I've had a splurge!!! My first in 2 years.

I probably will get banned from this thread for mentioning it but Mr T have 25% off all clothing, plus £10 off £40 spend, plus free delivery if you spend over £50 before discount. On order for me - one supercute navy playsuit
    http://www.clothingattesco.com/f+f/f+f-limited-edition-button-front-playsuit/invt/jg111231/?htxt=YDOmn4dn80%2FihItwnNT%2BNt2M6HkdDl0ckmQxNsjqw2rzAvMZ%2F5Y1i%2BIbodCf%2FHEpuDo98L1o%2FBe6%0AAZM4sA5%2BWg%3D%3D

and a couple of good (I hope!) basics - 2 black vest and a camisoles; 1 spotty poncho for summer festival (emergency use!), and a swimsuit for dd.

£35 quid after various discounts. If I take DD's swimsuit off the bill (full price, naturally ;)) it works out as £28 to add. I suddenly feel virtuous!

Interesting to hear about your cash for clothing experience debbiedeejay, that doesnt sound like much cash, how about donating to oxfam instead, they offer a £5 M&S gift card for any donated M&S items & at least a charity is benefitting too

Thanks Lula -its a lovely idea but am afraid at the moment charity begins at home. The gift card is a good offer but on checking its a £5 off a £35 spend so its no go area for me am afraid.

Cheers though, its a nice option for those already wanting to donate to CS though.

Thanks for sharing the tatco discount offer museumworker & I really like that playsuit, although it wouldnt suit me.

    Happy New Clothes :j

debbiedejay - didnt realise the £5 gift card had conditions attached & spending £35 first is definitely not great. Carry on with your selling I reckon :D

    Hello All:wave:

Just thought I'd pop in to let you know that I had a reply from one of these companies who pays cash for clothing - hmmmmm well the sack I filled was massive and I filled it with I think I said 25kg of clothes in a previous post.

I doubled & triple checked every item of clothing that went in there - there were no rips, tears, stains, all clean, nothing "old" style etc.

And the reply I got was
    Your clothing weighed 20kg Kg
Your valuation breaks down as follows:
very little zero rate (1.5kg)... 11kg at £2, 7.5kg at 40p. Thank you!

Now I must have really bad style or keep things too long or something - so I will be receiving £25( the money is going towards my DD2 prom dress material, eldest DD is making it for her)

    - ok so am a little disapointed but I suppose it is a easy way of getting rid of clothing very quickly without the hassle of ebay, car boot - but will I do it again? Hmmmmm:cool: not sure , the jury is out.

Gawd I'd love to know what was counted as a zero rate - my fashion sense must be horrendous.:rotfl:

Afternoon all :) Just messaging to say be careful of clothesforcash kind of sites, cover your back by reading the terms and conditions for sure. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3243840

I'd be chuffed with £25 though, result!

I walked past a charity shop today, I just didn't need anything extra but I did spent £2.50 on a pair of primarni flip flops.

Have a lovely (cheap) weekend every one:D

A whole £2 to declare on a barrette - my hair is finally properly long again and I need to find new ways of wearing it.

£50 on an M&S summer dress, it's gorgeous but am not sure how much wear I will get out of white so am going to try it on properly when feeling good and see if I really want to keep it or not. If I do, it's my reward for a good grade on the last masters module.

Saw a fab bag in the charity shop today - was very good and left it there but considering popping back in tomorrow morning. It's £30 but exactly the kind of bag that I do use - a lovely summer colour I do wear, leather so lasts and doesn't matter if have to put it down on wet bus stop, handles long enough to go over shoulders, big enough for a book as well as all essentials. Will dither and see as don't have the option of returning it to the charity shop!

I should probably give in and just ebay all the small shoulder bags in my cupboard - I never use them as it's so rare I would actually go out of the house without suncream/ scarf, phone, purse, lipgloss, handcream, book...

Hi All, well I've been good for errr..the past...errr...two weeks or so with no purchases since before my hols but I did find out something 'interesting' yesterday.

During a quiet moment I thought I'd have a look at how much I spent on clothes in the past 12mths, I did this a few months ago and it was roughly £850, however looking at my entries now (I must admit I seem to have 'omitted' a few spends when I was in the States in Jan from my spending diary :o) I reckon it's prob nearer £1000 :o It wasn't really the amount I was surprised at, but I was surprised when I did a quick pivot to see where my spends went (wild I know :rotfl:)

Now the fact Mango was up there, along with Abercrombie (my USA spends), and TK Maxx (ok, a little surprised at that, but I did but some winter boots in there for £40 so guess that was a good chunk towards it) but what I was surprised about was the fact I have apparently spent nearly £100 in Primark

Now, if someone asked me whether I shop in Primark much I'd say not really, that I pop in for basics or a browse but don't buy that much. Clearly the figures tell otherwise, I guess I did buy some shorts for OH, and a few bits for the house (oven gloves) but then thinking about it I buy my sports bras from there, some of their white plimsoles, flip flops, my maxi dress (£17 ) but it clearly soon adds up. :o

    Hello again to all,

nice to have a new visitor ani 26 - all are welcome here.

I have to say that I agree with you re warm weather night attire - it also saves on washing ;)

I have new shooooooos to declare :http://www.marksandspencer.com/Autograph-Suede-Platform-Sandals-Insolia%C2%AE/dp/B0048AVQXI?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=1437YDRWB1KEXZQJQZER&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=3901&pf_rd_i=1000&pf_rd_p=213515047&pf_rd_s=right-1 :D

I've not received them yet as ordered on line earlier, using the 15% discount card that M&S sent me, as well as the £25 gift card that I received at christmas so effectively they have cost me nothing & i might even get a few pennies back via quidco :j

I just hope they fit as I loooooove the look of them & my previous animal print ones are getting a bit tatty.

Mmmmm, long soak in the bath, clean sheets :p

Shame i don't have a bath to soak in anymore. What would'nt i give for a soak in the bath.? Oh i forgot, nothing :rotfl:

This might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the last pair of shoes i bought, were from Barnad*s, a pair of Rohd e shoes for £9. Brand new, never been worn, and still in the box. They had around 20 pairs. Apparently charity shops sometimes get job lots direct from manufacturers. Not fashion shoes, but great for comfort and workwear.

Yesterday was manic - it was DD1 graduation exhibition and DD3 presentation evening - spent yesterday afternoon prepping the venue for the presentation leaving me only 25 minutes to dash home, get changed and pick up various members of the family...........My dilema of what to wear (as the poppy dress was out as I want to wear it for my DD1 graduaation ceramony so couldn't wear it for the exhibition)was quickly solved by (seriously) grabbing the first dress I pulled out of my wardrobe.

I bought it two years ago from Peacocks - black high wasted pencil skirt thin, greyish belt and a chiffon ruffled necklined top in a grey/black snakeish print - now normally I never wear what I call the "Bet Lynch" look and the day I bought this dress I was definately out of my comfort zone and being brave,so it had sat in my wardrobe eversince.

Last night I didn't have chance to think about ,I just put it on,teemed with opaque black tights, little black heels and cardi and was off!

Got some really nice comments though,so must have been ok and those that thought "that's Bet Lynch , that reminds me I need a pint " were thoughtful enough to keep quiet:rotfl:

Will I wear it again? Maybe.... but I need to alter the cross over on the top as I had to use a saftey pin to stop all up top spilling out - and that would have been enough to put anyone off their pint!
