    :hello: OS'ers:hello:

:grouphug: for all who need them:grouphug:

Its a bright, COLD, sunny morning, we have had the heat on for a while, but set at 18, it only kicks in when the temp in the hall drops below 18.......it was on for a while in the night, the house is nice and warm this morning, the sun shining in the front means the sitting room and our bedroom are warm.

Need to sort the car out ready to change it Monday, waiting for the insurance documents coming through have to take them to the garage so they can tax the car, got 6 months tax in the price, great.............it means not all the bills will come at once, a new disc will be due just before any new tax rises come into force........in April.

I have to go to Argos today to collect a clothes rail for a friend, I ordered it on line last night to pick up today, saves having to go through the rigmarole in store, its bound to be busy people starting to get stuff for Christmas..... iot gets manic in there.......

Apart from that not a lot going on, need to bake a cake. I had been looking for camp coffee, use it for making coffee cake, Tesco did not have it, found it in Asda, so bought 2 bottles.......OH loves coffee cake.......might do a baking of scone too.

Cannot remember whats for supper tonight...........will have to have a look at the 'little list' when I go down stairs.

    Right off for:coffee: bye..............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Well, my experience is limited ... to just one at the moment :rotfl:
A very kind MSE'er was offering a very fraught me advice about setting up my wireless connection and told me I needed a dongle (reminder aforementioned MSE'er it was a wireless connection for my computer and not a discussion on my sex life! )
Anyway, while chatting "MSE Star", did a search and found what I needed with PC World - as it turns out, we have one newly opened locally - "MSE Star" 'bought' it online (no money involved) and put my local store as a pick up point option ... boys were out and about with their Dad, so I text him the order number and off he went, like a good little courier ( :D ) and picked up and paid for the dongle :D:D If he had simple gone into the same store and taken it off the shelf, it would have cost £6.50 *more*!!! I was totally thrilled - who knew acquiring a dongle could be so much fun! :D

Anyway, if it works that way with PC World, I'm keen to know if it works that way with other places - so, before I buy anything, I shall be checking out the online stores first and if the pick up option is there for cheaper, I shall report back :D

    List so far:
    ~PC World (It's a start! :p )

(Note to self: Check out the other boards here and see if there is a list somewhere already :o )

We were looking on the net for some CD players for my son and at a shop about 17 miles away we could go and buy them for £150 but if we ordered them off the website they were £140 with free delivery!:D seems crazy doesn't it:confused: but as you can guess we'll be getting them off the net!;)

  • Morning all!:hello: it's a beautiful day here now that the frost has gone. Got a load of washing in the machine and have my Christmas pudding steaming gently in the kitchen, I'm very excited about that, I've never done one before ;) Have also put some braising steak and vegetables into the SC and will make a steak and ale pie later for dinner, yummy.

Looking forward to today, I actually have a 'me' day today so will get on with some sewing. Also have Big Heap ironing to plough through but will do that as and when :o

    Breakfast: toast and marmalade
    Lunch HM soup and roll
Dinner: steak and ale pie, carrot and celeriac mash, scrummy!

    Hugs to Loubee.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Morning

Firstly ((hugs)) to Loubee and Kiwi :grouphug: Anyone else who needs one, feel free too :)

Had my first decent night's sleep in ages - 8 hours straight through :j Didn't get my lie in as had to take the boys to school - DS1 has a fab shiner/swollen eye in readiness for his school photo. Mind you, he has gone daubed in my Bobbi Brown concealer, so the purple isn't as bad :rotfl: DS2 wanted some too cos the back of his head is bruised apparently (where he connected with DS1's face :D)

In between starting this thread and now, I have just received confirmation of my first official "job" :j :j :j I have to go into "that room" in a local prestigious business, where for the past few years they have just dumped everything, and turn it into a fab contemporary office. Interior design isn't specifically what I am doing, although it comes under my very extensive remit. I will say that I am more like an out-of-house personal assistant - that's all you're getting for now. And also we have just discussed a bespoke package for one of their linked businesses that could prove INCREDIBLY lucrative. Yaaay, go me :rotfl: (sorry, just getting all excited now)

Ooooh, let me calm down. Now, today re OS. Must do some because no-on else has done anything. I haven't run a vac round since friday ... but no-one else has either  I have some chicken defrosted which I shall turn into a SC delight, along with jacket spuds and veggies for tea. BM, DW, WM and TD will all be going on today as well and I need to make friends with fibre cloth and some stardrops too. Phew!! I have my new oven and hob being delivered sometime today so I need to sort out an electrician and the gas fitter chaps to come and wire up/fit etc. A decent oven....... bliss :D

Ok, I'm off for another :coffee:, to put the SC on and then I need to thrash out some thank you letters for last night's attendees.

Hope everyone has a good day and keep warm.

AussieLass - we land in Brisbane on Tuesday & are heading up to the Sunshine Coast. The BBC weather site only does 5 days ahead, but it's forecasting light rain/showers for Sat, Sun & Mon, but 27/30 degrees.

I live in Brisbane :D Well it is just off the coast of Brisbane but it is included in the area. It's called the Bayside & it's one of a few small islands. It takes 20 mins by water ferry to reach Brisbane. When do you travel up to the Sunny Coast? We often holidayed there when the kids were younger. Fab beaches. Watch out for sharks though. :D

Maybe we could meet up for a coffee? My shout. :D I'll bring my thermos. :rotfl:and pack in some HM weetabix cake. ;)

Kyle How did the visit go concerning lo's sleeping habits. Is Twink ok? I've missed her posts. Say hi from me anyway. Byeeeeeeeeee

Snowy How's w*** been? Met any rich nice guys yet?
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi all,

Got up this morning with real determination to sort out the horrible mess I call a bedroom. I have boxes of books all over so it's going to be a mammoth clearout - I must not let myself get sidetracked thinking that i loved such and such a book and might re-read it. I'm a real hoarder and when i look at them I feel like a miser gloating over his money:o . Enough is enough though, I'm relying on you all to keep me on the straight and narrow.:D

I'll report progress tomorrow and if I don't it means I've failed shamefully yet again and one of you must kick me in the backside.

Ticklemouse, your new business sounds fab.

Still trying to find out when DH's best friend will be cremated - because we are not next of kin no one can tell us anything and other friends are contacting us hoping we will have found out something! Feel so helpless!

Dh enjoying the soup I made in the slow cooker and even DD (17) enjoyed a slice of the bacon joint I used to make soup , in a sandwich.

Does anyone know where to get pretty thermal vests? Either in a store - or online?

Hugs to all with colds etc.
