Crazy 2011 clothes challenge

Hello ladies:wave:
Still have spent any money yet this year - am amazed, not quite sure how that's happened.
Love the idea of the freedom days , so yesterday instead of my usual jeans and 10 layers of jumper look I wore a orange Wallis dress, brown opaque tights and brown T-bar shoes. I felt brilliant!
Amazing how it can lift your spirits, gonna dig out my other dresses and shock everyone with a flash of (woolly-tighted) leg.2012 Saving challenge £1000/£400! Woo! :wave:0 -
Still no new spends to report here - did spend £15 on having boots resoled and heeled but it's maintenance and means they'll last longer, so don't feel guilty about that.
Also finally bought a rolling case for work laptop and files, since someone pointed out that I stand crooked - they are quite right and it's mainly due to having a very heavy rucksack that spends most of its time slung on one shoulder. Having straightened out I feel about 3 inches taller and it's done amazing things for my figure - motivation to get me back to Pilates again. Am debating whether case should come out of gift money that was earmarked for guilt-free clothes allowance, but am feeling resentful as it was more of a necessity than a want, so might allow myself to keep half the amount for clothes. Haven't seen much I like in the shops and also haven't properly gone through my summer stuff yet to find what I need, but there is a tunic on the Joe Browns website that looks fab.
Freedom days just not happening yet as haven't had time to investigate wardrobe properly - and anyway it's been pretty well cleared when I got winter clothes out. Have worn £7 charity shop dress and had compliments on it though

great news rosa -
definitely dont count the case - you wouldnt wear it and i would class it as medical0 -
Rosa I wouldn't count the case, as Lula says, you won't actually be wearing it and you have bought it for specific reasons, not just a whimsical purchase (I'm with you on the weight of laptops, hate lugging mine around)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

'Tis true I won't technically wear it - so will side with majority opinion and keep budget for guilt-free clothes instead :j

There might have been a certain amount of whim involved in picking the bright red one with the stripey lining though
after all I wouldn't want to confuse it with all the endless black cases

Hi all
Yep Rosa - im in the logic not to count that as its something you did truely need for medical reasons as poor posture can cause no end of problems so what you brought a pretty one. Only thing I would possibly consider is, if the red one was a big difference in price to the black one, maybe declare the difference but thats about itplus its not clothes anyway lol.
Well, went shopping with the girls today. I have seen loads of stuff I absoloutly love, shoes in next, OMG how lovely is the red herring section in Debenhams. But nope... no clothes spends to declare. Only thing I brought was some face bronzer at £16 - i know i could have possibly got one cheaper elsewhere, but i figured in the past i've spent so much Money on cheaper makeup options and theyve never worked so it could have turned out to be false economy. Plus I only need it once a year anyway!
made the decision that although my budget does include makeup - I am only going to include non-essentials, so such as eyeshadow cos its pretty, lipglosses cos they was parly paid for with number 7 vouchers etc.
Is that a cop out?
So - im down to £50 left for this monthsuprised how well im doing. there is a couple of things I would really like to be buying, get lots of compliments when I wear fancy tights so would love to get a couple more pairs, cos my size i find only debenhams and marks and sparks are a good fit though, again could try and find another option but iv wasted so much money in the past on ones that didnt fit properly.

Lula,
I'd love to join the 2011 Challenge please. My target for the year is £250 - I have far too many clothes in my wardrobe but I am still looking to replace my winter boots, which finally fell to pieces.
I look forward to catching up with how everyone has everyone else has been doing so far.I wanna be Mortgage Free by February 20130
