  • Afternoon Guys!

Had a pretty lazy morning and are all still in PJ's:eek:   OH still not good but the pain killers are doing their job but the anti-biotics have wiped him out.

Our friends came round last night and she had collected a couple of loads in the morning so bought them back with her later in the day. As we werent feeling good they actually did dinner for us:rolleyes: ...it was a shame to put them off and already had the food in. They even loaded the DW and unloaded once it was finished and took another load home with her. It was a nice evening, we didnt have to go out, was cooked for and all we did was get the cheese and biscuits out and put the coffee perculator on. They didnt stay late and was brillaint.

DD has completed all HW and got her bag together for tomorrow.

Want to sort the bag out for the charity in the morning, so at least Ive felt like I have done something today:D

Have a chook in the oven and smells devine. OH is doing his fabulous roasties later-he brushes with olive oil and keeps them large on a baking tray...they go golden brown and taste devine. We also have chocolate cake left from last night;)

    Breakie: Toast & Jam
    Lunch: Jacket Spuds & Curry
Dinner:R.Chicken, Roasties, Yorkies, Beans, Parsnips, Sprouts & Carrots

Anyway, got to go. HUgs to all.

Moggins-Lovely to hear from you hun, have missed you.

    Hiya

Just completed the 'been putting off for ever' task of contacting potential accountants now. I've ripped out the pages from my Yellow Pages and contacted those I can through email. Tis funny, I feel slghtly intimidated by the thought of talking to one!

Penny-Pincher - I find even if I complete one task during the day I do feel a bit better :D Glad the painkillers are doing the job for your OH, fingers crossed he feels well soon.

jockettuk - have fun with your meet-up. I'm yet to go down that route, but look forward to the day I can!

Nelski, good luck with your meal.

All this talk of cooking has made me v. hungry. In a very non-OS way I'm going to pop into town now and buy some lunch. I fancy soup if I can find it as for some reason the air-conditioning is on at work and blowing down my neck. Why?! *sigh*

Catch up with you when I get back with my 'interview winning' outfit ;)

    Welcome back Moggins :j :j :j

Well so far today I have made flapjacks, bread rolls, fridge bottom soup and prepared all the veg for the roast later on. I've done all my washing and drying (still got to iron it all though  ) and I've pulled everything out of my "big" kitchen cupboard - you know the one that houses all the saucepans, pots, dishes, gadgets etc - I've cleaned it and I've escaped up here on the pretence "I'm letting it all dry out" before I start putting everything back ;)

Better get back to it - byee
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Afternoon all

Great to see you back Moggins :j:j

Lazy morning for me - didn't get out of bed and dressed till nearly mid-day (ok, had to get kids their brekkie but went back again) Have managed to fully clean the living room, dininr oom and hall and stairs. BM has just beeped at me and I have a load of washing to come out in a sec.

This afternoon I'll be going into Preston. Mr TM is coming back from Londinium by train and gets in about tea time (he thinks!!) so I might as well go over there and treat us to a bit of tea while we're out. Want to buy my mum a pressie using my Boots points - hope the last lot have been credited! Will ring and check in a bit.

Most of the ironing has been done so I'll do the last couple of loads tonight. Need to get mthe upstairs vac'd today if I can then the house is just about done - oh, best muck out the kitchen (again) I suppose. DW will go on after lunch - blimey - I am running late :D

OK peeps, hope you all have a good one

    Back again!

The Christmas craft fair was lovely, really got me in the mood. The things were very expensive so came away with a couple of candles and a few ideas pinched.

One of the ideas were tall drinks glasses (which I'm sure you could buy cheap from somewhere) filled with a column of pretty little star shaped shortbreads, and then wrapped in clear cellophane with snow flakes on it and topped with a white bow. Looked really simple and expensive at the same time.

PP - hope your oh is feeling better soon, I had kidney stones in October and they are Soooo painful. I see the consultant next week to find out whether there is a little one left behind.

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

    Hi everyone,

Really good to see Moggins and Kazonline back.

As everyone has said baby Lily is beautiful. I feel broody as well but too old now! We would have loved a third after DD and DS but it just never happened and I've never had to bothe wth contraception. Mind you it would probably be sods law that I got pregnant now.

DS didn't leave for uni till yesterday, we had the architect round to finalise the plne, went for a 4 mile walk and then to a quiz in the evening so a busy day. My team won the quiz and I got a lovely washbag with toiletries as a prize, makes a change from a bottle of wine, which I don't drink.

Fnished my course assignment and submitted it this morning but now I'm worried about whether i've done enough to pass.

Got to sort the washing and tackle the ironing mountain (might leave that for DH while he watches the liverpool match.

    Hiya one and all

It's a fab day here - lots of sun and blue skies and just enough breeze to get the washing dry. Amazing, as they predicted rain today for us - I think we're getting it tomorrow though.

Yesterday my OH's niece produced a much wanted baby. Her second child but the first one from this marriage. It's a much wanted boy - the rest of the family seems be specialising in girls! We also have the news that OH's son and partner are expecting their second child next year as well. By the way, Queenie, I thought you had two boys (not four) - obviously I've not been paying attention

I've pretty much got Christmas sorted pressie wise but I'm off to West Quay (Southampton) tomorrow mainly to look for baby things and a few bits and pieces. Why is that I always seem to manage to slip a few things in for me as well when let loose?
  • Afternoon all!

Well this mornings good intentions to get all the baking done for lunch boxes this week have gone out the window. Made the pizza and reloaded the breadmaker to make a wholemeal loaf for tea.
Washing done and ironing beckoning, which I'm trying to ignore.

Haven't got round to baking my oaty biscuits yet but I just lit a chocolate chip cookie candle by Yankee candles to get me in the mood. Smells wonderful. :D

Gonna go make a cuppa so I get the full cookies and coffee effect. ;)

    Hi everyone

I'd like to echo what has already been said....ie a big big big welcome back to both Moggins and Kazonline.

Moggins, yes you are far too young to be granny!! Congratulations anyway, the little addition to your family will bring you much joy.

I've dot a dold today...dan not say my C's. It's a real proper horrible woman dold as well, lol.

My night out at my friend's house last night was fabulous. Considering we hadn't seen each other for about 12 years it was like there was no gap at all and we yakked and yakked well into the wee small hours. It was good to find out that I am not weird because I found the move from England back to N.Ireland so hard....she is back less than a year and has been finding it tremendously difficult to settle in too. Some of you may remember than I returned to NI with three kitties, all of whom died during the course of last year (heartbreaking, it really was). Well, my friend and her family brought two kitties back with them and their kitties have both disappeared. She was v.careful and kept them inside for weeks as recommended. But one cat just vanished two weeks later, then three months later the other one went - that cat was 17 years old...older than her two children. They found it as hard as I found losing my three. Yes they are cats and perceive the world so very differently to us, but both of us agreed that they were the biggest comfort and such good companions especially through the back luck we've both been having in our moves back here. To not have them any more is just so painful.

Well, sorry for getting all melancoly there! I am in a good mood today, really I am! That is despite the horrible weather we are having here. Even my Teddy (big fluffy kitty) who insists on going outside only lasted about 30 seconds after I opened the door for him. Dylan on the other hand is having a great time on the windowsill trying to catch the many raindrops.

I'm off out now to the supermarket - need some loo roll as it's about to run out. With anything else it's possible to be creative and improvise, but not with loo roll (am to scared to use tissues as they can block the pipes and that's a nightmare I don't want to invite) so will have to brave the wind and rain.

OK, gonna trot off now. Hope everyone is having the v.best Sunday possible, and again, Moggins and Kazonline it's great to have you back.

    Bye all.
