Hi to everyone. Hope you are all OK and commiserations to those who feel poorly or hard done to!
Haven't had time to read all of today's posts yet but I just had to tell you that DH and I have just planted a Crocus Spiral in our lawn. Can't wait for next spring to see how it turns out. It's got yellow, purple and purple/white striped and it should look soooo pretty!!:j I'm just a tiny bit worried that we might have made the spiral too tight - we'll just have to wait and see!
Will check in later to read posts. GS2's 4th birthday today so busy, busy, busy.:rudolf: Always skip and eat your peas :rudolf:0 -
Just got back form town - had a bit of a money saver idea
i mentioned earlier my poor pooch is feelign the cold os i was goign to buy him a proper doggy bed - he has the plastic basket bit btu i just put a fleece and a knitted blanket in it. Well i went int o wilko and decided we need some new pillows for the bed £1 each - came home and realised id forgot his bed - changed our pillows turned round and there was pooch cuddled up in our old pillows os now he has his knitted blanket on the bottom of his bed to pad it out a bit, our old pillows in his bed under his fleecy blanket adn if i make him a rice bag i can hide it between the pillows so he cant find it.
plus ive just put the heating on for the first time today - its 9 degrees celcius here today and set to reach 2 degrees tongith and 0 degrees tomorrow night so am going off to bleed radiators nwo and put fleece blankets under bedding ready. Aslo brought new bedding today too so will put that on too. Good god its cold.
Then am sitting down to make those rice bags for sure tonight but little one can have a hot water bottle to heat his bed later on before bed time i think. Will save on heating a bit i think and i can actually get some clothes dried - woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!

Just back from Tesco's and i am a BAD moneysaver as i bought a posh ironing board!!!!
It is a Minky professional workstation one which is much bigger and wider than the normal ones - comes with a sleeve board , extending flex etc! It cost £40! eek!
But - I needed a new one - it is sturdier - should be easier to iron stuff as it is bigger - and it may shame me into actuallly doing the ironing!!!!!"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

Back Again
At last I have an Avatar - its not brill but at least I worked out how to do it (which as normal was simplier than I thought)
Sitting here in pure peace and quiet which will end shortly. OH has taken DS straight from school to get some new football boots and DD not home yet (anyminute now) we are going to have caulifower cheese for tea as they will get KFC whilst they are out.
Bit annouyed with myself as earlier worked out my weekly budget and have only just remember am having a filling at the dentist on Sat so that makes me £40 out.
Well best be off now and do so more tidying. Am being dragged to an exercise class tonight and am really dreading it - hopefully it will be better than I expect - although not overweight I am not v fit at the mom.
See you later.0 -
Hi everone,
Skiving off from my distance learning course at the mo. I'm finding it difficult fitting everything in now but I am trying not to let the kitchen, abthroom and front rooms get into a state so that I can clean each of them in a few minutes.
Still trying to stick to my diet as well - I'd lost 3.5lbs this week so in just three weeks I've managed 8.5lbs. I'm really pleased but keep telling myself that I musn't get discouraged if it slows down.
Spoke to DS last night, he told me his GF had had her underwear stolen from the washing line and it was all the pants from her matching sets. The police have said there's nothing they can do but it must be a pervert because nothing else was taken.0 -
Hi - how is everyone? Just popping in 4 a catch up
I survived my 3rd day at work without being too tired. (no thanks to the dog waking me) Think the cold wind this morning woke me up. Feeling a bit more relaxed in the new job, get my own desk and pc on Thurs (yipee)
Should be doing a Big Shop tonight (cant be bothered), but its got to be done Im afraid.
Like jellycat40, I also have a bread maker (borrowed off my cousin to try it before buying 1), but Ive never used it. Its a morphy richards brand, I Would love to start making bread, just need some simple recipe's to start with before being adventerous with banana bread, etc.... So any advice please, will gratefully be received.
I got home from work, unloaded DW, put WM and Tdryer on, fed all animals, ironed all uniforms for school/work 2mr. Fetch DS & DD from school, helped with homework. Just having a brew now.
Early to bed - I hope.
Good evening all
Love to everyoneHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

If you know the model number for the machine, you can go to the morphy richards website & download a manual which has the recipes in.0 -
:j :j :T Australia in 2 days!! :T :j :j (Can you tell I'm excited?)
The freezer emptying mission has gone well over the last month or so, I'd advise anyone with a bulging freezer to make an inventory to stick on the door. I haven't bought meat for ages, and we've eaten freezer meals all month. Tonight it's beef stifado with the last of the shin - it's cooking as I type & smells wonderful.
Am currently in a mad cycle of clean, wash, tidy, pack, before we go - hopefully most of it will be done tonight so tomorrow night we can have a relaxing takeaway curry (pre-holiday tradition in this house) without worrying about what else is left to do.
Hope you're all OK & have survived the cold today - Brrrr <insert teeth chattering smilie here>0
