You're all doing well, the easiest way to cope is to just avoid clothes shops :(.

By the way tiny_courageous, I'm sure you know that Joe Browns is on quidco with a fairly decent 10% cashback ...

Dont ask how I know that ;)
  • Sounds as though eveyone is doing well so far!

I still haven't bought anything - popped into Dotty P's yesterday and tried on a few coats but they looked hideous (a combination of post-Christmas flab and unflattering styles - yuck!) so I slunk out, went home and rediscovered a coat I hadn't worn for ages that looks miles better. :j

    No guts, no glory!
  • To make matters worse I have also spent £37 on new clingy coat hangers and Clear shoe boxes to store all my lovely clothes in!
cashstrappedprincess - this is not a disaster it will probably help you in this challenge - I bought a whole load of these "clingy velvet" hangers last year and again this year - they help to store your lovely clothes in good condition and you will be able to shop in your very own boutique in your bedroom - plus the clear boxes for the shoes again protects them so they will last longer & you will be able to see at a glance what you want .

So look at that £37 spent on storage as investment for your fab clothes - it will probably save you money in the end ;)

  • Today I spent £16 - £10 on a pair of jeans and £6 on a belt. I needed the jeans as I do not own a decent pair and these will hopefully fulfill both work and play! The belt is lovely and I have noted how a belt can change an outfit so I am happy to pay £6 in the hope of making a few old outfits look updated!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

Managed to get 8 days into the New Year without clothes spending but then popped into M&S food department...which you have to walk through the clothes department to get to. You know the rest...

Not too bad though: a pair of stripey fingerless gloves for £10 - from a practical viewpoint I do suffer from bad circulation; from a fashion viewpoint they are in pretty stripes of mauve, purple and khaki with a bit of fabby glitter. And from the sales rack, a sort of dressy cape-style top in dark mink with a nice metallic embroidered bit on the front - rubbish description but it is lovely: down from £25 to £7.

Loads of things on the sale racks were down to £7 and there was still some quite nice stuff so might be worth a visit for anyone looking for a bargain.

I got seduced in the M&S sale too and bought a dress for £35 (half price).
It's slightly tight but I am keeping it as I am dieting and this will be my first reward for losing 1.5 stones. So my theory is I'll be wearing it at the end of February if not before.
  • Hi everyone
    I've been good so far!!
Although I am now within 2lb of my goal weight at WW and I think I may have to spend in the next month or 2 on jeans and bra's :eek:
