    *sigh*

idiots are letting off firecrackers.. OH just tried to take the dog for a quick pee before the worst of it.. he had to drag her out the gate, and she dragged him home. Poor baby. (that's her btw with me in the photo). OH is on guard, in case they stick a firework in a letterbox or something... its the worst night of the year round here.

just tried to melt down some soap, put essential oil and lavender flowers in and ended up with a sort of brown sludge. yuck. not doing that again. I've got apple, orange and lemon slices drying out in the oven for decorations for xmas.. made more rice bags - some of the ones i've made are small enough to tuck inside the palm section of a glove, but i might make some glove ones, see how i get on.

gonna go clean up the soap in a minute and start dinner (Minestrone stew)... then might make some cards before i call it a night and snuggle down on the sofa for the night. Got to talk to my mom via MSN later (we don't do the phone thang, not when i'm deaf) There's planet earth on BBC1, Torchwood (with the oh-so-delectable John Barrowman) on BBC3, and when all that fails, ST:DS9 on video (which we're re-watching from the beginning).

    have a good evening everyone!!

Got mine online, don't have the link anymore but got a sack of wheat and a huge bag of lavender for £20ish - it's easily made 25 big bags (hot water bottle size), probably about 6 smaller ones, there's enough left for the sock warmers. I didn't put lavender into all the bags (my mum hates the smell of it so hers was plain) and used the rest of the huge bag in some lavender bags that are hanging in the wardrobes and resting in the draws.

Wouldn't have a clue how you go about drying it yourself - I'm sure google will come up with something though.

    Hi everyone

I had a fabulous day today with Pink-winged, her husband and their two sons. The car boot we went to was OK...not the big mountains of bargains I was hoping for, though I did buy some books which were dirt cheap.

The highlight of the day was a trip to a nearby open farm...they have all sorts of things there - a camel, llamas, a snake (which you're allowed to hold!), chipmunks, two little monkeys, a taurantula, exotic birds, little minature goats which were so cute and friendly, a v.cute pot bellied pig, some reindeer, guinea pigs, bunny rabbits, chooks and quails, a wallaby.... Pink's two sons seemed to love the place. After all that entertainment we went off and had big cups of coffee and some naughty cakes. It was an excellent day out!

Pink was v.v.kind and gave me a loaf from her brand new bread maker. It really is the most tasty bread I have ever had. The prepackaged bought stuff is like cotton wool in comparison...so Pink, thank you, I'm loving it!

How much housework have I got done today?
Answer = none...lol. OK I put a cup in the dishwasher, but that hardly counts. The house is an embarrassing tip. I'm going to clear off for an hour or two and try and get some semblance of a hygienic home going.

Kethry, thanks for the link for the lavender. I think I'll get hold of some and make wheat/rice bags for Christmas. I like what that website says about vacuuming up some lavender and how it acts like an air freshener - going to do that one too.

Time I wasn't here! Bye all, enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

  • Evening Guys!

Had a great time at the wedding and all went smoothly:D Feel so tired and exhausted.

Just had tacos and salad for dinner. DD is at her friends and OH is just about to pick her up:rolleyes: 2 washloads done and hung outside...cold but dry and windy. DW emptied and house generally tidy.

Wont stop as Im knackered and have a few other things to look at on here. Must find out what time my appointment is tomorrow:confused:

    Hugs to all.

  • Hiya everyone.

Been trying to keep up with you all. Its been easy enough to read while breastfeeding charlie but i need to practice one handed typing. ;)

I've not really been around much as i have had an infection, and also had to go back up to the hospital for further tests as charlie still has jaundice. They took so much blood from the poor little thing, and he was a real trooper. Only cried a bit. They are testing him for some genetic diseases, although the dr didn't think he had them - just a side effect of the forceps birth and the breast feeding but they have to check to be safe as it could lead to nerve damage in the brain if not treated. Probably means that we will be back at the hospital for more tests though.

I've had my MIL stopping with us until today. I have really appreciated having her help, but i'm going to be so glad to start the new week with just us two at home, as we are nearly 3 weeks in and i haven't been able to start a routine. It has been hard to be polite all the time when i saw her do things that weren't how i'd do it, and i will be trying to flylady this coming week as i don't know where she has put anything, and my ironing pile is at least 3 feet high.

It makes me sound ungrateful i know, but its daft stuff like i like to do my own washing, and i try to hang clothes so they don't need ironing, whereas things where inside out, creased. Plus, she roamed free around the house, so i'd be breastfeeding in bed, and she'd suddenly appear. Then there was the day she popped to the shop with him for a couple of bits and was gone 2 hours, disrupting feeding times that day. Is it just me who cringes when someone has free range around your house and invades your privacy???? (even caught her with my maternity notes  )

gosh - going to stop whinging, but it's not the sort of thing that i can get off my chest with DH as its his mum, but he agreed it was a bit OTT. At least she filled my freezer up for me.

I'll be trying to get back into regular posting from tomorrow.

I have read all the posts from me being missing, but some are a blur. Will be great to get back into it.

    Hugs everyone,
    Michelle, xx

    Hi everyone! :hello:

We had a great day out today with the lovely Snowyowl. We all really enjoyed your company Snowy and the little one said on the way home, "I liked her; she’s a really nice lady!" Praise indeed! :D

The boot sale didn’t have as many bargains as we were expecting, but I still managed to get a book I was looking for £10.99 reduced to 50p, a glass jar £1 (impulse buy, no idea what I'm going to do with it:confused:) and an electric carving knife for £1.50 and it works perfectly….a good saving as I was going to spend £7.50 on one from Argos tomorrow.

The farm was brilliant and the boys really enjoyed it…...you’ll all be glad to know that Snowy and I were sensible enough to refrain from kissing the camel….unlike the rest of my family! :o

Hot coffees and chocolate muffins rounded the day off perfectly!

The only OS thing I’ve done today was to put a meal in the slow cooker this morning so we came home to a lovely lamb hotpot. Planning to make bread tonight for the lunches tomorrow, but that’s about it. All that fresh air has wiped me out, so going to sit down and put my feet up for a while.

I hope everyone else had a good Sunday! :)

Michelle, i love you avy, Charlie is absolutly georgeous!!!!
  • excellent that i managed to do the avatar upgrade. :j This is the 1st time i've managed to get on the main computer to access the digi pics, and i thought i couldn't put it in.

Woohoo. I haven't gone totally mushy.

Thank you cat for praise of my boy. I think that but i am highly biased. He looks just like DH at that age, although he has got my dark hair and i think he will end up with brown eyes as well, whereas DH is strawberry blonde with blue.

I am so pleased i can show him off to you. (i should say that is a piccie that DH col,our enhanced so he looked less like a simpsons character.

See you all tomorrow. I can hear that i have another nappy to change.

    Tired but happy Michelle, xx
