The thing I don't get about recanvassing is what is the point of delivering books to houses which have said they definitely do not want one again? unless of course new people have moved in? I just think it's pestering people.
I'm really bricking it about recanvassing, I had a few people be really horrible when I first started out, I had one road were out of 20 houses only 4 wanted a book again and the rest said they didn't want anything again.
I'm guessing the people who don't return books I don't go back to, thats easy but I'm just puzzled about the people who said no intially...
Was wondering whether I should recanvas some areas using old books (don't have many though!) and then if they don't come back it's no loss? if I do that though should I attach a little note?

I've decided to leaflet these people who said no - unless they were rude in which case definitely not going back with anything, but that was only a few people. The leaflet will say something like: Avon requires that I re-canvas my allocated area every so often. I'm delivering this leaflet instead of a brochure because you said in the past you would prefer not to receive brochures. If circumstances have changed and you would like to be added to my round, please get in touch (contact details). Otherwise, sorry to have bothered you. I might add a bit about the guarantee and personal service - may as well sell myself even if I can only do it through a leaflet.

I'm going to drop this leaflet once a year before Christmas.

Actually I had some non-returners turn into customers - 5 of them. Plus lots of other people managed to leave the book out, so I'm carrying on with them - it's like starting from scratch again, giving them so many chances to order etc...

People on the re-canvas list get a backorder book. Still needs prepping and collecting, but it's not so bad if I lose it.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Ok - what are your favourite ways for getting new customers/selling more?

Trying to update my hints and tips and just want to check if there is anything I've missed - once it's finished I'll post the updated copy on here.

I have two ways, casually mentioning I need to do my deliveries often prompts people to ask for a book ;) or, when discussing something ie foundation or frizzy hair or whatever I might say "Have you tried x product from Avon? I find it really good / have customers that swear by it" If they say no, I offer to order it for them to try, pointing out that they have nothing to lose as they can return it for their money back in full if they aren't happy with it. I then enclose a book with their order :p Has served me well so far!!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

I recanvassed houses who had said no last campaign...... They hadn't had books for at least 7 campaigns, but I forgot to take out my calling book and so I decided just to go for it. Only 2 wrote about not wanting a book again, all put there books out, with only one card left and I got 2 orders from previous nos, one I remember had said she ordered from a different rep so guessing her rep may have given up :T

So two new customers off one road  .......def. Worth recanvassing :rotfl:

I won't put a book through anyone who has said no every campaign, but def. Worth doing it every few months as circumstances do change!

I quite like the leaflet idea but if they have a book people have chance to have a flick through, they have to do something to get a book from a leaflet and if the call oto action isn't strong enough then they won't but they might have had a flick through with a cuppa!

Re-canvasing! And telling people that I am an Avon rep. Always having a book on me so if they are interested I can give them a book straight away! :rotfl:

I agree that people are lazy! :D and I definitely prefer to put out books to re-canvasees and regulars. But I made a promise not to go back with a book if people took the time to tell me they weren't interested. It sounds a bit simplistic and if I hadn't made such a promise in the first place I would be going back, but I don't want to go back on my word especially when most people who said no were so nice, which is why it has to be leaflets for me.

Does anyone have any male customers/other halfs that could say yay or nae to the mens products? My boyfriend's looking at some but he's not sure whether they're any good or not. I told him about the guarantee but he still told me to ask on here!

Hubby uses the body sprays and after shaves and really likes them. He did try he mens shampoo but didn't like it so it's going back (he seems to prefer my herbel essenses!)

My friends hubby uses the men's face moisturisers and finds them brill. He works outdoors and so needs a barrier on his face.

What products are your bf looking at getting? I tend to just order stuff for hubby and if he doesn't like them just send them back.
