    Good Morning All.

I've been so busy that I didn't post as I knew I wouldn't have time to read the thread. Anyhow, life is back to some type of normality again.

I've discovered the perils of the veg box - too much cabbage! But it has prompted me to get another composter and to start composting all the household waste, rather than just garden waste. Our local council produce a fabulous little book, so I rang them and asked nicely and they sent me a copy. It's explains everything you can and can't compost, various method and lots of money saving tips - I might even start looking at worms in a fresh light. (Notice I say look, not touch  )

    Plan for today's food is:
BF = HM bread toasted with farm eggs
L = Roasted Butternut Squash soup
D = Lobster (Thanks Lidl :T ) maybe risotto, dk until it's fully defrosted.

I think I'll start a thread and ask 'what can I do with a frozen lobster?'

I notice there are lots of colds and flu around so if you're under the weather, take care and wrap-up warm.

    Morning all.

Wow what a hard frost again here today. but last 2 days have got so much washing on line dry i'm very pleased. off to hang some more out in a min. My 15m old son is very poorly , full of cold. so he is dosed up. his voice is so sweet tho very croaky.

My hubby is building us a bed base this weekend. he is going to make it so we can use it for storage. i know how it being made but can't really describe it wihtout it sounding odd.

i finally finished the roman blinds my mum started to make last year and have put them up. boy is the kitchen alot warmer this morning. there only thin but it amazing how much difference it can make. i would highly suggest to everyone if u don't have window dressing up then do , it save the heat getting lost through window.

i am making a start on painting kids room today. my 3 year old want to help which sn't a prob if i supervise properly then it should be ok.

ahhhhh i can't believe xmas isn't far away . i really can't get my head around it. i love xmas but we ahve so many jobs in the house we are doing i just dont seem to have the time. although i think i will do most of it online tbh. so it justa case of sitting down to work out what to get everyone.

AS for food today not sure as haven't look at meal planner yet.

Enjoy your day everyone and wrap up warmly

    Good Morning everyone :)

    Yay, I love the weekends!

Went to a 100th Birthday party yesterday, was more like a funeral. Ds has now been instructed that if I am to reach the ripe old age of 100 I want a full Karaoke and disco with a bit of Chas n' Dave and Agadoo and a full bar stocked with all my favourite cocktails!

    Anyway......

We have decided to throw money saving out the window (slightly) and go bowling and out for lunch. Oh has been working really hard lately and so we are just going to go and have some fun!

Still have lots to do, ds has just gone off for his swimming lesson. The house needs a real clear through and I am hoping to smile sweetly at oh and persuade him to go to the dump which is his least favourite job. I promised my mum some of the kids old bits and pieces for her village bric a brac. Not sure what dinner will be as we still haven't decided where we are going for lunch, freezer is looking fairly healthy at the moment so can pull something out of there if needs be. Love watching the X Factor on a saturday night with ds...Come on Leona!

Have a good day everyon, stay warm and hugs to those that need them :)

  • Morning all,
It's not frosty outside, but it's definately cold...thank goodness for my now nice warm CH, don't think it's ever been this efficient - thanks to my plumber/engineer.

WM on, and once I get off here the kitchen is having a good clean! I hate w***ing for a living, I can't get everything done in the house!

Bertie - glad you had a wonderful time with your GC - I wish I had had grandparents like you - they couldn't say they were bored. Do you want to inherit another 3 GD's. They would love it!

Not too good a night's sleep I kept getting hot and waking up, hope its not the start of hot flushes - I'm only 35!!

Pen-Pin - will join you in a lovely hot buttered crumpet this morning, yum ...diet is forgotten, christmas is coming ...

Daughter received her first Prize in a competition yesterday. Spent all evening building giant Jenga just to have it fall down and start again!!! Suppose that is the name of the game, but it's a bit of a pain. Shes happy though.

Have 2 hours free this afternoon, girls go to a party, and then were off to a free bonfire later, by the canal. It should be a good day, hopefully.

Have a lovely day, everyone xx

    Morning all

Had a busy day yesterday not helped by having no power until after lunch - but at least all the wiring's in place in the extension now! They finally took down all the shuttering so we can see how big the room is - wow - it's huge - plastering and ceilings start next week!

DH has gone to work for a few hours whilst we all get up and showered and get the housework done, then we're on a mercy dash up to some friends in Essex, they're having a few problems and we're going to drag them out for a drink and a good talking too. We'll make good use of the journey and pop to Ikea to price up a new computer desk and tv stand (hence DH going into work this morning - to earn in advance what I'm likely to spend :D )

We're not going to the firework display tonight - with having no heating in the house at the moment we just feel it's silly to get so cold outside and not be able to warm up properly when we get back. Have promised DD's a games evening (guess who, snakes and ladders and cludo are the popular choice) whilst we have HM pizza.

My first lot of stuff went on ebay late yesterday afternoon and 18 of the 19 items are being watched and I've had loads of questions this morning about posting abroad, hope to get another load of stuff sorted tomorrow for listing next week.

Hope you all have a great day and stay safe if you're going to a bonfire party.

  • Hello everyone

Not been here for a few days as I've not been too well - this freezing weather plays havoc with my joints.

Tried out my new (Freecycle) bread maker yesterday. Wasn't able to use it for a week as the measure was missing and I had to order one from Morphy Richards (Only £1.63 and no post and packing charge, very MSE). So I made a 2lb white basic loaf and it's absolutely gorgeous:T. Only problem is I can't stop eating it!

Hope all the poorly people feel better soon.

    Sue
