I have a spend to report: £1
This is because I exchanged some stuff I'd bought at the end of last year and the new stuff was £1 more.
See I had bought from New Look some purple suede platform boots (£15) and some smart black trousers (£8) but when I got home and tried everything on, the trousers were loads too big and the shoes... well they were purple suede platform boots
So I swapped (can't get refunds on sales items) them for: two pairs of knickers (£1+£1.50) a bra and matching thong (£4+£1.50), a purple velvet top (£2), a floral purple blouse (£7) and some black jeggings (but more jeans than leggings- they have pockets and a fly- £7).
So I'm currently on: £1/£200

Hello! I'd like to join this challenge please! I did try to 'go it alone' last year and spent a lot less than I have done in the past since I really had to think about what I was buying, but I lost track of it all by the summer and developed an addiction to Monsoon dresses! I did have an excuse; I'm getting married on the 18th Feb in the Dominican Republic and needed a nice holiday wardrobe since I haven't had new holiday clothes in about 5 years! Sooooo I shouldn't really need to spend that kind of money this year... fingers crossed!
I'd like to budget £350 for everything, I'm hoping to change jobs in the next couple of months and I'll need a new work wardrobe if I do which is why I've opted for a higher figure than I set myself last year.
Good luck everyone!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
hi, I would like to join for this year please
I had some Christmas money from my mum (£100) and spent most of it in Matalan - haven't been in there in years and was amazed at what I got for my money and how well it fits - I am on the short side!
Tesco's, Asda and Sainsburys don't fit so well on me, although I do get pyjamas from Sainsburys as I really like theirs.
Having just cleared out my wardrobe, I would like to commit to £240 which is £20 per month, to include undies, socks and shoes. While I have everything I need for work and winter for now, I will need summer stuff, and when I hit goal weight I will need new fab jeans - I struggle with jeans so these will cost what they cost as long as they fit! :rotfl:
I am going to try and buy something small each month so I don't have a wardrobe crisis by summer, plus so that i feel like I am having a v small treat each month. I work in the fashion industry and the design/buying girls always look fabulous - so while I don't feel pressure to keep up with trends etc, I do like to feel like I am making an effort.
good luck everyone0 -
hi little_h
I, too, work for a 'fashiony' company and feel the need to up my game this year for my work lookAnd I also need to lose some weight as I am sure that I will then have loads of options to 'shop' from my wardrobe

Okay, I have altered my signature as I need to add... £24.10 to my clothes buying so far. That sounds dreadful on the 3rd of the first month of the year! But it was jim jams x 2 and socks and undies and gloves... so not too horrendous. But at least it means I can stay away from clothes shops for a couple of months and not shout at the sock monster every morning!~Nym~

I have a purchase to confess - wow, it may do amazing things having to report to you lot
I now have a gorgeous pair of over the knee boots :j
Naughty points:
1) They were disgustingly expensive
2) I can't wear over the knee as much as I could wear knee length
Nice points AKA self-justification:
1) They were £100 less than before the sale
2) I haven't found anything cheaper that actually fits on my skinny calves and ankles (I have tried everywhere on the high street and dept stores, and was too late to get any from Duo.)
3) I mainly wear dresses anyhow so the extra length doesn't really restrict them (we shall just have to see how work react to me turning up in thighboots :rotfl:).
4) They're chocolate brown plain leather so will go with everything (I barred myself from black a few years ago) and should last for years especially if I look after them. Helpfully enough I picked up some full length boot shapers for half price in the Jones sale.
5) I absolutely love them
6) I do need a second pair of boots as I basically live in them for four months of the year and they don't get to dry out properly etc if I literally just wear the same pair every day.
I forgot to say that my mission for this year also includes looking after the clothes I have ie. making sure things are polished and dry cleaned etc. I am so fussy that the less often I have to put myself through shopping for things the better. (NB. I hate polishing so this bit may require nagging.) Eventually I will have a wardrobe review and may have to face up to a budget but it will have to wait until the MSc is over as there's only so much stress I can face at one time.
