Crazy 2011 clothes challenge

^^^^^^ What she said
. Unless you actually have a well defined wardrobe, which you are fully happy with (I love mine
), it will take money to be able to pull your key pieces together.
As I said, it cost me around £450 for this wardrobe so for now, I don't need any clothes. I do still need to replace things as when they wear out though so I buy undies when mine are tired or misshapen and do the same with any other clothes. Cost depends on what I see or where I buy from. I am quite happy to buy from ebay and get named brands second hand but they still cost quite a bit. Personally I would be happier to spend the same (or slightly more) on a second hand named item than I would to buy a brand new item from Primark. At least with the second hand item, it has passed the wash test. I also try to buy fabrics which aren't going to bobble or lose their shape. I prefer a nice cotton. Also, if it gets stained it can be crubbed and boil washed to try and revive it.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I was very lucky to be given a massive bag of clothes by a friend (a fashiony one at that) but still have to get some summer/holiday bits in.
At the weekend I found something I've been looking for for years...low(ish) heeled yet pretty shoes!!! Loved them, they were £15 from new look and comfy as!0 -
*Sigh* I need lots of new summer clothes.
In the last year I've lost 3.5 stone, which, while fabulous, means I'm constantly having to buy new clothes as my old ones fall off me. I've managed to rescue my old faithful work skirt by taking it in 4 inches, but nearly everything else just looks ridiculous now (including a leather jacket that set me back £150  last year). I also want to lose another 5-9lbs before I'm at 'target', so I'm loathed to spend too much more for now. But I can't walk around in tents all summer.
I'm also pondering whether to return a skirt I've ordered, which would take my total back down to £19. I feel like I'm constantly buying clothes (because I am!) but it's not costing me much because I keep returning themMayGC:£118/£360 April:£283

I've just returned loads of sale stuff to M&S, felt a bit guilty but they were nothing special. Have gone back to charity shopping and ebay to keep costs down. However ebay dress I received was nothing like it was described, I suppose that's the thing with ebay.0

File a dispute then. If it was significantly different, you would have to return it at your own cost but would get some money back for it.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

May be wise at some point having your feet checked out by a Podiatrist, especially if painful:think:
-could be the start of something called hammer toe, your feet are flexible(ie the double jointed) so it means you CAN squeeze your feet into nice pointed shoes etc, but the tiny tendons in your feet are actually making tiny squeezing motions to keep that pointy shoe/slip on/dolly shoe on your foot .
Hammer Toe is a common problem seen in people who wear tight shoes or wear hoisery/tights/socks pulled tight over their toes. Children can also develop it if they out grow their shoes too fast and carry on wearing the smaller shoes - but it also can be congenital so if your Mum, Dad,Gran have similar feet then probabaly you do too. But also weak muscles, tight tendons or even arthritis can cause this "clawing".
Get your feet checked out by a registered Podiatrist if you suffer from pain, callus(hard skin), & corns esp in between your toes or on the top of your toes -your GP should be able to tell you who is in your area.
But in the mean time you can prevent it becoming worse by wearing good fitting shoes that have plenty of toe room and that fasten(most of the time:rotfl:).
But there again I could be completely barking up the wrong tree but I know that toes are not supposed to "claw" so get them checked out by a proffesional.
Oh and "Skinny" feet - try Italian or American brands of footwear , they tend to be made for a narrower foot.:)
Ahhh, thanks for the concernLuckily I don't have any issues with painful feet (except for the odd night out on heels for too long :rotfl:) and my toes are all 'where they are supposed to be' since my mum was very good at making sure my shoes were a good fit when I was a kid (again, due to skinny feet it was always sensible patent t-bar from Startrite for me) No corns or callus' either
I prob don't claw my toes badly, well no one has pointed at me in the street and yelled 'CLAW FOOT!' which I take to be positive
As for the pointy shoes, it's great I can wear them without being in agony if I want (without having to squish my toes in) but tbh I don't wear shoes like that a great deal - Ugg boots far more comfyFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

... *hides eyes*... £590
This includes EVERYTHING - the main damage coming from my fab chocolate leather over the knee boots in the Jan sale, two dresses at £70 each (but both fab so should do well on CPW) and a summer coat. Oh and a pair of jeans at £50.
I have two more items to declare... racerback bra converters at a whole £1.99 for four colours from Ebay (haven't tried them out yet, but figured if it means I wear the tops and dress I have where the straps are slightly too narrow, a very good investment) and £4 on a pair of socks from White Stuff. They were cute. (I get cold feet at night so pick up cute socks in the hope of them looking slightly less ridiculous with my pj's or silkies :rotfl:)
It's not great but it's better than it could have been, and at least I am now daring to add it up. Did some wardrobe editing on the weekend and have a pile for Ebay (which I really have to actually sell on there this time) and need to think through what can go with what before buying anything else.
Hopefully these will go with something thoughhttp://www.clarks.co.uk/find/producttype-is-sandals/gender-is-women/colour-is-blue/product-is-20346380
So thank you all for the company and the encouragement... :T :heartsmil

It's a shame when something like that happens isn't it? Can you resell it? Or are you just going to grin and bear it?
I've picked up a little white cardigan in Tesco today for £10. I had one of these a few years ago and it had mysteriously vanished when I wanted to wear it last summer. It's 100% cotton, 3/4 length sleeves and not too long so looks good with dresses and jeans. It doesn't make me look like I have a massive bum.
DH was saying last night that he'd not got my birthday present so I'll let him wrap this for me to have on FridayDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
£56 to declare on a bag
In my defence, for the first time ever I waited before buying to see if the novelty wore off- I've wanted it for over a month now, and when I was on Oxford St yesterday (as you do..) I saw it and thought 'may as well get it now and save myself the postage'MayGC:£118/£360 April:£283
