Are you boiling the kettle "so much" just for hot drinks?
You can cut your energy consumption by investing in a large flask - once you've boiled your full kettle and made your cuppa, pour the rest of the boiled kettle water into the flask. Next time you want/need a cuppa, you'll have a flask of hot water ready and waiting

Last time I went, he gave me an injection and I asked him to be gentle with me and gave him a list of promises if he would be ... ticking off my mental check list of [STRIKE]bribes[/STRIKE] promises, I recited ... "I'll bake you a Christmas Cake; I'll quilt you a bedcover; I'll do your hoovering; I'll rustle up some gooey chocolate brownies ..... " Then I heard him saying, "Just one more ... "
... and I thought  and told him straight "I'm not having your babies!"
"No, no" he chuckled, "I meant, one more injection"

Well the morning began with a "talk" - had a phone call from one of the mum's last night, just as we were on our way out for the evening and it seems there's been a bit of a falling out between our kids 'group'. Home later than I'd expected last night so the "United Nations Peace Talks" had to wait until breakfast. All a mountain out of a molehill kind of thing once it was all unravelled, but I am pleased she called me about it - so much easier/healthier to get things out in the open instead of talking behind backs and making false assumptions. So, a relieved and happier pair of soldiers left this morning with a spring in their step. Just need to give the mum a call and explain what I know so the 'group' can move forward in a positive and more productive manner. Good positive start to the day
Need to throw those el-cheaper-use-pronto-2-bob-bargain-veggies into the slow cooker to make up some stock/soup so I can get on with my day elsewhere. (Meaning, dentist again at midday) Still have my 20 minute whip round to do - but at least the rooms/beds have now aired and only need remaking
Must get to the library and source some books that I need to read - probably means having to book them, but if that's the case, I'll get d12yo to book them for me (it will cost me, but they don't charge him)
Have a goodly supply of carrier bags which need sifting through and sorting and prepping - going to have another go at using those on the peg loom - think I might have been doing it wrong when I tried before and doing it another way should bring far better results. I hope.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and more ((free hugs)) for the day:wave:

So lovely OS'ers what do you do to keep you motivated and make it feel like it's all worth while?
Two things work for me:-
1) To Do Lists - I work much better if I have a "Must Do- Should Do - Honey Do (that's the delegation one:whistle: ) and The World Won't End if I Don't Do"
Personally, I find I can focus on the important bits and not sweat the small stuff. Prioritise, prioritise, prioritise!
2) Pamper Basket - everyone should have one!
It's my 'reward' basket - it's mine - no one else is allowed near it/touch it/see inside it! In it goes free samples, special 'treat' products, mediation tape (confess that's now been updated to an MP3) bath products, beauty products, book of motivational sayings/quotes, anything that makes *me* feel special and pampered - and that sometimes includes those times when I crave chocolate
Do not disturb sign crucial!
It's my works "bonus".
Rewards, rewards, rewards.
If I'm feeling weighed down with all that needs to be done, I'm going to feel under appreciated, stressed, resentful and that will spill over into everything I do, say and touch (last week I definately had the SADIM touch) *but* if I take some guilt-free time out with my pamper basket; I'm happier, I remember that essentially, I need to appreciate myself and my endeavours and not look outwardly to others for it. Then, magically, everything seems to fall into place and those around me seem to show their appreciation more - simply because I'm more open and receptive to it I think
Ditch the Guilt, tinkerbellukYou've *earned* down time ((hugs))

Dull morning, very overcast here, but no rain forecast as yet. Not a lot on. OH is hoping to get the gress cut and we will go to the library this afternoon. Have a book due back I want to renew.
Had my first go in the new car yesterday, will take a bit of getting used to after the big estate car, but its very nice............the garage gave us elitie breakdown cover on the car, so I cancelled my breakdown cover, £50 refund, cant be bad, it will pay for the travel lodge when we go to Chester next month. and I will not have to renew ours until next November, great........as ours runs from July to July it will save me some cash next year as well.
Nothing much else on today, cleaned through the house yesterday, so its clean and fresh, have to sort through the washing see if I have a full load of anything.....I could also do with a wardrobe sweep, anything we have not worn for 12 months to the charity shop........I have two waxed jackets in the wardrobe in the back bedroom, one has never been worn, wonder if I could sell it on e bay????????????????
Right I am off for my:coffee: think pizza for supper so need to put the BM on and make the tommy sauce..................we are just using up the last of the lettuce from the garden, have not bought lettuce since the beginning of june!!!!!
Have a good day folks..........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Morning all and :grouphug: to all.
Am starting to panic that I'm not going to have a job to go to when I leave the place I'm in at the end of the month.
Probably won't be on here much this week as I frantically fill out application forms ........ either that or I'll be here constantly avoiding filling them out :rotfl:
Joannasmum That's terrific news!My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

Goodmorning everybody,
Well it's night here.Had a big day at the house today. We started the downstairs ceilings. DH hired this *thing* that you put the plasterboard on top of and wind it up so it keeps the board up while you glue/screw. The *thing* was about as old as Adam
and soooooooo bloody hard to manourve which was my job as DH was up the ladder screwing madly away. Suffice to say lots of mutterings coming from him & giggles from me.
In between I gave the place a really good sweeping and tidy as DGS is coming tomorrow and he will have to spend most of the day with us up there as we only have the *thing* until Fri morning & we are only about 1/2 way through.
Plans tonight are for a soak in the bath. It's raining here tonight.
Congratulations Joannasmum. What a surprise for you both.
Bgn Rzl  You poor thing. You must be getting so downheartened about everything. (((((((((hugs)))))))))))
Well I will be off. HOpe everyone else is having a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeee
Just read my post. The first paragraph sounds a bit rudebut I don't mean it to be.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Congratulations Joannasmum! That's brilliant news
Hugs to poorly or sad people. :grouphug:
am having a wardrobe crisis. It's Aunty's funeral tomorrow, and she said that no one is to wear black and to wear bright colours if possible. I don't have anything vaguely smart that isn't black.have emailed my sister (who has a more extensive wardrobe) and requested that she bring clothes!

Morning all
Feeling tickety boo this morning as it's only one more day until my fella comes home. Also had some great news last night, he is now going to be doing set shifts which will mean he can work with his builder friend in the mornings and at his normal job (he works in a gym) in the afternoons/evenings. This means more money for xmas :j and other such luxuries such as food and petrol! lol It also means it will be easier for me to plan meals and stuff AND we will get to spend virtually every weekend together.
So things are looking up.
My ex rang my daughter last night and spoke to me as if nothing had happened! I give up with the silly man. (he's recently told me he won't be paying maintenance until further notice).
I'm working all day today and won't get home until I pick my DD up after Karate at about 4.50pm. So not much housework for me today. Just cooking and the usual tidy/washing up for me today.
Have a great day everyone and :T to Joannasmum!!! congratulations to you! I am green with envy as we would love to have a baby but as we are struggling financially we have to wait for a while. We’ve had to remove your signature.
