Evening all,
Not sure I've been around for a few days. Been "down south" working etc. It happens now and again
Went to visit my friend and her v.ickle baby - he was 2lbs 11oz when born (at 28wks) ... he is doing champion, although mother is feeling like "daisy" at the mo, as having to express every 3hrs. She is doing really well though too
OS wise, well today I've done about 7 loads of washing, with them all sitting drying on the airers now. A couple went out for several hours, which gave them a head start until the Heavens opened
DH did do a whole load of washing whilst I was away, but, well, with the best intentions in the world .... hmmmm ... may have been easier to do them when I came home ... not that I will ever say that to him, cripes no!
I've done the first pass at the ironing, but as I say with 7 loads done today, I have a fair bit to do at some point Sunday onwards!
DD and I made "pink" pasta this morning, it was meant to be purple (beetroot), but, nope ... pink it was! Tasted AOK though.
Went to Waitrose tonight and bought some spinach ... so next weeks pasta adventure will be green, LOL.
Spent way too much in there, again. It's not a good sign when the cashiers recognise you is it ... oops. Food, however, is our passion and we would prefer to economise in other areas.
Thriftlady - I will probably have to PM you this as it is so late, but where is your farm shop that you go to? I am visiting my ma in Kiddie next week, and was wondering if it was within 20miles of there.
We also decanted our wine tonight - we are now the proud owners of damson / plum and elderberry wines. The sloe gin and voddie are still trucking on.
Tmw is going to be a DIY day, DH wants to destroy the top bedroom, he is convinced there is a fireplace in there.
Onwards and upwards!GC - March 2024 -0 -
Evening all,
I'll have a glass of elderberry please Zed:beer:
Pen-pen Enjoy your evening with hubby;)
Welcome Valentine & congrats on your exciting news.
Received a bit of bad news yesturday evening, my friends mum died earlier in the day, She had lung cancer. Its a blessing really as not only was she suffering badly but so was my friend. So today we spent the morning together doing what we do best, supporting each other and drinking endless cups of tea!
Anyway gonna crawl into bed next to DD as she has decided to keep me company in my bed tonight,
Night Night all,
Ice

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone. I've been up since 4 so I thought I'd start us off today. I hope you all have a good day. This is what happened to me last night. I have insomnia and it's been buzzing through my mind since 4 am. But I have had breakfast and am feeling good. My mum is coming to help out today so I'm hoping DH and I will be able to go to the pictures or something if I'm up to it. We'll see.
Hugs to all of you, whether you need them or not.
Edit: Icemaiden I've just read your post from yesterday and I'm so sorry to hear your news. But you sound like a wonderful friend. xMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Hi Gingham,
Morning! So glad you are feeling better this morning. You neighbour sounds like an ignorant tw*t. I haven't had time to read the conclusion, just your first post - I hope it was all concluded successfull with the police? Have a lovely day today and please try not to worry too much.
Morning everyone else! I'm up early today (did another PG test which was faint but + gonna have to stop doing them now!) but still finding it very difficult to believe. My OH and I feel a little bit like - what now? We're not telling anyone until after Xmas which means we're in limbo for a while. Some of the advice of PG forums even says not to go to the doc/nurse yet - gah!
I'm working today so I'm up early to finish my presentation- oopps. I'm coming home about 6.30pm and then heading to a friend's house at 7.15pm to look after their kids until gone midnight - at least I'm keeping busy. Not much doing in terms of Old Style though - last night's dishes are still sitting in the kitchen
and the washing needs respun
- oh well - it's been a momentuous week so please forgive me.

Morning Gingham and Valentine :hello: And everyone else :hello:
GR, I read your thread last night - I was seething  I would tell you what I'd like to do, but my post will get deleted lol.
I had lots of little jobs planned for today but I had an order for cards last night :j I taped 3 episodes of CSI last night so I'll just sit in front of the TV, watch the video and play with bows and glitterBulletproof0 -
Thanks guys. Yes, it was mostly sorted out, fingers crossed. It's a long thread, don't bother reading it all! But it was lovely to get so much support on the boards when I was upset.
Valentine, that very faint 'is it really there' line is one I know well. Take care of yourself! xMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -

Morning Guys!
Didnt sleep very well and in some pain this morning. Just going to have some toast then take the heavy duty tablets:D As my folks were down....this will help with the pain later.
No need for the WM to go on but DW will be put on in a mo as I want this emptied for when they arrive. OH is peeling veg so its all prepared for later. Have decided to do a roast dinner...easier and sisters kids are so fussy! Its either Roast or chipsToilet has been cleaned and floor needs a quick mop. Apart from that all ok.
OH has made a wicked coffee and walnut cake and a choc swirl cake. DD is still in bed which is good as shes been horrid these past few days...any takers out there????:D
They are arriving at 9am and we are going straight off to Matalan/Asda & Lidls at Greenwich. Sister needs some clothes (whatever!) and there nearest Asda is 30 miles away. I need some knickers and a bra, so will see if I can find some. Apparently Lidls have some new stuff arriving today. We generally only go to Lidls when they are doing their half price fruit/veg (next week!) and maybe some top ups.
We have to be back no later than non as BIL and nephew are coming down after dropping dog to the kennels to have lunch. Then they have tickets to the Chelsea footy match and kicking off at 3.30. Its 20 mins into town from my house and live near the station so good location for them.
Im looking forward to spending some time with my sister and niece, she is 6 and lovely. I suppose my mum too and I love me dad....gees...Im getting nervous about them coming now:eek:
Anyway, I have to go.
Breakie: Toast & Coffee
Lunch: Rolls/Sarnies/Soup
Dinner: Roast Chicken, Stuffing, Roasties, Yorkies, Parsnips, Carrots, Cauiliflowers, Cabbage & Gravy
Wish me luck guys, better charge me scooter or I wont be going anywhere!!
Hugs
PP
