Thanks Alan! It does sound really good. I'm an Amelie fan, and I knew it would be different to that, but it's had such a bashing on some of the freebie boards, I began to wonder!

As far as I am concerned, this promotion was a complete joke, and hasn't helped improve my opinion of play.com or the independent newspaper, which I'm sure is the opposite of their intention.

Well when I applied it certainly didn't "Demand a price" as you so dramatically put, it's your own negativity and greed that makes you unthankful for the air in your lungs. I'm sure you can live without a DVD.
As for deception, isn't applying for an offer that you don't qualify for deception? You come into the world with nothing and that's all some deserve.

I'm sure everyone will get their dvds when play.com get's some new stock. If not it'll be a shame but no-one has lost anything.

I'd been thinking about getting Amelie (although I had heard it could be a bit saccharine in places) - I love the earlier quirky stuff from Jeunet & Caro (Delicatessen, City of Lost Children) so if Jeunet's AVLE is darker than Amelie I suspect I'll enjoy it more... if it doesn't come, well ,it was only a freebie!

Get Amelie, you won't be disappointed, it isn't as dark as the two you mentioned but it has the same quirky style and will warm your cockles. Honestly its a film I could watch again and again and each time it gives me the warm fuzzies.

You can get it for less than a fiver from hmv and if you use quidco and some vouchers from the voucher board you could probably get it for less than £4
