  • is it only me who thinks gok has lost it?Last night he used £300+ worth of diamonte and took two days to apply to a mesh top.Which of us would dare to do that even if a/ it would not wipe out at least a years budget and b/ presuming we had a tailors dummy to do it on?
    Rosemary54 - I wouldn't have bothered buying the £30 mesh top to start with!lol.

Maybe we ought to ask Lula Hula to invite Gok onto our forum so he can see where the REAL fashionista bargainistas hang out?

£300 Gok:eek: - I could do it with glue, glitter and a hessian sack (or ones of those 80's t-bag t shirts if anyone can remember them) - and still have change from a fiver ( but then it would eat into my £100 budget so I would obviously try and get stuff freecycle first:A) - bring it on Gok!

    Hi Everyone!
I have not posted since joining because I am proud to say I have only bought clothes wise one pair of boot/ shoes in the Clarks sale for £22.50! I am going to spend only £100 pounds this year on clothes. However, I have been to a few jumble sales and bought clothes for 30p an item, so I am not going to include them! I also bought a top for 50p in a charity shop. I have joined weight watchers and have lost 25 LBS so far. I need to lose another 20LBS so I don't want to buy a lot of new clothes till I have lost all that weight.
I am on such a tight budget I need to keep to my goal.
    Best wishes everyone

Whoo! I'm unofficially popping in to announce I was inspired for a Freedom Wednesday today. Wore some jeans I haven't worn for a bit (well a couple of weeks, but I do tend to live in my jeans so they [STRIKE]all[/STRIKE] most get worn lots) with a top I bought from Primarni a couple of years ago but haven't worn that often - which is odd as everytime I do, I get compliments on it (for Primarni it really does fit nicely and looks far more expensive than it was). Its kind of a blue smock/tunic with bright little flowers on it. Teamed it with a beige wooly cardi from Zara, and flat black boots. I looked very 60's - was just missing the flower garland and some John Lennon glasses :rotfl:

Made a change from my usual jeans and t-shirt :)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I had a look on his website today at clothes he recomended for each look,I only got as far as the metalic, and both the jacket and skirt were old stock in sales and only available in a couple of sizes so that was a waste of time:mad:

    Morning All

Am wearing the green skirt (which is mid-calf rather than the maxi I thought it was) which haven't worn for about a year with opaque tights (rather the worse for wear but have new ones on order), black v neck tee shirt (not worn for aaaaaaages).

Not only that, have just changed into my little Sherbert shoes (bargain £10 in sale a year ago) which are sort of 30ish style heel with 2 straps across the arch, sort of like Rachel Weiss has on in The Mummy films. Haven't been able to wear them cos right foot still a bit swollen from bunion and other bits & bobs foot op last April (apparently can take 2 years to go back to normal). couldn't get them on b4 Christmas but can now.

No one else in yet, so no one realises I have legs (normally wear trousers).........

Also, I found a black not-too-thick pretend-woolen type skirt in cupboard all squished up AND a 3/4 sleeve not-to-thick caramel coloured wrap around jumper - :idea:there's an outfit just waiting to be worn with yesterdays tan boots. am going to dig them out at the weekend and get them all nicely washed and ironed for next Thursday.

I love this challenge and want to say thank you to Lula-Hula for coming up with it:T

I haven't had a freedom day this week - might have a go for it tomorrow in a skirt (black knee length, worn twice had for 5yrs) and a stripey jumper (worn often) and dig out some suitable footwear with a neat dressy-ish skirt and black tights in a very casual place of work where most people wear jeans to work.

Why do I feel so unconfident to wear this? Its weird when I am confident in all other aspects of life. As I type I realise its about how I look and how much I want to blend back in again and not stand out. Weird eh?

Will I be brave enough to wear something different to work instead of my usual uniform worn week by week - lets see if I am
