Crazy 2011 clothes challenge

Hello ladies! Just popping on for an update
Haven't bought anything for ages since the coral dress (ok about a month ish ago) will be buying a few bits for the holiday in a couple of weeks. Trying to narrow the spends down and get essentials.
Had a freedom Saturday today for a change - wore a dress I haven't worn for at least 2 years and only wore it once. It's not really my colours but I liked it and it was a lovely day dress and will hopefully look better when some weight drops off (I wish) when I finally manage to stick to my diet plan for once
What's left in the budget then £133.13. Think I'll estimate around £30 - £40 for the summer stuff then leaves £100 for the rest of the year.
Need to have a root around a few shops for some bargains to stay on budget. I'll have a look over the next couple of weeksfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hi all
£13.50 to declare on two plain jersey tops from Gap - 25% off. One kind of essential as old top in that colour is looking very worn and is a little too short, the other not so essential but tones with this year's summer trousers and will get plenty of wear.
Returned M&S dress so don't have that to feel guilty about. Tried a couple of others and concluded that white linen probably looks good on tall tanned people but was not working on me - I just look like I'm a dental nurse on lunch break.
Am slowly weeding wardrobe and adding to Ebay pile for when I have some time to sort out listing and posting etc.

Rosa :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: to dental nurse look.
I have a white linen skirt in my wardrobe. I daren't wear it as I can't carry off that stylishly crumpled linen look .
I think the key to wearing it is to make sure you don't have to move. At all.0 -
Hello everyone
Today I spent £1 on four pairs of easter ladies socks (see cheap tesco thread)
But most importantly didn't spend £45 on a fab handbag that I really really wanted and a stack of clothes from East which would have been at least £100 by the time I added earrings etc.
I kept thinking thats a fifth of my next 6 months clothing allowence for me and the kids and I couldn't do it.
thanks for making me think well at least today lol!!Be Amazing0 -

:rotfl: I can do crumpled... it's the bit about getting other people to think it's stylish that eludes me.
I suspect you're right about the not moving - it's probably intended to say "I pay someone else to iron this and have no need to exert myself whatsoever"

I have become the kind of woman who takes two £180-each winter coats to the dry cleaners and has a long conversation with the staff about the most effective way of combining offers, priority club membership and Tescos vouchers.
**** knows what they thought of me. I'm not even sure what to think myself.

I think you are a money saving whizz Rosa :A
Things could be a lot worse;
I have become the sort of woman who buys a coat for £15 via ebay, gives it an appraisal & then throws it in the washing machine at 30 & just dares it to shrink
I think the correct term would be 'shameless cheapskate':o

:rotfl: thank you Lula - though I still suspect the lasses in the dry cleaners were thinking more along the lines of 'middle class twerp who shouldn't be buying ridiculously expensive coats if she's going to haggle over an extra £4 on dry cleaning'.
Am not sure I can be trusted on Ebay, but might check out the local charity shops next weekend.

I returned one bra to M&S that didn't fit right and I have acquired four new bras (I didn't need that many, but I really really liked them ALL! ) and a pair of walking boots. I am also waiting for four tops and a bracelet to arrive.
This little lot hasn't cost me anything as I have used the remainder of my birthday money, plus a couple of survey payments and my Paypal balance (from selling on Ebay.) I need to stop buying from Ebay now, and put the rest of the Paypal balance into my stylish specs fund.
I am keeping watch for a knee length dress or skirt for summer, I don't need anything else at present.0 -
