be spending money on someone's order because they were late, so think it is fairest way. :o

Could you not add on a few expensive items to bring it to MOV and then return the extras later. That would mean you would get commission on the £30 order, out of which you could pay the £2.50 delivery, earn a few quid for yourself, and make your customer vey happy? :)

The territory thing seems to be a bit of a minefield.

I had another rep canvasing my area and I got the impression that the ASM condoned it. It bugged me as it looks really unprofessional but my customers were very indignant on my behalf.

On paper I have a good area with lots of houses but the take up rate is very low. I will be recanvasing before the summer but I won't hold my breath.

Our ASM is very hot on all territory being covered every campaign and if a rep doesnt and she can tell by number of books ordered and by looking at placed orders, she will just take the territory away and give it to someone who will cover it every campaign.

I'm going out tonight with my first lot of books for my territory! Unfortunately I only have 8 to put out after leaving some with F&F before I decided to do territory.

How long d'you guys usually leave them out? I was thinking of doing Mon-Thurs & Thurs-Mon? Going to put the books out tonight 'till Monday and then start doing it that way as of next week 'cause I have quite a big territory and not a lot of books!

Could be a plan! Does anyone know if your credit limit with avon increases over time? How do you find out how much it is? I am giving up on asking my asm anything as I get the bare minimum of help.

"Our ASM is very hot on all territory being covered every campaign" - I noticed a note in my new ASM's campaign newsletter saying "make sure you order enough books to cover your territory".

I think ASMs who expect all houses covered every campaign don't have a clue what it's like to cover territory. We all have people who've told us they don't want a book. In my case 58% of my area doesn't. I'd be an annoyance and throwing my money away on books for them if I went to them every 3 weeks. The level of expected interest in Avon is also unrealistic, plus I've noticed average customer spends going down even with people who I know like the products and order regularly. I'm starting a loyalty scheme to raise spends by a bit, tailoring the target to suit the customer so they're not having to go from £3 orders to £20 ones. I cover my area thoroughly, but while respecting the wishes of people who don't want a book. I'm prepared to try incentives and offer a demo of something at the door, but beyond that I would feel like I'm getting into "hard sell" territory and that's not something I want to do.

Plus there are those people who seem to be interested, or even order, and then mess us around no end. I've got one person on their last chance, and reduce how often non-customers get books if they become unreliable.

Just added up the figures in the stats I got from SMA. Expected sales per campaign: £593. You'll notice from my signature I've never made that. The C6 one was only so high because my mum and grandma ordered and I had some MMs on there.

I'm in the middle of asking for some extra streets so I'll ask my ASM when I ring tomorrow what was meant by "order enough books" and whether losing my area to "poor sales" is a risk.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I'd love to know what my 'expected sales' are - but I bet I'm nowhere near :o

Just out of interest how many houses do you have on your territory?
