But just be careful - someone on this thread once got locked in a block of flats until she could get someone to come & unlock the door
That scares me slightly! :rotfl:
I'm officially obsessed with Avon though. My aunt text me to say she'd taken the book to work and her colleagues are interested and I've spent the morning making flyers and newsletters to prep my books tonight after the football.
I hope I get some orders after this or I'll be gutted! My Debt Free Diary

Have a couple of questions if you lovely lot don't mind.
First is re bags. Do you guys put the books in sealable bags? What do you use? Sandwich bags? And where's the best place to get them.
Also a little confused with the Loyalty Card thing in Hello Tomorrow. Says you get so many cards and 5 mascaras for £10? Is that full size mascaras? Seems a bit odd...
I'm sure more questions will come to me through the day!
Yes they are full size mascaras. It is a good deal. I have had it once, and will do it again. You could just buy it and sell the mascaras. Sell them for £4 when the customer spends 'x' amount and you have 100% profit on them and you get the ordersStill looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -

Ooh okay, I might do those as an introductory offer 'cause my first books are going out tomorrow night - buy the mascara for only £4 and just hope that less than 5 people take me up on it! :rotfl:My Debt Free Diary

The territory thing seems to be a bit of a minefield.
I had another rep canvasing my area and I got the impression that the ASM condoned it. It bugged me as it looks really unprofessional but my customers were very indignant on my behalf.
On paper I have a good area with lots of houses but the take up rate is very low. I will be recanvasing before the summer but I won't hold my breath.0 -

You can order more than one pack any way so don't worry!Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Got my first order today
Ok, it was my sister, but it's a start! Going to collect my first lot of books tomorrow, really nervous about it, hoping that the majority put them out!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -

 Hi and welcome! Don't panic too much if they have only given you a week. Are you doing friends and family, or have you been given territory? Take some time to read the thread before this one (link is on page one of this one I think) and then this one as you will find it invaluable. I would never have done so well without it! Any questions, you know where we are, even if you think it's a silly question, just ask.

Well done! All orders are good. Took so long posting to you, I didn't see this until after! You will get plenty of hints and tips here to make the most of your orders. Using avon stuff / wearing it yourself definitely gets you new customers too.Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -

I didn't hold my breath either but was pleasantly surprised to get new customers - from a group of people who'd never read books before, or couldn't even return them.
I did a recanvas once using flyers asking to contact me and only got 1 call. Then I used backorder books last time. I had to prep and collect them but it was well worth it and I'll always do it this way in future.
If by "on paper" you've seen the stats from Avon try not to be disheartened about your actual take-up rate. In comparison most of ours would seem low. Avon says 1 in 3. I say 10-15%, and thats on streets covered for months now. Even taking into account people who get Avon elsewhere, my streets don't get up to Avon's level of interest.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
