Crazy 2011 clothes challenge

I think I may just be an old fart! But as I have a very demanding on my feet job, got run over when I was younger and have hip, knee and back problems, I do find that good shoes are a must. If I have bad shoes on, I start to feel it really quickly. You spend half of your life in shoes and half in bed, it makes sense to get the best you can possibly get for both.
I suppose it's like dieting really, everything in moderation. I will quite happily sit and eat a 4 pack of cream cakes just the same as I will wear ridiculous spiky high heels. I just don't do either every day so I don't suffer any ill health effects from them.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Nor mine:rotfl: I live in flipflops, flat dolly shoes, ridiculous heels or wedges:rotfl: oh and my uggs:rotfl: my poor feet:o
*waves hand in the air* yep, I am sure some of my shoes are awful for my feet too - Uggs, flip flops (never really found any that were super comfy until I bought a pair from Primark last summer and I find them really comfy to wear all day) I'm not so bad in the winter as I tend to wear boots most of the time.
I do also suffer with 'skinny' foot syndrome so lots of sandals my foot just slides right out - it also means I can get my feet into silly pointy shoes and boots without my toes getting pinched.
I was reading about how bad flip flops are for your feet esp on hard floors and one reason cited was the cushioning, where 'your foot is rarely more than 1cm from the concrete' but doesn't that apply to lots of shoes?
Regarding the claw toe thing, I have a real habit of curling the toes on my right foot, the middle ones are double jointed so I don't know if its anything to do with that, but it doesn't seem to matter what shoes I wear, I curl them anyway... except with my primark flip flops, goodness knows how that ones works. :rotfl:Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hence buying 17 pairs..

17 pairs! no wonder I can't find any in store this year :rotfl:
I 'need' to get a new pair of their white pumps too - got some last year but they are a bit small and haven't really stretched out - I suspect some trying on in store will be necessary as I doubt all those marked the same size actually will be.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

you know what? I also agree. Primark did some amazing sandals year before last for like £4 and I wore them and wore them so much. Did buy a few pairs over the summer cos for £4 why wear scruffed up ones, but they felt so comfortable. Brought some last year and they kind of changed their strapping - disappointing - so wasnt as comfortable.
Primark are in general great for summer stapley peices.0 -
Well I have failed this challenge
Went over my £100 budget this weekend. I have been updating my signature and not always posting what i've bought - anyway its still over! I will continue to add things up and see how far over I end up - maybe next year I will choose a new limit and stick to it.

kerri gt -I do also suffer with 'skinny' foot syndrome so lots of sandals my foot just slides right out - it also means I can get my feet into silly pointy shoes and boots without my toes getting pinched.Regarding the claw toe thing, I have a real habit of curling the toes on my right foot, the middle ones are double jointed so I don't know if its anything to do with that, but it doesn't seem to matter what shoes I wear, I curl them anyway.
-could be the start of something called hammer toe, your feet are flexible(ie the double jointed) so it means you CAN squeeze your feet into nice pointed shoes etc, but the tiny tendons in your feet are actually making tiny squeezing motions to keep that pointy shoe/slip on/dolly shoe on your foot .
Hammer Toe is a common problem seen in people who wear tight shoes or wear hoisery/tights/socks pulled tight over their toes. Children can also develop it if they out grow their shoes too fast and carry on wearing the smaller shoes - but it also can be congenital so if your Mum, Dad,Gran have similar feet then probabaly you do too. But also weak muscles, tight tendons or even arthritis can cause this "clawing".
Get your feet checked out by a registered Podiatrist if you suffer from pain, callus(hard skin), & corns esp in between your toes or on the top of your toes -your GP should be able to tell you who is in your area.
But in the mean time you can prevent it becoming worse by wearing good fitting shoes that have plenty of toe room and that fasten(most of the time:rotfl:).
But there again I could be completely barking up the wrong tree but I know that toes are not supposed to "claw" so get them checked out by a proffesional.
Oh and "Skinny" feet - try Italian or American brands of footwear , they tend to be made for a narrower foot.:)Crazy Clothes Challenge 2012 £57.20/£100,CCC 2013 £68.67/£100 ,CCC 2014 £94.32/£100

There's no 'failing' on this challenge sweetie, there's a bit of 'learning how to budget a reasonable amount' & it's a very difficult thing to estimate the first time you try it.
Stick with us & you might find it helps to post eacht time you buy something. Lots of us buy stuff & then after posting on here, we decide to take it back0
