p.s. has anyone else been watching HFW on the river cottage treatment? i had to laugh when he did the rubber chicken treatment thing..0 -
Evening all,
Well today I've been stripping once again ..... I don't think I'm ever going to finish the living room! We are talking - plaster / paper / gloss paint / paper ..... it's the gloss paint which is giving me grief .... bit by bit .... and this is with the help of a sharp scraper and a steamer.
We also have no bottom staircase, so we have a stepladder in it's place. DD is a little sceptical of it, but she did climb it tonight (she is only 3).
I cancelled my order for her bike from Halfords today ... they'd promised me delivery on Tuesday (having chased them twice) and after ensuring someone was in for 2 solid days .. it still hadn't turned up, and they were ignoring my e:mails, proved when I 'phoned them this morning .... I was so unimpressed with their lack of communication. Now ordered her bike from Tesco (fingers crossed firmly). She's been ever so good about it, but how do you explain to a 3yr old that people don't always do as they say they are going to do.
Just watching Hugh on Channel 4 and trying to do a meal planner, which I have to hold my hands up and say I haven't done since the Spring. I have some busy times ahead and need to be a bit more organised, and some more batch cooking, but I want some more interesting things than spag bol / chilli / lasagne / cottage pie (can you tell, I'm good with mince!). I need to be able to prep a whole load of food and freeze it, but lacking in inspiration. I have now put chicken kiev on the list - but that's it!
I've also been looking at wheat / rice bags on the net, which d'ya reckon is best / cheaper to make?
Oh ... and could someone please do my ironing .. cos I don't want to!
Scuzz - the only other thing I would want to see is where Santa is visiting and when (and how much!) ...GC - March 2024 -0 -
way to go Nix... brill news!
(((loubee))) and anyone else who needs them. I know I'm late posting again. I just seem so busy with paperwork. I haven't even read the thread the last couple of days. I hope you are all having a good week and will post for longer at the weekend. Miss you all, take care xxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -

Cheers guys, am still buzzing about the bonus so I thought I'd bring us all a drink.
Just watched lovely Hugh on his chicken thing and am sat here wondering whether I can buy my cheap chicken anymore. DS eats soooo much chicken and normally I go for cheapest. Now I am having one of those OS dilemmas - do I go for happy purse or happy heart? Got a feeling it's going to be happy heart from now on
Hope everyone has had a lovely day - oh, and I have a lunchtime date tomorrow as wellyou know, I'm only 3 days into being 37 but so far it's turning out to be quite a good year

Hi, chaps! Nice to see I've been missed - especiall thanks to Ice and Cat. My laptop has died (54 weeks after I bought it   ). I've only just set up my wireless connection on my w*** machine, but should now be back a bit more! Off w*** tomorrow, so I'll definitely be around. I'm in discussion with trading standards as to how long a laptop should last - more than 54 weeks, methinks
DH has gone to the far east for 2 weeks. I thought I'd got used to this, but I'm feeling a bit lonely and down atm, so watching Michael Heseltine's eyebrows on Question Time, with a glass of red.
See you all tomorrow.

Or today
A laptop should definatly last longer than that Pen Pen. I know what you mean feeling a bit down when DH goes. Been there, done that. You seem to find a rythm after a day or two. I think I've spelt that wrong. It doesn't look right. Have a good night sleep.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Taking your advice, Aussie, off to bed. Enjoy your day - bet it's warm and sunny where you are!

PP, good to see you back.........Aussie is right, it's rhythm is right, although I agree with you, it doesn't look right.
Nix, Congratulations! Don't spend all your bonus on champagne!
