Good Morning All
Bright and sunny here in Essex now the mist has gone. Am feeling a bit chilly but will warm up when get going.
Have lots to do today - at least 3 loads of washing. Swish bathrooms and hoover landing, stairs and kitchen.Wash kitchen floor. Ensure washing basket is empty and all ironing done up to date (been quite good at this one). Wont be doing a meal plan as such this week, just every evening will be pulling something out of the freezer to start to make some room for Xmas stuff. Have got a major filing job for my business but it takes a few hours so will schedule this for Thurs but want to start decluttering office so will do this in 15 min bursts here and there.
Didnt finish inlaws Xmas shopping last week after all so this is another aim for this week. Have ordered some Silicone Bakeware and hope this inspires me to start doing some more baking, this is always on my aim list but doesnt seem to happen.
Am hungry now so off to have some marmite on toast and then get going - have a great day.0 -
Morning all!
Putting my washing out in a min as its nice and sunny. Glad bonfire night is over - just hope theres gonna be no more fireworks going off now as one of my dogs is really frightened of them. I love fireworks myself but I couldn't be bothered with any of it this year. Kids went across the road to a neighbours party and we stayed in. Its now official - Im an old fogey at the age of 42 because this is the very first year we haven't had fireworks or gone somewhere to watch them!
I feel desperate to redecorate our bedroom and would love to get it done before Christmas. It is quite musty smelling behind some wardrobes and I want to pull them all out, redecorate and freshen it all up. Its a big job because we have a lot of big wardrobes in our room and the other 2 bedrooms are too small for us to temporarily put them in there. Hubby works all week and plays golf on Saturdays so its going to be very hard to persuade him to do it (with my help of course!). Any tips for getting OH interested?
Have a good day everyone! :wave:0 -
Good morning everybody:hello:
Well I'm back from my holiday, and have come down to earth with a bump!! It feels so cold here! Had a lovely time and feel quite refreshed, although I may not by the time I've dealt with all the washing/ironing we brought back added to what was greeting me from DSs!!
Have been to the gym this morning, and it wasn't quite the shock to the system I was expecting. Must be all that walking I did on holiday. And Malta is very hilly!!! Or at least the bits I wanted to see were!
New grandson has held off making his appearance (good lad) so have told DIL she can go into labour any time she likes now!:rotfl: Well if they want me to have DGS while she has baby, they had to fit in with my hols:D
I've tried to have a flit through a few daily threads, but it becomes quite impossible, everything just gets too muddled. Hope I haven't missed anything too momentous. Love Michelles avatar with Charlie, he's a real sweetie!! And I did see Penny-Pincher's photos last night. Really lovely PP!!! Thought you all looked smashing. DD's blonde slices look great, quite subtle, but make a big difference. Hope all goes well for your appointment today.
AussieLass, gather DGS is now back with XDIL. You'll miss your little man won't you, but you'll still have your regular contact.
Snowy, hope the new job is going well. Whatever, it has to be better than that last hell-hole you were in. Hope this lot are appreciating you. So you and Pink had a mini-meet? Bet that was fun.
Well I suppose I really must get off and do something OS. Bottle of stardrops and a microfibre cloth should do it, along with plenty of soda crystals in the WM!!
Hope you all have good days, CMxx
PS Thanks for having missed me Catowen!! I'll just assume everybody else remembered I was on holiday!! :rolleyes:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Morning!
Much colder here this last few days.
Our car had a flat battery again ,this time when DH was about to take them all to Karate. He had to leave the battery on charge all night and rather than bring it in , he charged it in situe so we had electrical leads sticking out of the letterbox all night which of course meant the freezing cold air had a way inOur front door leads straight onto the stairs. When I was in bed I suddenly thought ,why not stick a sponge in the gap? so I did and it was much better. Sunday morning we got into the car to go to Asda's and then buy a new battery when we discovered someone had turned the radio down instead of off and it had been on all week long. Oh well ! At least it meant we didn't need a new battery after all.
This weekends charity shop finds were a black hooded coat for DD £4
Wool jumper and plain t shirt for DS (I will embroider on the tshirt) £1.50
DD's books for xmas arrived from Amazon so I have to find a safe place to put them, then on with the days jobs.
All the best

:coffee: steaming at my side. OH has just nipped out, his last trip in our old car, collecting the new one this afternoon.............
Nice bright sunny but cold mornning, off in a mo to hang out the sheets ...... should dry a bit. Managed to get yesterdays almost dry, finished them off with 10 minutes in the dryer and then folded them, just pillowcases need a quick run over with the iron.
Nothing much planned for today, apart from collecting the car. Much better nights sleep, did wake a couple of times, but soon went off again, think it must have been the late supper etc which affected me on Saturday night.
Egg and chips for supper......... bread and cheese, I think at lunchtime.......could flick the duster over the bedroom and run the hoover over the carpet..........I'll think about it. Still cannot see Charlie or PP??????????Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hello everybody,
Welcome back Churchmouse :wave:I thought you had another week left. Yes, DGS is now back with Mummy. I took him back Saturday. Guess who'se been a sad Granny ever since but I have him every Thursday and he sleeps over. :jThe little [STRIKE]traitor[/STRIKE] cherub now says Poppa. One would think he would have said Granny first.Hrrrmph.
Busy day today. Did the bulk of the stuff. Got the tiles. Last week DH didn't like the feature tile I chose but today I had that mulishlook on my face that brooked no argument that we WERE going to get that tile.
Will post a pic of the finished room at a later date to get everyone's verdict. Those who hate it, please keep quiet.
Cleaned out my tupperware cupboard tonight. I say tupperware but it's mainly recycled containers. Put quite a few aside for XDIL. Also bought some safety things for her to put around her house for DGS. Ok will head off for a quick surf and sort out all these receipts. HOpe you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hi all,
Well, the weekend went far too quickly. Not helped by the fact that I was ill on Saturday and spent the day in bed so we didn't get to the Firework display we'd planned to.
Bit better yesterday so ran into Cambridge and had a look round the market and then OH went to PC world to get a new graphics board for the pooter cos it had burnt out. I'm thankful he's so handy round the house, the only thing he won't tackle is gas (and I'd rather he didn't do that anyway).
Cooked a roast guinea fowl last night and there's enough left for me to have with salad tonight, also curried some chicken thighs for later in the week. Weight watchers tonight but I don't think I'll have lost much.
Made more progress on de-cluttering our bedroom so I feel quite happy about that. Won't get much done today though because I've got to come back to work for a meeting tonight. I've also got to try and finish an assignment for my course.0 -
Back from the hospital with new tablets:rolleyes:
