No, after requesting PAC and being told that i couldn't if the contract was being cancelled i informed them to just cancel the account. I did not ask them to remove my request and they should of at least asked me if i wanted to remove the request before doing so!0

My wife has been a Vodafone customer for about 10 years without any complaints - that was until her new phone started falling apart....
Her new upgrade which was the HTC Desire S lasted all of 21 days before the screen started to come away from the casing.
What then followed was a nightmare including being promised a new phone, being told she her phone was fixed and ready for collection (it wasnt - they had just returned it to the Vodafone shop in a box).
Today she received her replacement phone which is a refurbished Desire S - complete with scratches on the casing.
After spending a large chunk of her morning on the phone Vodafone are adamant they will not replace it with a new one, even though she was given the assurance earlier in the saga they would.
So my wife now has 21 months of a £25pm contract to see out having enjoyed her "brand new" smartphone experience for 21 days.
Its seems ridiculous that what was supposed to be a enjoyable experience in upgrading to her first smartphone has now turned into a stressful experience. We had expected that a brand new phone would last more than 3 weeks, and to receive a replacement which is in true second hand condition feels like a real slap in the face.
In less than a fortnight we are going on our first family summer holiday to Spain and she had been looking forward to posting updates, pics etc on Facebook so her family/friends could see them. At this rate she will be visiting the local internet cafe to do this....
At this moment her primary thought is to just cancel the contract with vodafone - does she have grounds to do so without penalty.
Alternatively can any consumer champions advise if she has any rights in this situation?
Thanks

Hi nodds,
It's really disappointing to read how unhappy your wife has been with her recent upgrade and the issues surrounding it. I would like to see if I can help with this.
Could you drop me an email to the address shown here on our profile page. For it to come to me directly, you will need to include WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.
Once I have the details I will take a look into this further for you.
Best wishes,
Heidi

I am with vodafone, along with my partner. We have 2 mobiles, a landline and broadband. Vodafone at home who do the landline and broadband are brilliant, helpful and efficient. Vodafone mobile is hit and miss. Usually a miss when you end up being put through to Egypt! Anything that deviates from the script causes confusion.
Having worked in a vodafone call centre however, I know what a difficult job it is. Manager's refuse to speak to customers. Advisers are harrassed to keep call times to an absolute minimum instead of helping you, hence they don't stay on the line and check you have been transferred correctly. Vodafone need to wake up and smell the coffee. Look after your staff, they will stay and you will have friendly efficient advisers who know their job and can help the customer. I never felt confident working there as it was so badly run.Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Getting nowhere with calls/emails to Vodafone regarding my Sure Signal which has not worked since Vodafone did a firmware update.
Has anyone ever sent a snail mail to the Newbury address and had any response?0 -
in the 4 months that i have been with vodaphone I have not had a correct bill and are getting fed up now. I have just recieved my bill which shows thats i have not gone over my free minutes but yet they have billed me for £15 + vat of calls. I dont call 0845 numbers etc and have gone through my bill and they have charged me for calls which should be free. I rang them got through to a woman who did not make any sense or understand and tried giving me a months free mobile tv and £5 credit. All I want is for my bill to be correct and I dont want to be on the phone to vodaphone every month. i am waiting for a manager or supervisor to ring me back but im not holding my breath.0

not so much a complain then a question..
how long do you recommend for a new battery charge for the X10?0 -

Until the phone says its charged and no longer. There is a real risk of damage when overcharging a lithium battery, so the phone will stop charging anyway, making a long charge pointless.0
