  • Hello all, and hugs to all who need them.

Very OS today, as not allowed out of the house - all three little ones (5, 3 and 1) are having chicken pox simulteaneously, so everyone is spotty and scratchy and cross.

Feeling very OS, though, as managed to boil the weekend's lamb bone for stock and make 'nourishing soup' out of it. Shame the children wanted sandwiches for lunch instead.

Any ideas (apart from putting the television on!) on what to do with 3 kids who can't concentrate for more than 5 minutes because they're scratching? We've been housebound since Tuesday and it's starting to show (although, on the plus side, I've finished the ironing and not spent any money!)?

Might try starting HM Xmas presents with the two older children this afternoon - it's going to be tree decorations (for teachers etc) and I was going to do a dry run using fondant icing before we try Fimo.

    Hi Mrs Cupier,

What about paperchains? we've been making them the last couple of nights out of coloured paper and pritstick. My 6 year old loves making them and my 2 year old likes holding them, it's kept them busy for a couple of nights in a row now.

    Afternoon all

Firstly, happy birthdays and congratulations to those who have/need them and big (((hugs))) to those who are ill, subjects of crime or general mismanagement and ill luck.

Not too much OS so far. Had my new hob fitted and he's taken the old gas oven out but the electrician can't make it today so I have a big hole where the oven should go :) Have cleaned the living room whilst the kitchen was out of bounds though. Will put WM and BM on shortly and clean the kitchen. Am waiting for someone to turn up to discuss general business stuff ie networking as opposed to her becoming a client. Oooooh and some good news.... had a call from a local paper and they have heard about my new business, think it sounds fab and want to do an article on me :j :j So, am having an interview next week with a view to being in print the week after. May get some good business out of it :j :T :j

Blimey - it's 2 hours since I wrote the above :D I've had my meeting - good potential, and also the spark has been round to see if I can manage without my oven till Wednesday. Seeing as it's outside ATM - I haven't got a choice :rotfl:

Just waiting for a computer repair man to turn up - my pc went belly up last night so it's a good job I have a lappy-although I haven't managed to get it wireless yet :( Sitting here typing one handed as I eat toast :)

Going out to eat tonight - the older kids at Mr TM's school are turning the place into a pizzeria, so that's what we'll eat :)

OK, have a good day and I hope I haven't missed anything vital in the 3 hours it's taken me to post this :D

  • Well, what a terrible day at work! I feel as though I have achieved precisely nothing. I hate days like that. I spent all morning keying in three applications but the advisers who completed the forms missed out lots of vital information. So I couldn't get them completed. Took up most of time too.

Still, IT'S THE WEEKEND!!! YEAY! Except I have to go for my flu and pneumonia jabs this afternoon. _pale_ I have a thing about needles.

Taking DD and DS tomorrow to open bank accounts that they will be solely responsible for. Hoping to teach them the value of money early enough that they won't get into loads of debt by the time they want to go to university and the inevitable pubs, etc. DS got over £100 for his birthday and hasn't spent any of it yet so that will be used to open the account. Wonder how long it will last?

Cat I think you were the one with the 7 yr "anniversary" (sorry if I am totally wrong). You have done amazingly well and should be very proud of yourself and your achievements.

VickyA hope the job gets sorted out soon for you. I know how stressful it can be to teach where you feel you are not wanted - my best friend suffered the same experience.

Hope the day is being good to all of you,

    Annie x

    Hello all

How is everyone? I went back to work 2day after having 3days off, still felt rough and weak, they was ever so nice about me being off. Because of the sickness bug - its triggered my spasms again in my lower back, so Im walking like Ive been horse riding for hours. I hope it improves over the weekend. Anyway - Cos of this, Ive not had a fag since monday night (wont last for long though with the stresses life brings me)

Saw Disney on Ice last night in Sheffield, it was fantastic, my kids didn't know nothing about it untill we pulled up in the car park, just as I predicted, DS wasn't overly thrilled, DD face lit up. Now that was priceless. She non-stop spoke about it all evening/morning.

Not a lot planned for this evening, finally got my washer sorted yesterday, he turned up with 15mins to spare. So got plenty of washing to keep me busy.
Otherwise, Im going to chill and exercise/rest my back when needed.

    Take care for now peeps
    As usual love to all

Crikey I don't pop on here for a few days, and by the time I come back everyone's knocked up!! :rotfl:

Birthday & Anniversary wishes & congratulations to the relevant people, and :grouphug: to all in need, especially petal and age :grouphug:

OS today: I will at some point get round to sorting all my clean washing away, and I have about 2 loads that need to go on, and a few things to iron!! Also will make a beef stew and another of gingham's chillis (now a firm favourite in this house!)

Still doing well with the heating - we have a heater set to come on for half an hour in the mornings (on weekdays only) so that getting up isn't too unbearable and other than that we have survived without so far... Must admit I'm liking all the snuggling under duvets with OH - in summer we sit in seperate rooms doing different things but we've spent loads of time together snuggling in front of the TV lately :) However I am typing this in gloves as my hands seem to be really chilly today!!

I'm off to London on monday for a few days to visit my sister so need to make sure there's plenty of food in the house for OH, and tidy up so that the only mess I have to deal with when I get back is the mess OH makes when I'm away!

Am visiting this sister because I'm worried about her all alone in London - she's only 18 and is really struggling to cope financially, so I'm arming myself with Martins book and loads of OS tips in the hope that I can help her out a bit!! I'm also worried about my other sister who still lives at home - she's 14 but is really lonely now that me and my other sister have moved out, and she's been crying to me lately because mum & dad work long hours (always have) and she's home alone a lot - plus they live in the middle of nowhere so its difficult for her to visit/be visited by friends... any advice? I didn't really know what to say to her when she was talking to me, as I didnt feel that there was much I could do other than move back home (and that certainly isn't about to happen!!!)

    Take care everyone!

EDIT: HELLO & WELCOME to all the newbies that have arrived in my absence!!!

Thanks, Thriftlady, thats nice of you. However, I have met women who have told me to "just get on with my life" when I have complained about my periods or have just looked at me as though thats what they are thinking. They are the sort of women who obviously don't suffer with their monthlys and don't think anyone else does either!

    You were joking right?

I've only just got rid of the "teens" myself! (as in I'm only just 20 and not a teenager anymore IYSWIM)

EDIT: Crazychik, just seen your post! I wanted to go and see Disney on Ice at the Arena but OH told me that I was too big and to grow up!! :rotfl: see - I couldn't look after a 14YO - I can barely look after myself!!!
