Hi & welcome to Callisto & niccatw, will add you to the list right away0

:j:j:j found you at last via link from kind lady on toiletries site.
started the year sort of good:rotfl:
bought a much needed parka type jacket down from £150 to £99 (as it is raining cats and here will be very useful!)we like to go walking and my last jacket died ages ago and have been soooo cold recently(get violins out)I am not including this as a major buy and should last years.
Also bought a jumper as again did not have one and had to borrow DHs to do church Christmas flowers in the cold:(It was marked £39 down to £27 but at the checkout the girl said oh its down again to £19:):):):):):).
the item I do want to take out of my allowance is an East shrug that I bought cos I liked it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:it was £27.50 down from £55:) so that leavse me with £195.
I say I was sort of good because i tried on lots of stuff in East that I did not buy and also went in KEW and decided against anything, trouble is it made for a long shopping trip as I was only buying what I needed and had to look around a lot.
Still need a new dresssing gown as mine so scruffly and thin but tried several and were too big/small/expensive! will keep looking
happy new year to all0 -
forgot to say paid for the jacket and jumper with vouchers at JL so another reason not to count them as part of the spend:rotfl:
I also went into Wallis as had coupons for there for ages but saw nothing worth buying ditto with Next so still got around £40 of "free" clothes to get:):):)
went into Coast and Hobbs but even with 70% sales these are seriously expensive and they put tickets on all clothes saying up to 70% off which I found confusing:( as some were far less discounted!
gtg to church again today to remove Christmas flowers so glad of new jacket to keep me warm and dry:)0 -
I'm slightly late in joining the party but I'm going to give this a go this year.
Think I'll go for £240 for the year for me as a starting point, really don't know how achieveable that'll be but that's part of the challenge I guess.
I cracked my toiletry buying habits with the help of threads on here, the 100 day one first a couple of years ago and then the toiletry challenge last year writing everything I used up and owning up to what I did buy was realy helpful and now I know what I like and buy that only - on offer or as gifts of course!
So bring on the clothing challenge - to start with I think I need to reaquaint myself with everything in my wardrobe and drawers and work out what I don't use, sell/charity shop and then wear the rest and work out what I'm in need of. I do some volunteering and find when I'm busy with that I have less time to go to the shops so buy less stuff - that's the plan anyway!
So £240 for me this year for all clothes and shoes - eek!Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
Overpayments to date - £79.62
Current Mortgage free date - January 20580 -
First week in and still no purchases to 'fess up to! Go me! This challenge is already making me think hard about what I really *need* to buy. I fancied a pink swimsuit for my Hen party next weekend and then to take on my wedding/holiday next month but managed to talk myself out of it since I've already got a handful of bikinis and I wouldnt feel the need for a swimsuit if I could just stop eating biscuits and shrunk my belly down a bit! :rotfl:
I'm going shopping with my Mum tomorrow who is my greatest downfall as she just can't say no to pretty things and then talks me into buying pretty things so I hope the damage isn't too great!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hi Lula and other folks
Please can I join the the challenge? Have only just found it! I'd like to set a budget of £100 as I have lots of clothes I never wear so this'll either push me into wearing them or selling them to make some money.
Thanks
Ginge2012 Saving challenge £1000/£400! Woo! :wave:0 -

Hi Lula
I know its a bit late but can I still join the challenge? I would like to set a budget of £240! I will include everything from Jewellery Accessories and Underwear. I have splurged a huge amount on my CC this month with Sale 'Bargains'
I have purchased the following! (doing this mainly for my own benefit becuase it looks worse when you right it down)
Diesel Jeans - £61 down from £160 saving £99
Diesel Bag - £33 down from £55 saving £22
Diesel Belt - £30 down from £60 saving £30
Firetrap Belt - £15 down from £30 saving £15
Firetrap Combats - £18 down from £60 saving £42
Carvella Shoes - £35 down from £120 saving £85
Kurt Geiger Boots - £55 down from £100 saving £45
Firetrap Jelly Pumps - £3 down from £18 saving £15
So although I have 'saved' £352 I have still spent £250 on my Credit card on clothes which I will need to clear in the next few months. To make matters worse I have also spent £37 on new clingy coat hangers and Clear shoe boxes to store all my lovely clothes in!
O the shame!:embarasse0
