  • I was asked how Vodafone destroyed the files as this can only happen after 6 years. The debt was only 6 months old when the debt collectors got involved as far as I know as I do not have access to the account. It was for £120.00. I believe the debt accrued for 9 months? so tops 15 months, I am not sure if the contract was cancelled or if they cancelled it.

But in anycase the debt was statisfied by me last August after 15 months.

Anymore than that I have no idea.

    Hi ceejayblue,

If you need some help, let me know. Just follow the link here and include WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.

    Hi Superherogirl,

If the contract is not under your name, the debt would not belong to you but the actual account holder. If it has been changed over to your name, you would have had to complete a Transfer of Ownership form to take it over.

We will still have record of the account and will be able to see all the details of the debt.

So that I can take a look at what has happened, I will need to check the account and advise accordingly. If you could email me via the link here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject, I will be able to do so.

If you could also include a link to your post and a contact number, I will get in touch.

    Kind regards,

    Heidi

Last august, I took out my first phone contract with vodafone (For a blackberry curve). I went into the Worthing shop with my dad (who was paying for it), we was asked to sit down to arrange the contract.
All was fine and simple, and as a seeming bonus, the salesman said that I would be given a free months insurance, but not to worry about cancelling as it would cancel itself after the first month. Needless to say, it never cancelled. My dad saw the price being £7 over each month, but never compared his statements to see it was always the same price (I got the blame for going over my contract). I wouldve been able to see that I wasn't going over the contract had I been able to log into the site - I was always instructed that the site wasn't working and to check in a couple of days. Never believe what they tell you, been paying £7 a month because of the salesman's lies!!!

To their credit, vodafone have sorted out this issue quickly. They are refunding the money over the remainder of the contract. We're happy with this outcome.

Update: Heidi has been extremely helpful getting this sorted. For obvious reasons though I still don't trust Vodafone's other departments so I'll wait to see if my credit record is updated in the next few weeks before I celebrate! I'll update when this happens. Thanks in the meantime Heidi.
  • hi, i have just spent 30 mins on the phone to vodaphone call centre, who i found out in the end was in egypt, the woman didnt understand me very well, anyway we (wife & i ) have been with vodaphone for years and a few months ago got new htc sensations phones on contract, I have had to hard reset my phone - 4 times now, and its still playing up, my wife has had 2 replacement htc sensations and now the 3rd one she has is playing up, so we went to vodaphone shop to see what they could do, we were told speak to customer services and were told they will probably replace them for you with different handsets.:T

so after a long and slow conversation with this lady in egypt, going through exactly what has been happening and asking her if they could replace the handsets with new ones, but different models, and that I would extend my contract if need be, as we still have 9 months to go on it, I was told no, we can send them for repair again.

this is ridiculous, im not so annoyed about mine but my wife has had 2 replacement phones surely that counts as something is wrong with them, but no, so when our contract is up i will be looking at going to a different provider, and i will be making a complaint to vodaphone, but that wont get me anywhere cos they dont give a toss, so i will have to send both phones for repair which means we need to buy cheap pay as you go cos we need phones in the interim.
thanks vodaphone for messing us loyal customers around who have been with you for years, it shows how much you care.

    Hi gibb100503,

It’s disappointing to hear that this has not been resolved for you and you still have a handset that isn’t working as it should.

If you could get in touch with me via the link here and include WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject, I will be happy to look into this further for you.

Can you also include a link to your post and a contact number so I am able to get in touch.

    Many thanks,

As well as the proratered billing where your have been charged one month full line rental and part of a month to bring you in line with your billing date, you have probably got some out of bundle charges.

If you check through your online bill, you will be able to see all the extra charges and will know exactly what you have been charged for.

If the line rental is discounted, you will see the line rental showing at the full price of the contract and any agreed discount will show as a credit at the end of the bill.

When you started your contract, you would have received an email detailing everything which was agreed, with your contract start and end date, monthly line rental any agreed discount etc.

You need to check your bill.
  • Wow - you must be dealing with a totally different Vodafone to me! Half the people on here can't access their on-line billing; I've had numerous contracts with them and NEVER had what you describe; an email from them - NEVER!!! As for making sense of their bills; sometimes you can, and sometimes they make them up as they go along.
