Vodafone complaints

My husband is in a contract with Vodafone, he's been with them for years but they rang him in January 2010 and asked him if he'd like an upgrade, he said he would and they upgraded him to the Iphone which cost him £200 and an extra £10 a month (£35 instead of the £25 he was paying).
Fast forward to July this year when his phone wouldn't work, it was sent for repair and returned to say it was out of warranty and would cost him £150 to have it repaired. Obviously he's not keen to spend £150 on a phone that's now quite old and when his contract expires in January. His account has been frozen with vodafone because he hasn't paid his bill because he can't phone them because the phone is broken.
Anyway, I made him call and try and settle the account, i'm worried about blacklisting on our good credit history. The Collections Department say there's nothing they can do, despite him having no phone he has to pay what he owes and then the monthly fee up until the end of the contract which they say is in March because although he's been paying the more expensive tariff since January 2010 apparently he had to do two months at the end of his old contract too.... anyone fallen asleep yet? lol!
I know all Vodafone care about is getting the money from their customers, regardless of whether their customers are actually receiving any sort of service from them but is there any person at Vodafone who cares about their customers and can offer any help with the situation? Does anyone have an e-mail address or contact details for someone at Vodafone who is an intelligent human being and who actually cares? Even if they offered to send him an old phone hanging around in a corner somewhere so he could actually receive the service he's still paying for it'd be a start, then perhaps he can receive their texts telling him he owes them money.0 -

Have you had the data you required from my email yet?
Still await an answer on this
As far as I am concerned I can ask for my PAC code from today, but Vodafone are stating my contract didnt start until May 10
This is despite showing evidence that my handsets were delivered on 8th March!
Welcome to my world mercman, was the last contract an upgrade? They seem to like to continue old contracts despite charging the new contract prices [resisting the urge to swear]
Hope you get it sorted.0 -

Hi mercman1969,
If you could send a reply to my previous email, I will chase this up for you today.
Hi Holz2112,
I am sorry to hear that you weren't fully informed about the allowance on your price plan when taking the contract.
So that I can help with this, can you drop me an email to the address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject and include a link to this thread.
Hi Woody's Girl,
If you send me an email via the details above, I can also look into this for you in more detail.
Many thanks,
Heidi

As far as I am aware, i await your response
Please let me know if you require anything else

I've just moved from Vodafone to giffgaff after being with Vodafone for over 10 years. I wasn't impressed with the way Vodafone handled the PAC request (taking over 24 hours to respond to my online request sent when signed in to their website and, even then, they were only asking for yet more information) and eventually had to call customer services. I'm now pleased to find that I'm getting a much better deal than Vodafone can offer and much better battery life on my phone thanks to O2's better coverage both at home and at work (giffgaff use the O2 network).
My wife will also be moving away from Vodafone as soon as she's used up all her calling credit so that we can take advantage of the in network free calls as well as all the other improvements giffgaff seem to offer. And no - I have no connection with giffgaff other than as a new, so far satisfied customer.

Hi mercman1969,
Could you forward on the email in question to the email address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject. I don't appear to have received it.
Once I have that, we can look at resolving your issues.
Many thanks,

Had so many problems with signal, phone call droppings, one-rings, pestering calls, repair etc, and now vodafone are wanting to charge me as of next month an extra £1 on my monthly bill for changes I simply do not want, ive been trying to get out of my contract since they would not help to repair my phone (they claimed I had water damaged it) but infact id had problems with the phone from start (possible warehouse issue I imagine) so unless on my tarrif I can decrease my bundle or cost im going to have one last push at cancellation, theyve been nothing but unhelpful which is a shame as on previous contracts they've been okay but this is the final straw, im currently on the
My planMonthly cost
£35.75(Inc. VAT)
Your Plan comes with 600 minutes and 1GB Mobile Internet
With a HTC Desire.
Hopefully a vodafone representative can help as ive had nothing but awful dealings with instore and phone help.0 -
Has anyone had any success with complaining to Otelo about vodafone? I've been locked in an email tussle with Vodafone since July and I honestly think we may be going backwards.
Basically they removed mobile internet from my account without telling me and it ending up costing me a fair old whack. Getting them to actually respond in a coherent manner, let alone address the issues at hand has been well-nigh impossible. I don't want to talk over the phone (if I lose my rag then I'll end up feeling bad - they're only doing their job, however badly), and after all it was a phone call to them that caused them to mess my account up in the first place, so from here on in I want everything in black and white.
I've just fired off a (hopefully) final email to them in the hope that the response this time might be both understandable and relevant to the case in hand, but I'm not holding out too much in the way of hope if I'm honest. So, does anyone have any experience of Otelo? Am I expecting too much that they could look at the facts, give Voda a slap and tell them to give me my money back?0 -
Hi luckyj,
I am sorry to hear that you have had some ongoing issues.
I will be more than happy to look into these for you if you drop me an email to the address here. You will need to include WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject to make sure it comes to me personally and also include a link to your post.
Hi MelesShuffle,
If you have your email reference number, I can take a look into this for you and help to get it resolved. If you don't have the reference then can you forward on your previous correspondence to the email address here. I can then deal with this directly.
Many thanks,
Heidi
