  • :jgot a dress for £7 from tescos-not bad considering i was going to but it full price a few weeks ago(14). 193 left... i hope the littlewoods sale doesnt have too much i want..this challenge is going to be the hardest one i think, not really great at sewing plus i think fabric is quite expensive anyway.anyway good luck everyone i might not post that much here-trying to stay away from all things clothes related!!
£365 a year spend challenge - this has included food/clothes/beauty?? who knows where I am
    20,000 step a day challenge
  • I dont knopw if you are aware but the price of cotton has increased sharply over the last year and is starting to filter through to the high street. A lot of clothing companies have increased their prices by up tp 50% for their new seasons. Until the next harvest of cotton in autumn prices are going to rocket. Please bare this in mind when setting your challenges
  • No spends for me yet: and am really pleased as have been into town with DD to spend her Christmas money and didn't even look! I know I have more clothes than I can wear so this challenge will keep me focused. I know I will publicly have to declare my spends so will have to be able to justify it ;) Thank you Lula Hula!!
  • Hi everyone!

I bought a few things in M&S today:
Per Una big fluffy pink dressing gown £8
    Silvery-purple balcony bra £3
Long black cardigan with shawl collar £8.

I lusted over the new-season shoes they've got in at the moment. Some of them are stunning! But mostly at the £45 mark so not feasible.

I also bought some cookie monster knickers in Primark: £2.50

    Cumulative total: £23.50 (£176.50 left)

    Questions:
How many bras should a woman own? How many times do you wear a bra before you wash it? And how many amongst us wear matching knickers?

Phew, yesterday I spent all day sorting out my wardrobe - I've a massive suitcase and a couple of bags for the charity shop and a wee suitcase for swapping/£baying.

So I know I need "base layer" basics, like vest tops and t-shirts for layering. I've also only about 2 "going out" tops left.

Today I got a dress and stripey top from DPs, but it was on a £30 gift voucher from Dad so it doesn't count. The dress was originally £32 down to £20 and the top £15.

The shop assistant was lovely and processed the extra £5 voucher I had, which I realised upon reaching the checkout was out-of-date, anyway and I also got a student discount, so I've still £3.50 on the card when I expected to have to add a fiver to to it.

I do need to declare £18 a pair of work shoes though. I've been needing them for ages; I can safely say that charity shop bought wedges you have been wearing for a year are not the best shoe in this weather!). Theses are TK Maxx clearance. A kind dark silvery grey/black with a thick strap around the ankle and a chunky inch high heel, so should be perfect for keeping my work trousers from trailing the ground but ensuring I can walk and drive all day!

I have hundreds of bras! Mostly courtesy of a fluke when I forgot to take my purse when I went to M&S specifically for a bra.

By the time I got back with a means of paying they had £1 sale rack (even the packs of 2 were £1)!!!! Woohooo! So I bought as many in my size as I could (I'm a 30/32DD, so I take them where I can find them!) I think I bought 10 that day! For less than it would have cost me for the one I was originally going to buy if I'd have had my purse with me earlier in the day! Remembering that day always brings a smile to my face!

Before that I had about three bras! Which isn't enough when you are also exercsing (fairly) regularly.

I hate washing them though, I always find the straps go funny and start falling down the shoulder so I wash them as infrequently as I possibly can! Much easier not I have a drawer full of them!

Oh, and matching pants... for days when I need a boost to my self confidence, like if I'm training a big bunch of people, otherwise just co-incidently. ;) :rotfl:

No spends to report... haven't had opportunity to clothes shop and temptation turned up as the Interiors Demon instead this week. I am resisting so far but if the mohair blanket I spotted in the sale is still there next week I may cave.

    Questions:

Always matching, two knickers to each bra and they go in the wash when both knickers have been worn.

How many... that's a more difficult question. I have loads :rotfl: but I am slightly obsessive about these things. I like to match the colour to my top or dress as then it's bit less obvious if a strap goes astray or you have to bend forward for something etc. But this is probably just an excuse to have more pretty coloured underwear :D

I do find that wearing colours means they last longer than whites though.
