Have a couple of questions if you lovely lot don't mind.

First is re bags. Do you guys put the books in sealable bags? What do you use? Sandwich bags? And where's the best place to get them.

Also a little confused with the Loyalty Card thing in Hello Tomorrow. Says you get so many cards and 5 mascaras for £10? Is that full size mascaras? Seems a bit odd...

I'm sure more questions will come to me through the day!

Like the OP I use the Avon Bags, I've never seen anything cheaper - 80p for 50.

Yes the loyalty card thingy is 5 full size mascaras :)

Sorry I seem to have taken over the thread now :o

Last campaign my order was double the amount it normally is, thought this was just a fluke and this time round I'd be back to my normal figures. But it's not, It's even more than last time :D

Only thing is I order way too much for myself - I seem to be ignoring the boxes of stuff I have already got stashed away for myself. On the plus side I am trying to get strict with the difference between what I want and what I need.

So what I've decided to do is write myself an order form (or 3 :o) and have taken the cash out of my purse and put it aside with the rest of my customer cash - that made me cut down my order.

another question please.... this one is maybe a little cheeky! But I have a customer who has done a c6 order for a body spray at £3.60 - now in c7 this body spray is only £1.25 rather than the usual price - I wondered if it would be nicer to pass the saving onto the customer? Would you do this or not? :o

    No, I wouldn't.
I'd order at the cheaper price but still charge her what she ordered.

I know this seems a bit mean but I sometimes think they don't appreciate it anyway - depends how well you know your customer though. Some of mine can be very ungrateful. I will tell them when they've missed an offer though - I had quite a few orders from C7 where they hadn't ordered the free make up item so I've gone back to those customers to let them pick something.

What I'd maybe do if she's a good customer and has placed a decent order - or even if it's her first order with you is buy her a freebie with the price difference? Depends on how you feel about it though?

Let me know what you decide though - it's always good to know how others handle this.

Very much up to you DON79, but it would please your customer and may help secure further orders from them if you pass on the saving. Otherwise, you could put it down to 'creative ordering' and keep for yourself............

I've received a delivery today for campaign 7 (1 box, lol!) - anyone know which mailplan this puts me on?

Naughty Avon didn't put in my free Advance Techniques hair colour:(, so I have sent an Email asking for it. No reply as yet......I did claim it before the cut-off date.

Hello Avon-ers! It's my first post though I have lurked on the forum for quite a while now.

I started doing Avon in early January and "sigh" I just can't seem to get it off the ground. I'm in temp work so not in the same office very long so I can't sell it at work, I've got very few friends and family locally to sell to either. I spoke to my upliner when deciding to join in and she told me about a lot of reps in the same town who only really sell door-to-door but make a success of it, so I thought I'd give it a go.

I started with my own street of 55 houses and I have one customer who orders every few campaigns and a couple of others who have had one-off orders, but only at about £5 each time so I'm not making any money from it at all! I've been to a couple of nearby streets dropping brochures but found they already had a rep - I was told by my upliner those streets were free so didn't intend to tread on the other rep's turf.

And as well I find I'm tempted to order stuff for myself at about £10 a month so that isn't helping me to be MSE! (although I get things on special offers that I use up so I'm not wasting money.)

How did you lot manage to start making a success of Avon? I'm going to go to page 1 and have a good read of this thread for starters! My upliner did tell me that for about the first 6 months until she got her turf established and customers realised she wasn't a fly-by-night, she was working for free, but now she's been at it several years and does well from it, although she said obviously when the economy first turned bad she took a hit but things are on the up now.
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

The best thing to do is prove to the customers that you are reliable - go back when you say you will and deliver when you say you will.

When you where given the 2nd lot of streets did you ask your upliner if they where yours? Just I've quite a few people on my streets that buy from someone else, even though the street is mine, another rep can still have customers there as friends or family, if they where already assigned to someone else did you ask for any more?

Maybe put an offer on you books, 'All new customers get a freebie', 'All orders over £x get a freebie', 'introduce a friend'?.

The 1st thread on here is the best place to start, but it took me about 6 months to get my street 'established', where they know who I am and when I'm coming etc.
