We went to the dinner dance, I really should not eat after 6.pm. I was awake most of the night, at one point, thought I was going to be sick, but it passed............I was blaming the chicken, although it was hot.......

Feel like a wet dishrag this morning, have only just got out of my pit, wanted to strip the bed, so have the quilt cover and 4 pillow cases plus a tablecoth and mats in the wahser, sheet and the rest of the pillow cases to follow tonight..... want to try and get some fresh air through them.

Its another bright, sunny day, not as cold as it has been, windows are not so steamed up this morning.

    :coffee: calling..................

    Morning all

Having a very frustrating convo on another board so thought id just nip in here for a quick chill out and a coffee (or may make that a glass of wine seeing as its Sunday:beer: )

Had lots of plans today but have kind of opted for a lazy day on mse instead. Do need to nip to Asda soon though to pick up enough spuds to do cheesy bacon jackets for 25:eek:
Off to a firework party with the neighbours tonight and we are all cooking something. May chuck a chilli together as well though when we have done this before there always ends up enough food to feed about 3 streets!!

Really glad Im not driving up to Scotland tonight it makes such a difference to have my lovely long sunday to [strike]get lots of housework done[/strike] laze in my dressing gown till lunch time:o

Will need to get some stuff done today unfortuanatly as the house is a bit of a tip and I have a parental visit tomorrow which is aligned to an Andrea Turner white glove visit:rotfl: Still its all worth it as we are then off to chose me a new suite which my wonderful parents have decided to help fund :A

Anyway going to get to asda then these spuds can go in the oven (25 spuds is a lot to cook:D  )

Have a happy and safe Bonfire night everyone and if anyone fancies a cheese and bacon jacket i think there may be some spare:rotfl:

Bought the wrong kind of yeast yesterday! idiot! Never mind - I'll just make bread by hand rather than using the BM. Serves me right for not looking closely - I just thought it would be easier to have the yeast in a little tub rather than those stupid sachets.

Peem, when I first had my breadmaker, I used the tubs (Allinson brand - is that what you have?). It worked fine, but they then changed the packaging, and I continued to use it for ages before realising, so give it a try - it may still work. I now but the sachets and they fill exactly into the empty tub!

Though I have a strong distaste for the death penalty, I don't think I'll be protesting to save the life of Saddam. I had a friend at university who was Iraqui, and his family had suffered, along with every family he knew.

  • Hi all :hello:

I haven't posted in such a long time but I do pop in regularly and browse to see what's new on the OS front.

Had to give myself a kick up the bum this weekend as I weighed myself on Friday and I have put on 1/2 stone since July. Not a happy bunny. I have lost 4 stones since I was diagnosed with diabetes and I just refuse to put it back on again. So, I forced myself to go swimming this morning at 8.00 am (went to mass last night as I had planned to have a lie-in today  ). Did 16 lengths so didn't feel too bad. Have kept myself busy doing lots of little jobs too so that I won't be tempted to sit down with a cup of tea and something I shouldn't be eating. ;)

Like lots of you, I intend to go through the freezer and see what I already have and what I need to buy before I head to the supermarket.

    Have a good day everybody.

    morning folks,

didn't sleep too well last night... the dog kept crawling on the covers, which effectively flattens the covers.. and pulls them off me. I'd wake up, freezing, kick the dog off, snuggle back under the covers, warm up again, go back to sleep, the dog'd creep back up on the bed.. and you get the idea. Tonight, i swear, i'm gonna tuck the bloomin covers in under me!

yesterday did some rice bags, put lavender in as well, although i'm now worried i put too much in. The house reeks of lavender as a result.. LOL.. but the rice bags do look nice. Making lots of different sizes, from small palm size ones that could be sneaked into the palm of a glove, through to bigger ones. they do work though, rather well.

gonna do breakfast in a minute - toast from HM bread - then get on with xmas pressies, make some more rice bags i think. got to figure out how to make frames for some photos to turn into fridge magnets (got the magnetised strip part, just the frames part i gotta do), christmas cards to make.. lots to get on with. Oh, and put the WM on.. OH is out of t-shirts so it needs doing, badly.

Dinner: Minestrone stew with HM bread to dunk in it. Might do a microwave sponge for pud. will see.

have a good day, everyone - :grouphug: to those who need one!

Having a fairly relaxing day trying to use yp some stuff in the freezer and store cupboard for meals, though need to shop for some fresh foodstuffs.

Off to see friend's son's geckos later as daughter might have one with all the paraphenalia for Christmas, so a family visit to see their reptiles is in order as I don't know much about them!

Hope you all have great days
