I have the DW loaded and the slowcooker cooking tonights dinner.. just have new potatoes to fling in later. Both washers need loading but they will just have to wait I need a cuppa!
Having a blast of my youth listening to Def Leppard.. gosh how I loved them when I was 15!! lol.. I may have to have 'armageddon it' as my ringtone on my phone.. or is that WAY too sad??

Great to see you back Churchmouse :hello: I hope you had a lovely time!
Welcome to pigpen! Mum of eight?? I struggle to cope with three, so you have my greatest admiration! :T

Just put DD down for her nap.
She didn't want to go - but I insisted! (She'll sleep for 2 hours, when I'll have to wake her so she clearly needs it)
Was going to have a leisurely 2 hours, however, the sun is very bright and low and when DD and I were "boinking" down the stairs I noticed lots of lovely dust in places I don't normally notice. So I'm off to get dusters, cloths, stardrops and start cleaning between the banisters. Lucky me.
Mum of eight!!!! How on earth do you do it pigpen. I can imagine either a complete rabble or a military operation!"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Morning evderyone. I know only just, but as i haven't had lunch yet, does that count.
I'm having one of those mornings with the baby. He was really grizzly between 6 and 11, and wouldn't settle back down unless in my arms. A total mummys boy already. Typically, he hasn't been like this any other day when we have had help.
DH's car is in for a service today, so i am housebound. He couldn't drop the car keys off, but a nice man from the garage came around and got them for us. Nice family business - couldn't see a chain doing that for you. Very helpful, particularly as some yobbos had put in their shop window last night.
I have had the health visitor visit us. Charlie put on 10 ounces last week, little piglet. Now 8 pounds 11 1/2 ounces.
I am waiting for the midwife to visit, then will have lunch, tackle the washing up, tidy up a bit, all ifhe remains sleeping. I plan to use the rest of the roast chicken that MIL cooked to make chicken curry. I'm going to use the cheats option of a jar of sauce.
All very ambitious for a woman who hasn't managed to clean her teeth yet this morning, but as the cats are in, i'm not leaving them all downstairs without my supervision, and charlie can stay in the crib until he cries again so i can rest till the next crying/feeding session.
churchmouse welcome back. hope the ironing pile is soon diminished.
PP also couldn't see your photos. hope the new meds are what you need to feel better
rchdapp can't be long now. Is it another couple of weeks? Make sure that bag is packed ready and you get lots of rest. Believe me, you don't get much afterwards.
pigpen hello and welcome - agree with pinkwingeds comments. 8! where do you keep all the stuff as i am overrun with just one little baby.
hope those of you who don't feel well are soon back on your feet.
Hugs to everyone,

Just had to say Michelle that I've only just seen your avatar. He is absolutely gorgeous! Make the most of him while he's like this, it seems like no time ago that my 23yo was that size.0

Hi everyone!
Will go back and read the thread properly in a mo but hugs to those who need them.
I'm on my lunchbreak at present after a very very busy OS weekend. Am dead proud because I've finished all my Chrimbo pressie shopping. Managed to escape into town on my own on Saturday as it was OH and the small person to finish and the charity shops came up trumps...for £15 I got OH a pair of binoculars in mint condition which I simply couldn't afford new and a telescope on a tripod with various lenses still unopened in its original packaging for the small person aswell as a tree present for my Mum. How chuffed am I!!
Seem to have done a lot of cooking this weekend in between other domestic trivia. We enjoyed bottom of the fridge soup both days with leftover veg and stock and then HM apple bread for pud which I found hidden in the freezer. Even the small person had the soup! Also made turkey nuggets and goulash in the SC.
Yesterday was possibly not one of the most thrilling of my life as we hired a rug dr but we do now have much cleaner carpets and upholstery. I shall shove that in the home maintenance category I think.
Nothing too racy planned for today. Bins and recycling have been put out along with some bags for the charity shop. Dark wash done and hanging and hideous pile of ironing when I get home. Shall also make some calls..one to confirm our summer hol booking for next year and the other one to take up a friend on her offer of a free Reiki massage. So not all bad!!
Have a good day.
Aril
Michelle...glad to see you're back online. I think you're doing fantastically. I don't think I could even remember my own name at this stage!!!Aiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -
Afternoon all
I've been a bit absent because of DS's birthday celebrations last week - plus the aftermath.
Today I'm back in the groove and so far, have :
- gone through my suitcase of "I'll probably never fit into this again, but I can't bear to give it away" clothes and found three or four items that I now fit into - and six or seven more that I'll fit into quite soon! :j
- fixed two pieces of curved corkwood bark into Pearl & Dean's cage. They are our new Zebra Finches, they're 3 months old and totally adorable. I'm slowly introducing new things for them to play with, but they are busy making a nest and have got a glint in their eye.
- made the "Carrot & Apple Muffins" from the recipe collection. They're fabulous and when I've finished this, I've got an appointment with one and a cuppa! They're going to be great for DS's lunchbox treats.
- received a whole heap of freebies - dog treats, coloured shampoo/conditioner, facial care preparations, coffee testers etc. Boy, but I love freebies.
- cleaned the loo and done the dishes (not at the same time).
After said cuppa, I'll vac the dining/sitting rooms and take the vac upstairs for tomorrow's instalment of bedroom cleaning.
I've got to do the meal plans for the next week, including DS's lunchbox planner, then do the shopping list for tomorrow. I also need to list a couple of things on Freecycle and rustle up a couple of things for Ebay. Somewhere in all that, I shall make a chicken pie for dinner tonight and do some more dishes.
Tonight I need to set to and make three birthday cards, as I can see them coming into view on the calendar!
I suppose I'd better get on with it all, then.
I'll be back later to read the thread properly, so apologies to any occurrences of great import that I might have missed and hugs to those who need them.
Tata!! Zzzzooooommmmmmmmm ..... :rotfl::hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
