Thought I would share my current experience with Vodafone, been with them for over 10 yrs, same number, same tarrif. New job means company mobile as I use my own mobile very lightly then really no need for it anymore. telephoned Vodafone on the 13 April, was verbally told that I would have to email my request but no charges other than paying rest of month and following month line rental, cancellation to take effect end of May. Emailed next day, asked to telephone :) - then told ETF would aplly as contracted till end of July. Asked that call be listened to, since then I have exchanged numerous emails with the contact centre, I have repeatedly asked to escalate the issue, the standard of written communication I have received is laughable. They made me some sort of offer yeaterday but the life of me I have no idea what!! ''we did tried to'', ''if you accept I'll do the needful''??
promises to get back to me in 3-5 days, 2 weeks later had to contact again. I can only assume they have huge turnover of staff and very poor training.
Have genuinely been shocked by level of service and standard of communication especially from managers?

    Hi Widelats,

That's awesome news! Glad to hear it's all sorted out :-)

    Hi SeeAreEff,

  • When I contacted Vodafone about a problem I was having sending picture texts to my DH( still unable to send him mms) , I was offered sky tv on my mobile. I was not told there would be a charge for this.

I have now been billed each month for the last 4 months for sky tv. I do not want it. I do not and never have used it. Each month I ring and ask for it to be cancelled. Each month I am credited for the previous month but the charge appears again. I cannot use Vodafone live and the sky subscription does not appear in my subscriptions so I cannot cancel through my online account.

I am disgusted that I'm having to ring each month and still a relatively simple request is not actioned, despite the fact that they tell me each time it has been done. I even emailed through contact us...... You guessed it....... Ignored. This shabby customer service, makes me think next time I am due for renewal, i'll be moving elsewhere instead of staying with Vodafone again.

Got a N97 mini on contract for 24months(started Nov 09') and was reluctant to as I said to the salesperson that I didn't think the phone would last that long she said don't worry it will have a warranty for the same length as the contract. So in the Feb it developed a fault a quick google search and a bit of engineer knowledge told me the screen needed replacing as it was a known fault with the screen beveling. Was gonna just fix it myself by buying a new screen but thought I may damage other stuff so as it's in warranty sent it to Vodafone 2 days later got it back unfixed with a grainy close up photo of a circuit board with an arrow pointing at a point on the PCB saying it had water damage. If I was naive I would have accepted that and been paying another 20 months for a broken phone. So I rang up Vodafone and wouldn't accept there diagnosis so they suggested phoning Nokia care who gave me instruction to drop it at a care point (was a local carphonewarehouse) who attempted to fix and said they couldn't so was sending it to Nokia. 2 weeks later got phone back working perfect with a job report saying replaced touch screen. Now that was Feb 2010 and phone has worked perfect since so the water damage hasn't materialised since then. Was gonna complain because I was livid. But don't see any point. Just gonna see out my contract and move to another operator. Been with Vodafone for 8 years and they won't be getting anymore of my business and I tell as many people as I can friends and family that is. Oh by the way my previous phone was deemed BER with water damage but I accepted that and done without it for the last 6 months of the contract I wonder now if it actually was.
Regards not a happy vodafone customer

Unfortunately, 'water damage' is being used as an excuse more and more widely by many unscrupulous so called 'engineers'. I wonder if they deliberately wet the indicator themselves to make their lives easier and avoid doing the job that they are supposed to do.

I telephoned Vodafone customer service desk and requested my PAC code in order to move to a different network.

The customer service person said he would send a PAC code within the next 2 hours but I would not be able to transfer my number to another network on PAYG.

I queried why I would not be able to transfer my number to PAYG on another network and he stated that my existing Vodafone sim is a contract and therefore a PAC code would not work when transferring to PAYG.

He said he could issue me the PAC code but I would have to phone Vodafone again in 2 weeks to transfer it to PAYG before getting a PAC code which would allow me to transfer to PAYG on another network.

Can the Vodafone representative confirm that Vodafone will issue me a PAC code as requested in my telephone call and that it will allow me to transfer to PAYG on an another network.

I've checked on various websites and no where does it mention that there is a separate PAC code for PAYG or Contract mobiles.

I then received a sales call from Vodaphone outbound sales offering me a deal to stay, I explained to him that I wasn't happy about the explanation given to me by the first guy and wanted to confirm the PAC code would allow me to change to PAYG. He said he would personally look into it and the information given to me was incorrect.
I did not hear back from him.

I sent an email to query this to vodafone from their webpage about this issue and they replied back asking for further security answers which I replied to but have not heard anything further from them.

I don't know if my PAC code is valid, whether I can use it to transfer to PAYG, whether the second guy is looking into the matter, whether I am going to get a reply to my email.

Why do Vodafone make it so easy to join and give false information when you want to leave?

This is utter nonsense. No need to wait for Vodafone representative here confirming this or wait for a reply to your e-mail.

Never ever agree to a deal they offer over a phone. Demand everything to be sent in writing before you agree.

It's a rhetoric question. All networks try to stop you from leaving. At VF this is worse because of the extreme incompetence of the low-level CS agents.

Just a quick question for VF Reps, for those ITK.

Can I import a ICS (calendar) file from my PC onto my SE X10 and into my calendar on the phone

    if so, how?

    I don't think it's a 'quick' question.
I am no expert, but a quick google search for "iCalendar android" throws in the following:
