  • Thanks for the Red pointer MiaowMiaow, will look out for that. I suspect most of my work clothes are necessary but the rest might be a different story...

and I have £7 to declare on a red jersey top from Dotty P's. Just for pj top or around the house with yoga pants.

I also confess to trying on a fab poppy print dress http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33053&storeId=12552&productId=2272497&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208783&parent_categoryId=226988&sort_field=Relevance&pageSize=20
but it was wearing me. I might try the black one, even though I gave up wearing black years ago - maybe it's time for a taste again.

  • Hi misselvis
    welcome to the challenge!

Went shopping with mum yesterday - a rarity.
Spent £4.97 on 2 tops, 3 pairs of earrings and 1 woollen tunic top.
    How?
25% off clothing atm plus used my points.
    Have updated siggy.
Concerned how much of my budget I've spent. Hadn't realised quite how much I spend on clothes/how often I buy them until joining this challenge last month...

morning ladies, just wonder which one of us will be the 1st to make Gok's little lace number?think if I tried that I would be arrested for indecent exposure:rotfl:His idea of cheap clothes is somewhat different to mine:rotfl:
loved Britz raspberry outfit, would never of thought of teaming raspberry with turquoise but it really worked.

cold ,wet day again here:(am off to aqua fit but may stray into the Next shop as got a £10 voucher:).........this is a shop next to big tesco and there is only tesco, choce and next there but it is a nice one and seems to have better stock than the city centre one.Found it depressing to shop this week as still lots of tatty old sale stuff and not much summer stuff near me and as off to Tenerife (sorry to leave you all behind in the cold and wet!)could do with a few nice new items:)

    Hi all

Not posting much but still keeping with the challenge. Officially I still haven't spent any of my allowance although I have to confess I have bought quite a lot... whoops

The reason (confession time:o) is that at Christmas I was given a load of vouchers for M&S about £100 worth. Despite much searching I couldn't find what I wanted (well not at a price which I was prepared to pay) in there so have decided to use the vouchers for food spends and then spend the equivalent elsewhere

Hit the charity shops and got
2 dresses, pure wool tailored winter coat, 3 skirts, 2 bags, 2 fleeces, cardi, brand new gym top, knitted tunic top and 3 shirts. All in brand new condition and FAB!
Then went to Sains and stocked up on some summer vest tops cos I find that once their first batch of sizes is sold, they don't get more in later and I struggle to find ones to fit well (big bust, small frame so the shoulder straps on the bigger sizes often make the top hang down too far;))

Need to count up the damage but still definately under the £100. Only trouble is it may have awakened my love of browsing the chazza shops:D

Loving the Freedom days. Has anyone else found that they actually like their clothes more now? It seems that making more of an effort to wear things/put more unusual outfits together has made me appreciate what I have a lot more

Oopps mega ramble, will shut up now!:rotfl:
  • thanks for the welcome catslovelycats, love reading all the entries makes me more resolved to work within my budget onwards and upwards folks

well I did indeed find myself in Next(don't you hate their changeing room mirrors that show how fat you are from behind....not to mention your grey roots?.....ha ha they did not get me on the roots this week as dyed hair after last trip:rotfl:)
well I was looking for raspberry coloured things after the Gok show but of course there were non(so much for being the in colour this season)so ended up with a pair of beige linen trousers £20 ,I bought the reg length instead of my usual long so can wear with flat sandals on holiday.and a tshirt that flared out over the waist in a grey/green/pink print (could not decide which size was supposed to look right as the SA said they were baggy!)the tshirt goes okay with the pants and my green cardi from last times shop plus it will go with a pair of grey linen pants I have too :)

I had a £10 voucher so £24 to come off my total now.will have to look back to see what I am left with

    ........£207

spent an hour trying stuff on .....not exactly a freedom wednesday moment:(....more OMG you must lose weight one:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
the t shirt looks all wrong ,it goes down lower at the back and not sure whether that is the style or my big boobs putting it out of shape:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:it also looked a bit mummsy with the cardi.I know the look I want but somehow it does not always work. Now it is too dark to see properly in my bedroom so had to give up.so now have £14 to put back on my total so left with £221 :)
thought I'd got the holiday wardrobe sussed but as have now got linen pants and they are a different colour I have to re choose tops/jacket/scarf.
cos of strange feet(fat/big/screws in big toe) I am hoping to wear sandals to the airport so fingers crossed the rain finally stops or could have rather wet feet.Wore "proper" shoes today and so old leather let water in:(was telling DS2 and he looked at my feet and thought I was mad as by then was wearing mules!!

Have to add to my amount - went to Sainsburys as they have 25% off, been waiting for this for ages! Bought a vest top and a top for work - which came to £15.75.
Have added this to the total in my signature, not sure how i'm going to survive the rest of the year with only £70!!
  • Spent the first of the amount I have allowed for myself today, but got loads as I had some birthday money.
I went into White Stuff- which I LOVE- and bought 3 lovely tops, coming to £117.40. £100 of this was birthday money, so I only spent the £17.40 of my own money :j.
I also replaced my disgusting slippers with some from M&S, but had some vouchers so only had to pay another £8.

So in all have now spent £25.40, but am very chuffed with what I bought :D
    Save £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.81
  • Hello everyone  another newbie (lurker) to hopefully join in your challenge
I have been secretly doing this since 1/1/11 when I set myself a £100 goal for the whole year, and by midnight had spent £40!!
I need absolutely nothing (well, apart from linen trousers for the summer!) and my wardrobes are groaning at the hinges:rotfl:
So I would love to join in the trials and tribulations and achieve my goal of not buying clothes unnecessarily...
