Thanks for that Jamiedodger. I have cut and pasted it for later on. I intend to grow some mint & always have cucumber in the fridge so will be great to make. Where will I buy the grapefruit seed extract?

The pie was lovely & XDIL txt me to say she make the weetabix cake as I gave her a few easy cake recipes that DGS enjoyed while he was here. She loved it. My Aunty (Mum's sister) called to say my Uncle (MBrother) is dying. You probably remember him from us going up to visit him on occassions. He lives in a nursing home in Toowoomba. His wife died late last year. He's 94 so he's had a good innings and was blessed with a long happy marriage & good heath. No children though.

Well off to do the dishes & make out my list for tomorrow. Bye for now.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning everyone!

Well - can't believe my exhausted preggers self is up and at them this morning after only getting to bed at 3am! Admitedly I'm not dressed yet, but I've taken inspiration from this thread and am thinking of going to the Sunday market then having a long walk and chat with OH. He's woken up in a bad mood, so I'm going to potter around, go out to the market and leave him to wake up cheerier!

He's already been lecturing me this morning on what to eat/not eat and going to the doctors etc - and I know he cares and this is his way of showing it - but I'd much rather he supported me by making suggestions and having conversations, rather than being supercilious. I am feeling really queasy with sore boobs, not very hungry (then starving all of a sudden) and exhausted so I'm not really loving his attitude at the moment.

Work yesterday was really pants - then I was looking after a friend's children last night (but being paid for it) so working really from 8am til 3am - it wasn't strenuous, just making a presentation, sitting and listening and group work, then sitting chatting with the children and getting them to bed - but was exhausting all the same. So today is for rest and relaxation and a bit of food shopping.

Not much on the Old Style menu today. I might make a squash risotto with spinach for tea (folic acid) if I can face it and I'll need to put some washing on as I'm going to have to wear my tankini pants today as I've no clean knickers  .

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone

    Valentine xxx
  • Hi All,
A quiet day here today I think, may possibly drive around looking at some houses as we've sold ours  :j . We originally sold in August, but our buyers told us a pack of lies, making out that they didn't have a chain when they did. So now we've sold again, and for 1.5k more too :j I'm soooooooo excited, I hope this doesn't fall through too. Only thing is - we'd better really get our skates on as they want to be in for Xmas
Nothing else going on really. OH spend all day at my dads yesterday mending his computer, so finally got that working for him.
May pop out for some Sunday lunch later, and have a huge pile of ironing to do too.
    Hugs all :grouphug:

    Morning All,

Love and hugs to all in need, especially your Uncle AUSSIELASS.

Have spent the last hour or so on the puter sorting out mums visit. She will be here on the 20th dec till the 20th jan. I have been saving my tesco vouchers for the last 18 months cause I knew i could use them on things for her visit and am pleased to report that Mr Tesco has so far saved me the MAMMOTH amount of £472!

The deals tokens have paid for the following:-
*a 2 night stay in a posh hotel in regents park in a deluxe room with
    breakfast in room included.
*a tour of the tower of london.
*a london red bus sightseeing tour and cruise of the thames.
*dinner at a nice restaurant in covent garden on the 2 nights we are
    there.
*tickets to see Chicago or Stomp (havent decided which yet)

    VERY PLEASED!

Am off to the shops soon to get a dress for a cocktail themed birthday party I have been invited to next weekend. Not overly excited about squeezing my lardy frame into a slinky dress, see my sig and you'll understand  but will make the effort all the same.

Righto, am off to warm up my cold coffee - again!

    Have a fabbo day all,
    Al.

  • morning :hello:

another rough nite for me too :(
dd woke crying at 2.30ish and she was burning up. so i cuddled her and dosed her up, undressed her and after 20 min she finally went back to sleep - poor girl!
at 6am ds came in (as usual ) and OH 'jumped' up to take him downstairs [cannot believe it icon ] - so i got (for once!!) another 1,5 hours  (was very needed though)

i am still zombie like

seems to be a nice sunny day here (for a change :j)
so will take the kids out later.

i did manage to get dressed (!) and i am thinking about dinner now.
    no idea really
have to find a recipe for 'beef wellington' - sounds intriguing.

OH and i had already a 'serious' chat today
that we have to stop overspending!!!!!
i've started to watch our shopping and cooking (cook from scratch mostly anyways; will have to cut down on takeaways now - so we only have them once or twice a month really)
i also started baking  (i never liked baking!!!!! but the outcome is rather nice - too nice sometimes :o)
and the BM got reinstalled too

any other good tips where to save????

i know i have to go through our bank statement and see actually HOW much we spend on what - it's just about finding the time
but i guess it needs doing :D

i hope you all have a fab sunday!!!! with lots of yummy food ;)
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)
  • Valentine the first 3 months are rather exhausting (ime anyways) - without even doing anything  - give your OH lots to read (that helped with mine; he wouldn't listen to a single word i tried to tell him :D) - take it easy :)

starlorna what fab result!!!!!! and more than you expected too!!!! nothing nicer than 'shopping' for a new house ;) - have fun!!

kiwichick wow  - i never saw it like that. but then again i normally spend my vouchers straight away :D -
re show: i've seen 'stomp' and it was absolutly great!!!!!!!! (there is lots of stomping involved ;)
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)

Thanks Kiwi - Just got another phone call. Uncle Bill died at 6pm. That was the time that Aunty H was on the phone to me. I told her how awful it must be for her as she is the youngest of 7 and the last two years her 3 sisters & 2 brothers have died. My other unlce died about 20 years ago. She is the last one living now.

Anyway best get going. You will look lovely in your slinky dress. Black covers a multitude of sins. :D I should know. ;)
