Good Morning Frugalpie (though it looks like you've already left for w***) and all who follow!
First job today is to check my car's MOT. It's not had one yet, and is nearly 3 years old. Is that when they need it first? Off to investigate.
My spare room is now completely tidy, so I need to start stripping the wallpaper. It needs a complete decorate, including replastering the ceiling and restoring the floorboards. Then the whole house will have been done! Hurrah!
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Morning. Another cold and frosty one.
It's my last week away on my course. I can't wait for it to finish...it's becoming a drag. Courses used to be fun...But after 5 weeks they become boring...I mean there is only so much lager you can drink:rotfl:
So I am away from the house again and corresponding by phone. I think it's been a strain on everyone.
We had a great fire works party last night. The garden box of fireworks were a little tame. It certainly does pay to go to a display, but you can't beat a winter BBQ and toasty fire.
Well got to hit the M5 for one last time.... CheersNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
morning all
Back to earth with a bump today; HUSBAND (hee hee) and I have had 3 weeks off work so today is our first day back at work. Im quite looking forward to it, as i like my routine. Our sleep isnt QUITE back to what it should be but im sure it will 'right it self during the next couple of days.
I must investigate cleaning under all the keys on my keyboard as they are all starting to stick and miss the odd key press. grr, might just borrow one from work.
In a none too OS way, ive just taken great delight in using my clinique 3 step stuff i got in america, for a like 2/3's cheaper than in england. w00t, cheap and shiny skin eh.
Was super efficient lastnight during Circque de Celebrite, made OH a packed lunch and even buttered myself some stottie ready for my yummy crisp sandwich at work. ooooh ive been craving these like billy-o. and no im not pregnant!
Meals today :
Breakky - Fruitscone at work, OH-crisps
Dinner - Sandwiches and fruit at work

frugalpie, dogrose, anacasta, taplady, hilstep2000 - wishing you all a good day at work but for dlb's husband ... good luck in the new job! :T (and well done on your ds's win yesterday :T :T :T )
Welcome back michelle & Charlie :j
mrs_mix - hope ds2 has fun making his scones today
:rotfl: @ N9eav - ah, one of *those* coursesHoping the week flies by for you *and* your family.
PP - like dorry and csarina - your pix didn't show up for me eitherA couple of times now you've posted that you've put pix up but they are not showing up. Hope you're not having trouble with the hosting website!
Had great fun menu planning and putting together the shopping list using a great little piece of software I invested in - obviously the demo suckered me in  Meant I remembered to put the black beans into soak overnight so today's meal is all going to plan, so far
Yesterday, d11yo made jam crumblies for the packed lunches  and the boys got on and made their pack up - bonus!!
Made up a bottle of Zoflora which I'd bought when it was reduced; those 5ltr water bottles are perfect for making up the whole amount in one go instead of piddling around with capful measurements! I now have that in the bathroom and decanted some into a squirty bottle to use as air freshner. In my enthusiasm, gave the bathroom a late afternoon rub down, it was pure pleasure going in there this morning  Little things, ehOk, maybe I'm swayed by the lavender scent
Speaking of lavender, Pooky and Kethry - it's the wrong time of year to be drying lavender - needs to be done in the summertime just as the flowerheads are about to open. Then, you cut them with long stalks, tie the stalks together and put the head ends into a brown paper bag and hang them upside down in a dry place so that the flower heads fall into the bag
I confess that I've made the rice bags without any dried lavender in them and using just lavender oil; they were ok (just don't make the mistake I made with my first few bags = basmati and jasmin rice is a little to pungent in there own right).
Thanks twink for the reminder about lavender, I have a hm sleep pillow on my bed anyway, but I topped it up last night with a couple of drops and slept much, much better :T (May also have been a result of breating in all those Z. fumes  )
Now I'm off to enjoy a bowl of porridge with a big dollop of hm apple puree that I made in the microwave yesterday for the freezer; kept some back though just for breakfast
Have as good a day as you make up your mind it will be and (((free hugs))) for anyone who chooses to take them:wave:

Morning everyone
Ds is not well today, nothing major but has a temperature and a sore throat (and a cold nose according to him!) so he will be staying at home today, he is already snuggled up under his duvet in a big old chair we have, hot chocolate might be on the menu soon. Had fun with our sparklers last night probably didn't help ds but even dd cautiously held one.
I got oh to install me excel so I can start writing some lists (I love lists!), we have so much to clear/ donate/ get rid of before we go to Oz and I want to be really organised with this. Also want to work out our funds, we have been fairly stagnant the last few months but my mum and dad very kindly offered to look after the children for a week so oh and I could go away, so we are off to New York in 4 weeks time, hence the no savings but it has now all been paid for and will be well worth the money.
Need to menu plan for the week, so not sure yet what we will be eating, probably meatballs and pasta with a tomato sauce. Yet more ebay parcels to pack up and bed sheets need to be changed.
Have a good day everyone, hugs to those that are tired/ poorly/ down. :grouphug:0
