And while I'm here I thought I'd give my thoughts on the FlipFlops, Last campaign I ordered the black and the white, can't remember which was which size though but one's 6/7 and the other is 7/8, haven't worn either of them past trying them on but strangely the 6/7's feel bigger than the 7/8's???0

Thank you Monaebrook for the slipper info!! Lol I will be putting mine through the wash asap!
My awkward lady is driving me mad! She said she would leave money out for me in a specific place and i could call any day or time. I told her it would be today, and thanked her. So I go today... and it's not there  and she isn't in. Starting to regret his one big time! All for a £6 order, and she isn't interested in seeing a book either, so doubtful future ordersWish I had won £17 million on the lotto!
Glad someone could finally help you re. the slippers. I've never bought/used them so didn't have a clue although unless there's a 'Do Not Wash' label somewhere, you could always avail yourself of the 90 day no-quibble guarantee if they didn't come out OK.
Good luck with your problem customer; it sometimes becomes a bit of a challenge to actually manage to deliver orders. Hope you're dropping a note in every time you call so she knows how much effort she's putting you to. Maybe something along the lines of "Sorry to have missed you again; won't be around this way again now until next month so if you would like your order, please call me on ......... and let me know when you'd like to collect it" might help. (And depending on how 'wicked' you are you can choose to be in or not!) :rotfl:Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Yes, seems the same as mine then. I ordered the black 7/8 ones for someone, who takes a size 8 shoe, but they were shorter than my white 6/7's so they went straight back.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi :wave:I'm new to Avon well don't get signed up till tue. I know a little as my sister used to do it for friends and family.
I was just wondering how long do you leave the books with people?
I can't wait to get started. Been getting in contact with all my sisters old customers and so far my mum has looked on line and has a £38 order and 8 want books so thats a start.
Right off to carry on reading this thread for ideas.GC July £250/0 -
I've just had my first problem customer - well they've been a problem for a few campaigns but this time I have to return their goods. I didn't get their latest book back, either. With the most recent delivery attempt there might have been a misunderstanding (husband said I was clear, though), but even so I tried again after that to deliver, told them when I'd be there, and nothing.
I also do the "miss a campaign" thing - to move unreliable people onto backorder so they won't have missed a brochure but it's not a big deal if I lose the book.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I leave books with people for quite a while compared to some. I do collections on the same day of the week to get people into a routine. So a week when I get my delivery goes like this:
MON - delivery day, deliveries in the evening to 1/2 my customers, put out books at the same time to customers and non-customers
WED - deliveries to the rest, drop books to the rest
SUN - if I've given books to non-customers on the Monday or Wednesday I usually pick them up at this point.
MON - collect in books from stragglers
TUE - re-prep the books I got in on Sunday and Monday
WED - put those books out to more non-customers, a new area, or use for recanvassing
SUN - collect the books I put out on the Wednesday, plus collect all the customer's ones in (so customers have had them for nearly 2 weeks)
Things are quite busy for me at the moment because I'm doing a new area and recanvassing. At a quieter time I'll give my books out on the delivery days, then the next weekend I won't have anything to do, and then the Sunday after that I'll collect books. So only 1 big collection per campaign.
At the beginning a quicker turnaround - maybe getting 2 uses per week - is better if you can manage it just to get the orders coming in and your area covered (don't feel under pressure to cover all streets you've been given in the first campaign - almost impossible!). Some people will always say "I didn't have time to look", but I get that after leaving it with people for a week! Sometimes I notice customers have had one for 2 weeks and not read it.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. Some reps do 'one stop shopping'; saves them time but they need a book for every potential customer so one to think about further down the line when your sales will merit it. At the other end of the scale is the 'restrict their time and make the book precious' thought process i.e. the longer you leave them with the book the less 'precious' it is. If you only leave it a couple of days then most customers, who want to look at it, will make time somewhere along the line.
Just work it into your own schedule how it best fits with your life. Getting into a routine is a good idea though. I tend to collect books on Tuesdays; do two drops every campaign and split my customer base into current and back campaign so I only ever need to buy 20/30 books to service 80/100 (potential) customers. I managed PC within 10 camps and never ever bought more than 30 books a campaign, whereas I've just met another PC rep in our town and she orders the PC 20 pack (100 books) @ £11+

I tend to tell people covering territory to leave the books for about 2 days, so that it's long enough for most people to have looked (if they want longer they'll tell you), but its not so long as people will just chuck the books away. Plus it means you can cover a large number of houses in a short time. Then when you know who actually wants a book you can leave them for longer, I tend to leave them with my customers for about a week.
I've had some new streets to canvass (been an avon rep for over 2 years now), delivered them yesterday afternoon for collection monday afternoon, means I can get them re-prepped and delivered again towards the end of the week to get the last of the houses covered.
For family - leave the books with them for as long as possible, means they can show it to people they know to help you get a few more sales.
In time, you'll work out your own system. MC gets away with few brochures, I find it easier to have a book per potential customer, so I have 100 people to take books to (inc f&f, and I have everyone on the current brochure now to make it easier to do more on facebook) so I buy 100 books. I find it easier cos it means I can do one drop, everyone gets it picked up on the same day and then I'm done. But with both me & OH working full time shifts, it's the best way for us. Everyone has their own way, theres no set way for everyoneAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Welcome to the thread, turbo, and well done for finding it! :j I recommend it to all my team members; can't see many of them contributing though! :rotfl:
Lots of hints/tips on here; much more useful in my opinion than Avon Connects (but maybe AC will catch up at some point!)

MarsdenCuckoo wrote: »Thanks, NB. Never thought about the mobile/texting route but am on PAYG rather than contract so maybe not a good way for me to go anyway.
depending who your PAYG package is with, you get sims offering unlimited texts (although this has now changed to 3000 or less, check the small print), unlimited calls for £10 per month, etc.
So you could still do this, without it costing you money.0
