Good afternoon to all, especial hugs to all who need them.
Have been a good OSer this morning and have put veg curry in SC. I have made a promise to myself that I will get the stuff I need for BM to be of use and make some bread. 4 x WM on but some on the line to dry. Have vac upstairs yesterday and done ironing so have just had a whizz round and now will have the rest of the day to myself. Sit and knit scarves for Xmas I think.
Had some news last night that Step daughter 1 is in a lesbian relationship and has been for a year! We met her partner a few weeks ago but only as a friend we thought, although I did say to my DD1 that did she think they may be an item (she said no, so I left it). I asked last night as I could not shake the feeling. OH is fine with it although it has left him feeling a bit odd, no babies or anything like that, but as long as your kids are happy that is all you really want so I expect he will be fine.
May get back later to post again re bread making!

Wow
Sorry just had to come in and share with you guys. My boss just called me into a meeting and said that even though it's not pay review time he knows I've been taking on lots of extra duties and he appreciates all my efforts and he gave me a £1000 bonus!!!!
Completely gobsmacked but so so so SO happy, this means Christmas WILL happen at my house, it means I can pay off a couple of scary debts which have been keeping me awake and just, oh, it just takes the pressure off so much.
And the best thing is that pre MSE days that money would have just gone but now that money will make such a big impact to my life and my mental well being.
Can't describe how relieved and happy and grateful I am.

Hi everyone!
Apologies- haven't had time to read the thread yet but hugs to all who need them.
It's gorgeous and sunny today here in Sussex but wow has the temp dropped. Had to dig out gloves, winter coats and a vest for the small person.
On the OS front I have hoovered throughout and done a dark wash aswell as the usual tidy up and wipe down.
Tonight's joys will include the weekly menu and shopping list and hulling the pumpkin seeds for eating at a later date. OH is producing a vegetable crumble for tea. Hopefully I will finish my Mum's scarf whilst watching Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall.
OS plans for this weekend will be baking of some sort, sewing badges on to the new cub sweatshirt [yipee] finishing the last of the chrimbo present shopping and hiring a carpet cleaner if it's available to tackle all the stains which stardrops have improved but now need something stronger!
Enjoy the sunshine!

Hi Everyone,
Have had a good start to the day. Had some free samples of Timotei shampoo and no bills, through my door. Took DS to playgroup for the day, and went to but him some gloves. They had already sold out of childrens hats and scarfs, in my local Primark but luck had it, that they had a few pairs of gloves left! Then I went to Morrisons, and got the following for 10p each: punnet of plums, punnet of red grapes, brocolli and cauliflower, and mint and parsley new potatoes. I was also given a big bag of cooking apples last night as well.
Have just finished making a plum and apple oat crumble, and cooking a beef and beer pie, with veg meationed above. That will sort my parents out for tea (they are babysitting for me), as I'm going out to Wetherspoons for the curry night with DH. Must go shortly, and finish housework before picking DS up.
Take care all...POwieA woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
wow! Congratulations Nix!!
thank you everyone for your kind words and hugs. The funeral is next Thursday. She was very active in her local church and helped so many people, so she will have many many people coming to say goodbye.
Just spoke to my Dad-he said the worst bit was watching my cousin's husband trying to explain to his 2 1/2 year old son why he wouldn't see grandma anymore.

Afternoon everyone:wave:
Yes its flippin freezing!
Just put a chicken in the oven to try and warm things up abit as I'm so trying not to have the heating on during the day but its been on a while now in the evenings & mornings. Just had my gas bill this morning and I'm £72.24 in credit :j so not having it on during the day seems to be reducing the cost and the nice new sausage dogs I made are helping to stop the drafts.:D
Must dash little un to pick up from school but hugs to all,
Haven't seen Pen-pen post for a few days?
Take care and wrap up warm

hi folks,
went to bed *very* late last night - 4.30am! - which has meant a correspondingly late getting-up-time. got to rush out to Asda in a bit before it gets too dark and cold, so that i can do the shopping and get back to make bread and warm the house up a bit.
OH loved his birthday meal yesterday, he doesn't get steak very often so he was a happy bunny. also had phone calls from his parents and his grandmother throughout the day, which was lovely, especially his grandmother, he was very happy about that one.
right, porridge nearly done - i gotta scoot. have a good day, folks!!

Hello and hugs to all. Today I've been cleaning mould from my bedroom window with a toothbrush and bio wash powder. We've got really heavy, floor-length, lined curtains and the condensation in the window in the mornings is terrible, and it's leading to a mouldy window and wall, so got that done, then wiped over briefly with a mild bleach solution. Need to shorten the curtains so that there's a better circulation of air in the bedroom.
DD's parents evening tonight, so OH and myself won't be in till 6ish. No idea what's for tea, jacket spuds or bacon and cheese oatcakes possibly.
DD having a sleepover tomorrow at scouts. DH and DS going to Santa Pod in camper (pictured) for car racing and fireworks, think they'd all better take the thickest sleeping bags. Me, I've had a new hot water bottle courtesy of Boots advantage points, so I'm sorted now.
Have a good afternoon and evening,
soba0
