Mornin' Melt!
OH goes away a fair bit and it's always been one of my worries but always thought "nah....it would never happen to me". I'm at work all day after dropping DS at school and will probably be piling furniture up against the front door tonight! lol SOCO coming round this evening to examine letterbox!
Police advised to lock the door from the inside with a key to prevent the handle being pulled down...but you'd want the key to be somewhere near the front door in case of fire/emergency...but they said never keep any keys anywhere near the door?? Police reckon they were probably after the car keys....
Anyhow, this isn't about me it's about OS! lol. No white vinegar for me today cos as I was taking the shopping out of the car the other day...carrier bag split and the only thing to fall out and smash all over the drive..was....the vinegar! Niiiiice

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MISS NEAT!!!!
Morning everyone
Well back at work. My PC has been "fixed" meaning it works even worse than before. My printer's been knocked out and I'm amazed I can get on this page, as I can't seem to access hotmail. This place drives me mad. All I wanted was my email fixed and they've mucked with everything. How long till I can go home???
Decided I'm having the day off tomorrow as I don't want to work 2 weeks on the trot. So no sport games for me. I'm going to catch up on some sleep instead
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Morning everybody,
I'm up before 7 and we're on the second page already?
Wee bit hung over this morning! Went out to a friend's choir concert last night and ended up going out for a beer. And another beer. And... well, you get the general idea
Just using the fact that I'm up early to get a few things done on the PC before I go to work. Normally I'd take the opportunity to get into the office early, but I have a meeting at 9am on another site and there's no point going to my office first as it takes exactly the same amount of time on the train to get to one as to the other.
((((((((ageandjo)))))))) I hope it works out again, and that the home swap goes through after all.
CONGRATS Valentine x, hope it's true, and welcome to Old Style!
Happy Birthday Little Miss Neat!
Pen Pen - is it York University that your DD is visiting? As you know, I'm a York graduate myself. I actually first fell in love with the place when I was your DD's age and on a youth choir trip to York - we went to the university campus for our tea (Goodricke college canteen to be precise).
Found out yesterday that our office is being moved around again  Oh joy, just as I'll have been doing nothing but packing and unpacking boxes at home for weeks, I find out I'll have to do the same at work
Oh and I spent a scary amount of money yesterday on an order for some appliances. Annoyingly, the one thing I didn't manage to get was a washer-dryer; the one I've set my heart on, which is the best one on the market by far (with a price to match - you may recall I promised myself that I was going to buy it because of the chunk of back pay I got last month) is on manufacturer recall and currently unavailable  so rather than compromise immediately, I'm going to give it a week or two and see if the one I want comes back into stock.
Need to think of something OS for supper tonight.
Catch you later, love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

 Morning everyone,
Welcome to Valentine x and congratulations
I like Fridays, off to Tesco to stock up on wine for the weekend:beer: and then to my fave farm shop to see what seasonal treats they've got.
Going to make oxtail stew for supper. I'm also planning to make some leek and potato soup and cinnamon rolls for the kid's weekend breakfasts.0 -

Good morning everyone,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE MISS NEAT
ageandjo - (((:grouphug: ))) I do hope the appeal works, i dont see how they can refuse the move when you both want it. Will keep my fingers crossed for you xxx
Petal - We were broken into a few years back, these 'people(scum)' often use something through the letter box to hook the keys so they can get in easier, so thats why they recomend the keys are kept nowhere near the door. Mind you, i have a spare key taped near the door, where nothing can reach it just in case i need to get out in a hurry. Hope you will be feeling ok about it soon xxx
CONGRATULATIONS and welcome Valentine x
Melt - hope you have a lovely anniversary
Well, im so glad it is Friday!!!!:j I have 3 little ones here today, and we are going to decorate autumn leaves today with paint and glitter:eek: I will then be cleaning!!!!!
Nothing much else planned, will be putting some washing on in a minute, and making some pizza dough in the BM later, but apart from that i will be playing with the littlies!!!
Right, off to make the packed lunches, hope everyone has a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Morning Chums,
hope all of you had a peaceful night .it is very frosty here in my little corner of Kent this morning and it took me a little longer to get my joints going this morning. Still they all seem to be working ,albeit a bit slower.:j College today Maths in the morning and History this afternoon, followed but a shopping trip to Tescos to get my stuff for the week.:D Made about a gallon og home-made Vegatable soup last night in my SC and have frozen quite a bit, and have left some out for lunch today. I seem to have used up most of my veggies that were going over, so will have to restock with new.
Made some lovely shortbread for my eldest DD and she really enjoyed it. I have to make some cakes for tomorrow as one of my grandsons Ben, he comes to visit me every Saturday morning to do his homework. He has four siblings, so it's a bit noisey in his house. He takes his 11+ in January so it's an important time at the moment . Plus of course he likes to come and get a little bit spoilt by his Granny as well.
Re-wired an electric fire that my friend had given me and it works beautifully. Since my boiler was replaced, and my gas fire in the sitting room was removed, the fireplace looked a bit bare,so now there is a fire with a couple of bars for instant heat and a focal piont again.:j I also solved another little problem .My daughter has saucepans with glass lids and plastic knobs in the middle .One was pulled out of the cupboard by the baby, and although fell on the floor, the knob broke but the lid didn't. She was going to bin it ,but I said I would sort it .
I went to our local hardware shop (one of those that smells of linseed oil and turps ,a real old style one ) bought a very small wooden knob that you would normally use for a kitchen drawer .plus a little wood screw .Hey presto screwed the knob to the lid with the little screw through the middle ,one perfectly good glass saucepan lid again. cost 69p.
Old Stylers win through again.:j
Aussielass bring lots of warm clothes when you visit the UK in February as it's probably one of the coldest months , plus Scotland is really frosty then, probably with quite a bit of snow as well.
Well time to go as I am in need of a hot cuppa and a big bowl of porrige (I sould like Goldilocks ) have a good day everyone, and don't take any wooden nickels Nelly
(((hugs ))) to all in need0 -

 Valentine
Well we feel good in the house of gin. Oh lost his job yesterday but has gained a little of his sparkle back and that is lovely to see. He already has 2 interviews lined up for next week and somebody in the personnel has insisted his bonus was double what we anticipated (all signed on paper ). So it is  allround (these things never normally happen to us!). I now have to persuade Oh to take a couple of weeks off rather than jump into the next job. It did all work out well in the end.
There is much excitement from DD this morning, drumroll......she is getting new shoes! For an almost three year old this is very exciting! We also need to find a present for a friend's wedding next week and pick up some John Lewis Vouchers as that was what she requested but I would like to give her a small gift as well. I am off to pick up a Bella Ballerina dance studio reduced to £10 from Argos for dd's birthday, so is not exactly going to be a cheap day, will still stop for a coffee with dd as well.
O.S wise, the ironing pile doesn't seem to be getting smaller (might be because I haven't actually done any for this week). Need to make a curry for tonight.
I hope everyone has a good day and is looking forwards to the weekend, hugs to those that need them.0
