Nix - the beers are on you.:T

Managed to grab myself a couple of slow cooker books from waterstones today. Merrily reading my way through them. I need inspiration for meals which are not tomato based - I love my chilli, lasagne, meatballs, spag, ratatouille.......... But I think we need a bit of variety.

20% off day in Debenhams (not on everything tho') Grabbed a parmesan grater from the Nigella range. 1 for me and 1 for sis's christmas. (I seem to find the "one for them , one for me" method of christmas present buying makes the whole thing much more enjoyable:rotfl: .) And also got a mezzaluna for chopping herbs and garlic - I am sooo rubbish at it with a normal knife.

Off to load WM and then prepare for the onslaught of small children (well, 2)

take care and have a lovely evening

    Evening folks!

Made some yummy choccie brownies this morning:drool: - not many left after the boys found them, they're under strict instructions to leave some for their Dad!

Just had to reorder DS1's book for college as its out of stock - so annoying that its advertised by bookshops on Amazon then not in stock when you want it:mad: thats twice this week!

No PP today - hope she's ok and not heard much from shez either:confused: where is everyone, did we ever find out what happened to Moggins:confused:

Last day for DH at his job today, few days off then he starts the new one on Wednesday.:j

    Have a lovely evening all!

    Evening everyone

    Hugs to Loubee

Nix143, wow! congratulations, it's lovely you can be a little less stressed about things and have a good christmas to boot.

Dd and ds are currently watching cbeebies under their duvets as mummy is too mean to put the heating on (even had the windows open to get rid of my pongy lily smell!). The house is now filled with tasty aroma's as I am roasting some peppers with tomatoes, garlic, anchovies, basil and olive oil as a spontaneous treat for a starter tonight (and for a few more days after) thanks to a huge bag of peppers given to me by my mum and dad.

Long day tomorrow, got a long drive to a 100th  birthday party in the afternoon for my great, great Aunt who is in the very late stages of dementia , doing it for my Grandma really as dd will be the only littlie there, haven't told family we are off to Oz yet but it I know it will be the last time I see my aunt which is a strange feeling, although she won't even know who I am tomorrow, she still thinks I'm at school! Couldn't think of a present so opted for a bunch of flowers and ds has made her a card.

    Have a good evening

    Good evening all,

Had a good day today, a lovely sunny day here in Shropshire. After a whizz around went to a friends to sew our 'kits' for our clog dance side. We had cauliflower, courgette and cheese soup for lunch (yuk I thought but was actually ok!)

Tuna Napolitana for tea and then an evening of x stitch and Torchwood on dvd.

It might be a long shot but has anyone done the x stitch 'Oh Christmas Tree' Lavender and Lace design? It's x stitch overlaid with beading and I have lost the beading sheet, might just have to make it up as I go along.

    hugs to everyone

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

  • Afternoon all - haven't posted for a wee while - I've had a really busy week.

Monday we had parents evening - DD had a glowing report :D

Tuesday DD had choir, I had a nurses appointment and then we were supposed to be goin trick or treating - but the people we were going with let us down so we had a kind od make shift party at home

Wednesday DD enrolled at brownies - she's so chuffed she can wear the uniform now - I'm chuffed that brownies should be helpful around the house ;)

Today - nothing planned after school :T So clearly that means housework - I've only just taken a break after coming home at 3.30pm - DD's had her tea (chicken, rice, sweetcorn and peas) and I've made mine and DH's sausage and pasta bake - double quantities - so one's for the freezer ;)

I ordered DD's birthday pressie from argos to be delivered at work so I didn't have to take a day off, it was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but it didn't come, I called them and they said the delivery driver was running late, but he tried to deliver at 9.00pm (in an office  ) anyway she said it would be delivered today, and by the time I left at 3.00pm it still hadn't turned up - luckily I called work at 5.30pm and it's now there :T Panic over :D

Goodness, I've rambled - (((((hugs))))) to all - and congratulations Ticklemouse on your new business - hope you are incredibly successful :D
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

kethry - check your userCP and look under your settings. Under "Edit Options" check about half way down - there is a section called "thread display options" ... check the box which is titled: "Show Avatars" ... that should show up yours and everyone else's too HTH :)
