I am on a contract with vodaphone that was 25 per month but vat at 20% is almost taking it to £30. So I reduced it as much as I could now the plan is £20.51 per month but again vat at 20% is taking me to £26. Does the monthly cost for the pans include vat ? As on my account it says £20.51 inc vat but on the bill its says vat at 20% on £20.51 = me paying £26 on my account it says this YP2 24PBB 500m 500t 500MB
3 Jun to 2 Jul £21.28
Unlimited UK to UK texts
3 Jun to 2 Jul £0.00
Total before VAT £21.78
VAT at 20% on £21.78 £4.35
Total for this bill £26.13

I'll get the Vodafone rep over as they are super helpful - I might need to look at mine too as mine is meant to be £35pm but I always seem to pay at least £40 HMMMMMMM! xxx

I have looked on the help boards and people have been charged twice for the pay monthly but its your own fault that you didnt check it so no money returned. I am not the best with vat on bills so I am not sure if I am in the wrong in thinking that I am being charged twice for it.

There are sneaky little charges like non direct debit charges, paper statement charges etc. Might be something to look at as you will likely be able to have online only statements as well as direct debit and save a bit.

As for the vat thing, its dirty and underhanded but I doubt they are doing anything wrong, in business it is usual for prices to exclude but in personal retail you expect the prices to include vat.

Hi john I pay by direct debit each month and online statment only. I just dont get when my plan says inc vat with the price. Say if I go over by one message they take that message and add vat on the whole thing again.

    Hi Dellers,

I am sorry that there has been some confusion on the total price of your plan. The prices for the tariffs online are including the VAT but on the bill we will break it down, showing the VAT added on.

If you would like me to take a look at your account to clear up any confusion, drop me an email to the address shown here on our profile page with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject and a link to this thread.

    Many thanks,
