(and yes, i am still here, just lurking)0 -
The buns and scones look fab PP, but can i ask a question? You said your DD had baked 5 scones for a cookery lesson tomorrow, does this mean she cooks at home and takes the scones to school to be marked or something, do they not cook at school then? ( sorry for the question but i don't have kids, so a bit out of touch of the ways schools operate now).0

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 9th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning all. I hope the day goes well for you all. I have a slow day planned of easy on line Christmas shopping, making Christmas cards and Very light housework. Another member pointed me to a GREAT online site for children's wooden toys which is going to make the shopping easier. Rob Roy Wooden Toys.
Had some friends round yesterday and one brought me a big bag of baby clothes, some washable breast pads and a couple of maternity nighties.:j I am really getting organised for the birth now, although hopefully that's still a long way off.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Goodmorning GR & everyone else,
DGS down for his arv nap & thought I'd come on here for a surf. It was either that or iron.Very hard choice. Been up at the house most of the morning. DGS very happy to see us and has been a very good little boy today. When I was doing the lunch dishes he was telling me something. He was in our room. I said "in a minute" and went in and he was pointing to his cot, as he wanted to get in for his nap. Granny has trained him well.
He's been down now for 1 hr so he should wake up in about 1/2 hr.
Big storms here yesterday. We only got the rain but some places got their roof's off & trees down on top of their houses. Hail was the size of golf balls etc. Well off to have a bit of a surf. Hope you all have a great Thursday. ByeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
what you doing up so early mrs G?0

I'm not supposed to be typing as I keep waking DH up, but it's lovely to see you in Old Style, Nelly! (My asthma woke me and I can't get back to sleep even though it's fine now.)
I'll look out some threads for you. I think I'll start with the Mr Badexample index. But later, when DH is awake!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Morning everyone
Hi Nelly, nice to see you here in Old Style...you gonna knit us some yoghurt???
Another sleepless night....same old, same old! I have to be at w*** for 8.30am, I will be looking for somewhere to go and have a sneeky 40 winks at some point during the day I suspect.
I did absolutely no old styling or anything else even vaguely resembling housework yesterday, so things are starting to build up again. I'll be resorting to the "do everything at the weekend" method of tackling the house.
Many many congratulations to Joannasmum...you sounded totally shocked at your news, but shocked in a good way of course. I'm delighted for you, your unexpected pregnancy has quite obviously made you v.happy.
There is nothing else to report, it being the middle of the night...
Have a fab Thursday everyone.

Well, I've got organised with some Christmas shopping, had breakfast, swished the bathroom and managed to do it all without waking DH. Not a bad start to the day. Nelly, I'll look out some of my favourite threads later for you, just to show you how great this part of the site is!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
