Pity. It can't be less interesting than episode 1005 on how awful Vodafone is. The numbers and length, complexity and consistency of each complaint already speaks volumes to that effect.
  • Vodafone - Please can you escalate this to a high section of the tech department.

As paying users of the network why can't we have the option to select 2G or 3G or 4G on the Apple iPhone?

Apple make the facility available, but it is the carrier (Vodafone) who have to make this option available to the end user.

At present all Vodafone customers only have the option to turn off 4G and revert to 3G.

Lots of discussions on the web, but the end consensus is that Apple have made it available, but the carrier needs to send out new Carrier Settings to enable the actual menu in the iPhone.

    Please help!

    I'm writing to Watchdog too.

    I knew it!

Just had a text from my son saying there was a letter waiting for me from Vodafone!

Guess what, they can't verify security on my account, can they, according to their staff everyone on here, but lo and behold in the letter, it tells me that they're confirming the Direct Debit and when they're going to take money out of my account!!

I knew as soon as it was time for taking money, they'd miraculously find the account!!

For your info, the reference numbers are:

    70087116691001

There's also: Vodafone Direct Service No: 439374.

There's also a ref under the signature of: BPYDDC

And finally, there's a number next to my name, which is: 000608.

Now, are you still going to tell me you can't find my account??

Thank you, please drop watchdog a line, if we all stand together then they will have to listen to us.
I phoned vodafone again tonight and guess what, yet another story that's totally different to the other four stories!

I'm sure they're trained to spout BS at will. It's scary that a company can have that much power over folks lives.

They have escalated my complaint for the second time. I'm still waiting for the descision on the first one from last month.

lets spread the word and get this dealt with :T

  • Hello Jenny

I just emailed you after having getting the usual treatment from the call centre/online chat service.

The gist of it is that I received (only) two contradictory texts last month regarding my data usage, one on 8 October saying I had nearly used up my "extra" data and then one on 31 October saying I was 27 days into my monthly plan and had 50mb left. A few days later, I was sent a bill of £370!!

I have never before gone materially over my usage limit and I am completely shocked. Combined with the contradictory messages from Vodafone, there is no way I could have used this much data as I am connected to wifi at home and at work, where I am 95% of the time, so I am at a complete loss as to what's happened.

In addition, when I phoned up the call centre, not only were they completely uninterested in helping me at all, they were unbelievably rude, and insinuated that I was lying to them!

    Please help me!
  • Hi All,

So my Dad has been using the Chat service to try and cancel the number he/we have already cancelled 4 times and still being charged for to the tune of £1000+..

He just got duped with the classic 'chat service down for maintenance' routine, but got a lotl in writing now confirming he's been done over by these organised criminals (vodafone).

One thing I would recommend you all to do is send in Subject Access Requests (SAR) to Vodafone which means they have to legally send you print outs, transcripts etc of EVERY single piece of data and communication that has ever occured on your account under the Data Protection Act.. Then you will have your full legal case in writing within 40 days time courtesy of the organised criminals themselves! They will not like this one bit and will try to buy your silence by means of a refund or other monetary compensation.

I've done it with Natwest and it works, never seen backtracking like it!

Good Luck fighting the VODAFONE ORGANISED CRIME UNIT

    Hi Ekimnitsau

Would that be in writing then, as I suspect we wouldn't get anywhere on the phone judging by our previous experiences lol.

    Thanks for that info.

Isn't that as likely as getting a manager to fulfil the infamous call-back promise?
