Morning folks
Getting ready for work at the moment. Finish at 1 so at least it's not a whole day. Saturdays are normally fairly quiet so can't complain too much.
Ended up going round the shops yesterday. Seen a few good Crimbo pressies in Borders books so made a list and will search for them later online and see where is the cheapest
We have a big night out tonight. It's a dinner then entertainment job all for £9each and it's always a really good night. So nothing much will be getting done after work except an effort to make myself look beautiful
Have a great weekend everyone0 -
Morning!
Its cold again here - and have managed to sort out the heating which is good, dont fancy a shower when the house is this cold! Im still coming down with some cold thing, but I feel a bit better this morning so im hoping it isnt going to knock me off my feet!
W*** today, im hoping its a quiet one but as payday for most people was last week, I sincerely doubt it. Fingers crossed it flies by and I can get home quickly!
Not much else to report really - have a great day all!

...or is was when it ended a couple of days ago. Have been in recovery since
Not posted for a few days for the same reason... granddaughters for half-term,
Summary: Exhausting but SO rewarding... in so many ways we don't want them to grow up and lose that innocence. Against that is the fact that as they get older (8 & 5 now) they get so much more interesting... and more fun!
The weather was SO miserable that we were limited in our trips out! Not a problem... we found so many other things to explore.
Quick summary...
(1) Making Pumpkin Lanterns is REAL fun (I'd NEVER done it before in 57 years!)
(2) The local Italian restaurant is still the favourite dining place
(3) "Hello Children Everywhere" remains a popular compilation of kids songs... but in the sing-along stakes out goes "Gillygillyossen-thingy" and in comes (straight to Number One!) "Boom Ooh Yattatata" (Ernie and Eric). Rolf's "I've lost my mummy" remains VERY polular
(4) "Scooby Doo" is replaced by "Pokemon" in the cartoon favourites
(5) Thank heavens for https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies
(6) Monopoly is replaced by Cluedo! in the fav games stakes (and Yahtzee is a close second)
(7) Bird-watching and walking are emerging interests (at least with the 8yo) (great... we'll love those)
(8) The worlds most accurate saying is "it's great to have them - because you can hand them back when you're tired"
Have a great weekend all0 -
I like this time of year. The frost is thick on the ground and I am warm insdie the house. The Aga is warm and gently simmering the kettle for coffee. Everyone else is in bed and for a change no one is wanting to go anywhere in a hurry.
It looks as though i will have to freeze later as the alternator has died on the wife's car, so I guess I will have to replace that.
The school fireworks were great last night, followed by a nice log fire at home and a large plate of Fajitas and a drink.
Not a bad start to the w/end really. Appart from the stupid alternator job looming..

morning all,
feeling rough this morning. went to work last night and knew id be stood near the main etrance all night (am on tills right next to them) and it was freezign so i wore a long sleeve top under my work shirt, my pinny, then a fleece waistcoat and i was lovely and warm - ten kids started messing outside so my boss shut the main doors and opened the smaller side door which directs the draught right at you - i was bloody freezing after that - then had to wait around with my boss (50+ woman) until her taxi came adn its was easily in the minuses last night at 10 oclock! there was frost everywhere. so am sniffling this morning.
Anyway game plan for today - im off to town to find some material to line my front room curtains with. Already have stuff for bens but need more for front room because i have a huge window in there and it needs sortign because they dont quite rach the bottom and im sure it would be warmer if they did.
Then its
*making rice bags,
*sorting the beds out with fleeces.
*washing
*drying
*cooking tea
*sorting bens bag for tomorrow - hes off to his nans house for the day as me and daddy are havign a day out to ourselves (first time in over a year!)
and whatever else i need to get done today - oh changing lightbulbs to energy efficient ones - ARE TESCOS OWN ONES ANY GOOD??
apart form that i hope everyone feels better, has a nice day, enjoys there day and keeps warm
love
Sam

Morning all! Another beautiful sunny morning here, was woken up slightly (!) earlier than I intended by the cat demanding breakfast.
Had a lovely day yesterday with an old friend down in London at a Christmas fair, got a couple of nice pressies and some decorations, friend bought me lunch AND the entrance ticket (returning a favour) so quite a reasonably money saving day even if I WAS loaded down with carrier bags
Today I have a couple of loads of towels etc to do but apart from that and the usual tidying round, a quiet day ahead hopefully. I'm so excited though, DS20 is coming home for the weekend, originally he was only going to be able to pop in tomorrow but has decided to make it a proper weekend visit after all so he will be here round about 2.00 this afternoon. I have a leg of lamb (reduced!) ready for Sunday lunch tomorrow as a celebration
Enjoy your day, everyone, especially Penny Pincher, I hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding, you deserve to have a treat!
Breakfast: crumpets
Lunch: HM soup and roll
Dinner: Probably salmon fillet and roast veg (have a freezer full to use up!)

Hello everybody,
Awful sleep last night. DGS kept waking & then I started coughing. Still choked up with the flu. I took DGS back to his mother this morning. It was so bloody hard. She showed me through the house which isn't too bad. On Monday I will buy a few safety things as the oven dials are easily reached & the corners of the kitchen bench are at his temple area. You can get little plastic corners which will help if he falls on them. No bath, just a shower unfortunatly. But the place was clean & cosy.
I left just before lunch & she txt me that when he woke up he was looking for me. I have had a very teary afternoon but my lovely sister has been here so she's been a comfort. I will have DGS on Thursday and he will sleep over each week and DD will then take him into day care on Friday. Tomorrow's plans are full cupboard inventory & menu plan as we are going in for supplies on Mon so I will do a grocery shop. I also want to sort out some accounts etc. I'm doing light duties tomorrowas I want to recover from this bout of flu quickly.
Well off to get tea. Hope you all have a nice day. It's been raining here for most of the day so didn't wash at all. Hope it fines up tomorrow. ByeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
