I was just wondering if anyone puts up cards in local stores or supermarkets.
As I said before my territory looks good with lots of houses but the take up rate is very low. Most people just aren't interested in Avon and some really look down their noses at it. No idea why as they obviously haven't looked at the catalogue.
We don't really have any corner shops but the Post office I use has a window you can put cards in for 50p a week and we have a Sainsbury in town. Thinking of ordering some Vistaprint postcards and business cards and giving them a whirl.
Just wondering if anyone had had any luck this way.
Thanks

I did this, I didn't get much take up but my area is saturated with Reps! So go for it! You may do really well from it. You can also advertise online for free. I think Lozza1985 once gave me the info, but I haven't been concentrating on Avon much lately - quite disheartened, so don't have it anymore. You could try private messaging her.0 -
PLUS someone from my area just canvassed one my main roads with a business card saying add her on facebook or call her to see a book!!!!! I found her on facebook... but i dont have the nerve to argue at the min... just hoping i keep my regulars too be honest!! all i can cope with at the min with my uni and health problems and no childcare for a terrible 2 year old!!
I would just add her on facebook and then politely message her asking why she is canvassing your territory and that you will be informing your ASM.
I am keeping an eye on my streets as a couple of books have disappeared from doorsteps in mysterious circumstances lol...BSC #215/No.1 Jan 09 Club0 -
my ASM just added me on facebook!!! this could be interesting....lol
and id like to see her or avon enforce me canvassing my whole territory every campaign... i have approximately 15 roads allocated to me..... some with 100+ houses - probably in the region of 1000 houses....... there is not a CHANCE of me covering them every campaign UNLESS i had fulltime childcare for LO and worked 9-5 monday to friday delivering and collecting books........ id prefer they took my territory off me and let me keep my 95 regulars on as F&F if thats the case.
Am due a MASSIVE recanvass though.... made harder by the new backordering rulesCos usually i would just order an extra 100 books and use 100 current book, approx 100 the previous book and approx 100 previous previous books......so gonna have to buy lots extra instead

we are not allowed to backorder 2 campaigns anymore.
You can still backorder 1 campaign. But you used to be able to drop down the arrow, and select the previous book and order from that too, making it ordering from 3 campaigns.
ie, you are are on campaign 3, you can back order campaign 2, but if you drop down the arrow on campaign 2, you can back order on campaign 1 too. They cottoned on that people were doing this, I assume and they were losing money, so have stopped it. I blame Connects.0 -
i blame connects too!!! although most people hadnt cottoned onto it as loads people were going "what do they mean 3 campaigns? we can only back order 1 book??" when it was announced! Think the main flag of it would have been the camp 3 foundation offer though.... bet that generated lots of C4 additinonals when the foundations where £10.50 in c5!!!! Its also a way to make you order more books like in my situation....and maybe a way to encourage us all only to use our current campaign books only... because it throws up an interesting dilema for anyone using back order books for part their territory.... if a customer submits a late order after youve submitted your main order you will no longer be able to order it..... might be worth remembering those who have split their territories!!0

Thanks I'll give it a go and see what happens. The PO has a grocery store as well and it's always pretty busy.
Will PM Lozza1985 as well.
Thanks again.0 -

Thought it was too good to be true - please tell me it's a handbag and not like a make up bag thingy?
The nail varnish sounds pretty awful - and that's just going by the name, 'Golden dream' makes me think of something else that I'm not sure I'm allowed to say around here
Sorry newbeginning its a make up bag thingy and not a handbag!
The nail varnish isn't that bad its clear with real gold in it apparently to strengthen your nails! It will still be going in my mom's direction though0 -

I'm strict with people who order late because I state clearly when I'm collecting the brochure and if it's not there they're given a time and date to get their orders in by. If the latecomer was on backorder (now expired) I'd check in the new backorder book and current ones and see if their order can be added to my next one for the same price or less. If so, I'd tell them they'll have to wait until the next delivery day, give them the next book in the meantime. If the order from the now-expired book has gone up in price I'd explain that the book they had is now expired, the order was late, so they need to re-order.
That sounded a bit convoluted!I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
